This will go great in adiorama i will make for my middle sister. Ashtray cigarettes a book and a cup of tea/coffee. Thanks so much for always inspiring. I know I'm late to the party again.
Oh my! Thank you so much. Just saw you posted this on Facebook. I honestly for the life of me couldn't figure out how to do that even after watching a few videos on UA-cam. So again, thank you.
those ones came out way better then my clay ashtray...lol then again it was one of my first pieces ...try a smoke technique...I took the transparent clay and made smoke coming from the cig ..teeny snakes and twisted and curled upwards. Did I see a slight lipstick stain?!???❤❤
Yes! You spotted the lipstick stain! I should've added some smoke. I saw someone use a little polyfill (like what you use to stuff pillows). I don't own translucent clay. It's always sold out when I go to Michael's. Maybe I need to break down and just buy some off of Amazon.
@@queencityminis well it turn out lovely..and I have a big set order of chalk pastels coming in any day now so I'm excited to add this to my nostalgic ashtray stands. I should of invested in the chalks long ago, it's finally happening! I no longer have my ashtray, I was able to give it away as a freebie when someone purchased a vintage carton of Marlboro cigs from me.
Thank you! I only harden the clay with the heat gun for a minute or so. It's still pliable until it cools. I wouldn't use the technique on large or thick pieces but it works great on small pieces. It helps me keep the project moving. I explain the rubbing alcohol more in the DIY cigarette & ashes video but it's breaks the surface tension so glue can flow in between the tiny particles. Otherwise, the glue would just puddle on top and wouldn't work nearly as well. I have tried to do it without the rubbing alcohol and it's a fail.
I just can't help but cringe and make faces watching cigarette content, I hate them so but they do look real, so I guess it's a testament to how accurate your minis are?
Absolutely. I rarely bake my polymer clay in the oven. The clay is stronger when it's baked in the oven but it's much faster and more convenient to bake it with the heat gun. It burns quickly so you need to keep moving the heat gun. I bake clay in folded aluminum foil or a silicon cup.

LOL! You peeked into my ashtrays. We’ll done.
Haha thank you
@@queencityminis you’re welcome.
So a few questions for you… how long does it take to harden the clay with a heat gun? Why the alcohol? Nice job. They look like the real deal!
Thank you!

I hear ya! These look like they smell 🤣

Do you have to use a heat gun or can you just let it dry out?
You can just let it air dry. I use a heat gun to dry almost everything so I can keep filming moving along.
Wait, what? Can you bake polymerclay with the heatgun? That is great information because i mostly do tiny things with my clay
