I think Jay was incredible. The only reason he didn't get the same hype for his work was because of the existence of AEW and the west falling out of love for NJPW for AEW. In my opinion, Jay had superb execution of his character and everything he was given. His matches may not be "5 star classics" but they were definitely good and always told a story.
Nah Jay White’s run for me in new Japan was special. Dude came in and straight up started beating everyone multiple times and ran through entire divisions and became champion over and over. I don’t think a gaijin will ever steamroll through the ranks the way Jay White did ever again.
🧢 because although he wasn't Kenny, I'd say Jay white was more "the man" in NJPW than AJ or Devitt. Their runs were good but they get the rose tined treatment bec of what they accomplished after. Whether it was Okada for nth time, Tana, rise Ibushi or Naito, their go-to foil is always Jay

He was the best heel in wrestling for the last 5 years. The issue is that when he was at his most hated, covid happened. When he had his long world championship run, covid happened. He is still a top 5 wrestler on the planet and the best heel in the business. His run in New Japan is as good if not better than Kenny or AJ imo. But yeah, in terms of main stream wrestling, Jay was the best when no one was watching
I think he definitely deserves more praise I saw his new Japan work and he is one of the best heels I've seen not to mention he just pulls you into his promos The man can not only wrestle he can talk
I agree with this because I feel like njpw was very focused on okada being the main guy (which I have no issues with, okada is a legend and arguably the best wrestler in the world in my opinion.) and if it’s not okada it would be focused on tanahashi or naito which are all fantastic wrestlers but jay felt a little bit lost on the card, going all over the place, from title to title, which is okay but I wish he could’ve had a good long iconic run of amazing matches and story telling when he got the bullet club omega was leaving and it felt a bit watered down so just a bad time imo. But still a fantastic talent and wrestler!
Agreed WHOLEHEARTEDLY. This is one of the main reasons I want WWE to sign him, assuming Hunter is still in control of Creative. Jay White should be who WWE prioritizes over Kenny Omega. Being 10 years younger and arguably as good a wrestler with WAY better Character work, if WWE were to get behind him like they're doing with Cody, in a year of being in WWE, I could see him being given the ball and getting the run that says "He's the guy".
I like what he’s doing. He has an American version of a subgroup of bullet club and instead of throwing too sweet, he throws guns like Devitt.. always remember something, Devitt will remain prince even if he is Balor now. The Judgement is only the beginning 🤔 #ForbiddenDoor
They gave him the IWGP heavyweight championship too soon because they needed to fill the hole left by Kenny Omega and they didn’t elevated him enough as the IWGP World heavyweight champion because his contract with NJPW was coming to an end and they played it safe by not elevating him that much because he didn’t renewed it . Btw since he works for AEW and they are open to work with NJPW hope to see him back there one day and also complete the new grand slam by winning the NJPW world television championship and I wouldn’t mind seeing him getting a proper IWGP world heavyweight championship title run .
Agreed. I remembered when he first won the IWGP Heavyweight championship in February 2019 and he held the title for only 1.5 months with 0 successful title defenses. Bro lost to Okada of all people 💀💀
