This video is amazing! The automatic feeder and watering system for the chicken coop is such a game-changer-so practical and efficient. And the new puppy is absolutely adorable! Love how you balance farm life with some relaxing time by the lake. Keep up the great content!
Howdy y’all- I think your chickens have the best life and place of abode over any I’ve seen. Love the new dog. Hope y’all have a great weekend. God bless
Thanks Paul! It sure makes it easy to take care of them! Hope your project is going well, we need to catch up with your videos as well. Been crazy busy around here. Hope you enjoy your weekend!😊
Happy to see a new video this morning from you. Had thought about you and the heat. Happy to see all is well. Sassy is a cutie. Thanks for sharing with us the new feeders. Hope they work out. Best wishes as always, Deb
Hi Lance! Good work, the chickens will be very happy with your invention👍. The feeder looks like a saxophone, ha ha grins. Best regards from Hans and Cheers🍻🇦🇹.
Thanks Hans! It does kind of look like a saxophone 🤣🤣It is a good solution for when we want to be lazy and go fishing for a few days😁Take care and enjoy your weekend 😊🍺😁
Hi, Lance and Cinda! How nice to see you again. Your chicken coop is getting better and better. Good job! Sassy is beautiful! Is she a Border Collie? I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Thank you! Auto feeders and waterer let’s us be lazy and go fishing 🤣Sassy is a miniature Australian shepherd. They also call them an American shepherd since the minis were bred here I think. They are a herding dog too, and usually very smart like a border collie. But you have to keep them busy or they will find something to do themselves 😂🤣Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!💕
Thank you so much for all the information you gave me. I didn´t know that. She is gorgeous! And yes you deserve to be lazy and go fishing.🤣🤣🤣 I have a Border Collie and he is pure energy🤣🤣🤣🤣@@natureartgirl
I haven't seen you guys in a while. The chicken coop looks awesome!! It seems that sometimes you go fishing for several days. In that lake you can see that there are several islands. When are you going camping? It is the last thing you need to do to continue enjoying the life you live. Congratulations, and happy new year 2024, from Canada..., the snow and cold days have not come yet, so for now, I enjoy your videos and the sunny days. This is Julio from Calgary, AB, Canada.
Hi Julio. We are going camping this week, but not sure if we will video it, the weather may not be very good. Lance has been having some problems with his neck so he hasn’t been able to do much lately. He’s been trying to take it easy for a while. We are glad you are still getting some nice weather. Ours has been a little warmer than usual too. Take care sir😊👍
Thanks! We love her! She’s gradually learning not to chase the chickens. But instincts are strong🤣🐕Both our other dogs are herding dogs also, but it took a bit for them to understand that chickens don’t act like sheep! Indy helps me round them up at night and he loves having a “flock”! He can get them to move just with a slow walk and intent stare😁😁I think she will get it too🐕😊
As always great job and what a great new addition to the family... our horses name is Sassy and January gone by we added a miniture blue heeler to our family.... I've been subscribed to your channel since pretty much the start of the log cabin.... my wife never had a name chosen for our little girl and i was keeping her up to date on the build.... she asked me how your name was spelled and my wife said lets name our little girl Cinda... and so we did... if you have an email I'll send you guys some pictures of her
😁💕That’s awesome! We would love to see pictures of her! We haven’t seen a miniature heeler, I bet she’s really cute! Our email is natureartgirl@yahoo.com.
Welcome back guys! It looks like the chicken are living at Holiday Inn . What’s next? Heater in the winter? Hehehe it’s a nice project….I love it! Chicken with a golden spoon…beautiful dog Lance n Cindy…
ohh cute new dog you haven't been on for little while now to the new dog Sassy is a herding dog like a collie in Australia they used also in herding sheep to so its natural she will herd the chickens love the new water's to there nice Lance is very inventive with the feeders good job
Thanks! We sure do love her! She’s a lot of fun and gives Brody someone to play with. We are working on changing the chasing to a calmer herding game with the chickens and she is starting to catch on. She’s pretty smart🤣🤣
I like your feeder ideas. I think I would have engineered it to be able to fill the tubes from outside of the pen however. Easier than having to get inside the run.
Yes, you could definitely do that if you like. But we were trying to avoid having any openings that would allow entry of predators. So you would have to be careful to seal it well around the feeder. This works great for us since we have the door open anyway during the day to let the hens free range. So we fill the feeders then. Then when we close it up at night the hens and feed are secure.
@@natureartgirl Understandable. The one I saw on a different video was the guy ran two 2x4's across the inside of the run. Then he built a frame with a latched door with the screen attached to swing open or down like you did with your front doors to your coop. The screen you cut out for the access would be staples to the door frame like you did for your coop doors. You would have a latch on the access door. It still be predator proof like now. Just thinking is all. I guess I don't like walking around in the chicken muck any more than I have to.
