    Also, Tim Henson learned his guitar thumping technique directly from Tosin Abasi. For an example of HIS usage of the technique, a great song to give a listen to would be The Woven Web by his band Animals as Leaders.

    Amazing! You loved Clay Gober's bass and Tim Henson's guitar so you should check out their band, Polyphia! I would recommend G.O A.T., OD, or Yas by Polyphia! Great reaction!

    The picking and plucking is called 'Hybrid Picking'. Hard pressed to find a song by Polyphia where you don't hear it.

  • @the.edgyhippie
    @the.edgyhippie 3 роки тому +2

    those aren’t record scratches , those are dead notes. just like slap bass, thumping used a lot of dead notes. you would love dead rose by these guys!

  • @lyconxero457

    That's actually not a "chopped up record" it's percussive playing on the guitar. It's one of Manuel Gardner Fernandez' (the guitarist/vocalist) most showcased abilities as it takes incredibly right hand speed and control.

    The record scratch sound is what’s known as djent. He’s palm muting the strings and strumming

    • @stripesandwheels
      @stripesandwheels 3 роки тому +2

      that’s not what djent means

    • @pyromajor1
      @pyromajor1 3 роки тому

      @@stripesandwheels yes it is. It’s a sub genre based on that sound. It’s called djent as an onomatopoeia. Go look up misha from periphery (guy who invented djent) explaining it

    • @stripesandwheels
      @stripesandwheels 3 роки тому

      @@pyromajor1 djent is rythmic open notes, links 0s and 1s. What this guy does is percussive strumming. Basically just dead notes he strums to make a chkchk sound. Completely different than djent as a genre.

    Btw there's no editing or dubbing,theyre THAT GOOD,PS what you thought was record scratching is the lead singer playing dead notes,he's brilliant!!👊

    Oh and yeah ... Them Polyphia boys make anybody sound good ... That is one sick sound they got. I can pick them out of any musical lineup by now, their style is distinctive A.F.

    Are you talking about the guy who was being handcuffed and was trying to abduct his kids then he resisted and ran to the glove box while they told him many times to stop?

    • @henrikswanstrom9218
      @henrikswanstrom9218 4 роки тому +2

      He resisted arrest and his kids were in the car.
      Apparently the police thought he was going for a non-existant knife located inside the car so he could start dueling the police.
      The police closest to him clearly feared for his own life so he blasted 7 shots into the back of the man.
      That's some damn nice police work. Wish the rest of the west had police with some american academy training.
