Glue traps are inhumane and should be banned. Not only do they catch all sorts of unintended animals, they are an unnecessarily barbaric way to kill mice. I don’t want mice in my house any more than anyone else, but there is no need to be cruel about it. There are plenty of inexpensive instantaneously lethal and nonlethal ways to control rodents. Please don’t use glue traps!
Lethal is preferable because house mice and both brown and black rats are invasive and detrimental to native birds and reptiles, but glue traps are unnecessary
Onetime left a comment about how you shouldn’t and oh my gosh the amount of hate I got. Like people were saying “it brings me joy knowing they stuffer and scream” like ok. Just don’t use glue traps it’s cruel. Some people are truly awful. Thank you for trying to save the little one.
We don’t have a snake problem where I’m from but this is still really sad to watch, I like all reptiles and animals so traps are something I don’t like using or seeing used.
I'm sorry for the little snake and am sad to know these traps kill them. Sadly it's company policy to use them around the grounds where I work. Haven't seen one get caught yet thankfully, most the glue traps are inside rather then out.
When i was a kid my cat broke the screen mesh on my snakes cage and i thought it would be a good idea to fix it with duck tape and the snake fucken got stuck in the duck tape while i was at school poor little dudes face was peeling off nd shit i felt so fucking dumb
that’s technically a lie. glue traps are actually very effective, you are just supposed to bait them 😅 that’s the issue. most people, obviously, don’t do that but also, glue traps aren’t for outdoor use
I've saved FIVE big snakes off of glue traps, but caught dozens and dozens of brown recluse and house centipedes. I will never stop using glue traps. 😅😅😅
If you respect that brown recluses may end up in things you don't use for a while, and will run away if they think they can, they'll never endanger you. Also house centipedes are never dangerous, and both consume large amounts of real pests that will chew at your stuff and swarm you. You're just making the problem harder for yourself
I saved a little blue tailed skink like that one time. I used some warm water and tried my hardest not to pull too fast and injure him. When I released him he looked back to me in disbelief before going off into my yard. Love reptiles 🦎 💜
Nothing?? There’s literally no reason to use glue traps/traps for anything. Insects exist for a reason, a really IMPORTANT reason. Our ecosystems rely on insects, we are all alive because of insects. There is not any good reason to kill then.
Great job trying to rescue him, sad story though.
One time my friend had a glue trap in his garage and it would NEVER catch bugs, only innocent lizards. STOP GLUE TRAPS GUYS
I stopped using them for this same reason
I use them for flies/knats, I just put them on high surfaces.
At lest you tried that’s more than most 😢 Rest in peace lil one.
Glue traps are barbaric. They’re already banned in some parts of the world but they need to be in more.
Nooo the poor little snake did not deserve that. I am happy that you at least tried to save him its sad that he died😞
Little bro just wanted to find food like why do glue traps still exist bru 😔
They should be banned
Totally agree! Glue traps are evil. Thanks for trying. Poor little guy.😢
Bless you kind sir!!! I absolutely hate those traps
Glue traps and bird netting are both things I will never use again
Your a good man.❤

Kittens get stuck to these when you throw them away as well

RIP lil guy, you’ll be missed
A mí me tocó rescatar más de un lagartija limpia casa de esos pegamentos
Put flower on the trap then wiggle gently the flower will settle in and release the animal.
Dont pull
Don’t use alcohol
Just use flower
Hell ya I'm glad you tried
TY 🙏😇💙 😢
Mineral oil works great too
Thank you for saving that little garter snake from that glue trap. Hope the little guy OK.

I had no idea that people used them outside their homes 😳
Damn well at least you tried, 😕 damn that sucks, we need them in our ecosystem
Bless you
Glue traps are absolutely evil. People who use them should be prosecuted for cruelty to animals.
My dad had the same glue trap
Glue traps all should be illegal
RIP LILMAN😔

dan i should have fed him to the turtles 🐢 lol kk 😅
😭
I feel like the only way you can actually use glue traps is if it’s in your house just for bugs like spiders that shouldn’t be there
Poor baby
Maybe isopropyl alcohol will work better than sunflower oil if this happens again?
😢😢😢😢😢😮😢😢😢😢😢😢

House centipedes are good for your house though they help keep the super annoying gross ones at bay like roaches

Glue traps do suck but what else do you expect folks to use that's chemical free?

The traps might have been set for mice or rats. If so, a mechanical trap would've worked.
Ironically the glue traps often trap animals that eat the animals they are actually intended for.