Happy to see the new video! Love the new puppy! ❤ We have had a couple of Aussies and currently have a toy Aussie the same color! They can be a handful, but we love 'em!
Yes, she definitely brings a lot of energy to the mix! But she is super good natured and gets along great with the boys! Even Brody has learned to play nicely with her which says a lot because he usually plays really rough😬🤣we are sure enjoying her!
How nice to see you all.😍 And wow those chickens live a luxury life better than some super hotel ha ha😆, What you have done looks so fantastic, you are both incredibly talented. And congratulations on your new dog, how sweet and beautiful he is. Great pictures as you sailed home wow so beautiful. Have a good weekend and enjoy your beautiful place with all the animals, Knus Maria Denmark,🙂❤🙏
Thanks so much! The hens are finally starting to earn their keep!😂 But we have a few dozen eggs to go before they pay their way🤪🤣We are really enjoying our new puppy, she really livens the place up! I forgot how much energy they have at that age😊Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!💕
Think chickens are so interesting and exciting about it all. They are doing so well, so I wonder if there will be a lot of eggs all of a sudden, I guess the hens have to pay a little rent in the form of eggs..ha ha,😆 And yes, it is hard with a new dog and that age is crazy about energy and there something has to happen all the time, but fortunately they quickly find a rhythm and reflect the other dogs you have. Have a good time everyone.🙂@@natureartgirl
Hi, glad to see you back with a new video. Still working hard and with ingenuity too! The feeding and watering stems will relive you a little - and the capped end on one feeder was brilliant - as was the extension on the 2nd one! I hope you enjoyed that long-awaited egg and didn't fight over it ;) Have a great autumn and a run-up to winter.
Hi Jim! Nope, didn’t have to fight over the first egg, we got another the next day! Just had them for breakfast this morning. It was really a surprise as that first one was a double yolk even though it was small! Never seen that before on a first egg😊Hope you have a great weekend!😊👍
The nipples are easier to keep clean, but our chicks much prefer the cups. It’s so hot here in the summer I don’t think they get enough to drink out of the nipples. Of course it might just depend on what they get used to. 😊👍
We do not want more chickens than we have, so are not planning on hatching out any more chicks. Roosters are great for protecting the hens if you need that, but we have 3 herding dogs that are very good at running off hawks and other predators. We have had roosters before and have had some bad experiences with them becoming aggressive and attacking people and pets with their spurs. It just depends on what your situation is as to whether or not they are a good idea.
Thank you! We have 9 sapphire gem hens and 5 black Australorps. Both types are very gentle and super good layers. Also smart enough that you can let them free range. The black ones are supposed to discourage hawks since the hawks think they are crows. So far, it seems to be working. 😊
Yes, we thought about getting a rooster, but we had a two of them years ago that would fly up and try to spur us. We wanted to be sure the dogs would not lose an eye. The dogs are really good at keeping the hawks away and we have about 2 acres fenced in, so they are pretty safe. But roosters sure are pretty!

Bei uns auf denn Hof kommt regelmäßig der Falke, holt sich die jungen Gasseln und Kücken. Schneide regelmäßig die Federn ,, nur die Spitzen der Flügel.
Looking to copy your run build w/ dimensional lumber, but I live in a high wind (SW Oklahoma). Any suggestions on how to beef up the run for my wx conditions? I thought of digging in the up-rites.
That should work. Or you could use some mobile home tie downs. We have had 60 mph winds here with no problem, since it does not catch much wind. But tie downs would definitely be a good idea even here. We get an occasional tornado too. 😊
It is simple to make covers for as many of the windows as you like. We have a video on that too. They only need it when it gets extremely cold or windy. Just be sure and keep some upper area open for ventilation or they will get sick. Chickens can handle a lot of cold but need some ventilation.
My god that's a nice Is chicken coop, so . I made a little video on UA-cam about my diesel heater , Short video on it. Check it out it would help. If you have time. Under the name bear. Take care my friends ❤
I did check it out. Couldn’t find it under “Bear” got hundreds of grizzly videos🤣 but I used your user id and that worked. Looks interesting! Just be safe and make sure it’s vented properly. We are firefighters, so a little paranoid about carbon monoxide poisoning. 😊👍

Best chicken decision we made, no waste at all. Paid for the box by not wasting.
That's a brilliant idea! Good for the chickens.
Wish we could claim the credit for it, but just saw a couple of others similar and thought it was a great idea! It’s been working nicely so far😁
