Talking about nice pollock I had a double-header 40 and 42 on a jig and tube teaser. Got ‘em while fishing on the Starstream out of Freeport years ago with Capt. Richie Kessinger. We were fishing in a snowstorm and when we got back we had to dig our cars out for hours. In addition to the pollock I had several cod over 35 and another half a dozen market size. We had bergals, cunners or what you call chogies. It’s funny I’ve never had that term until I started watching your vids. Great work on your vids and tons of laughs!
Have you thought about starting a Team Grubbz? Great ways to start some merchandise, committed season membership that gives some discount headboat tickets and also carpooling, etc..
Love pollock. Cod used to until heard about worms, must be mental thing? Love sea bass too lol. I sometimes bring a horseradish sauce, half mayo half sour cream, as much horseradish as like, little dry mustard and some chives. Great for cooked fish too.
Is that a Googan only boat? Just kidding but what’s with the speed jigging reel speed and the heavy pumping of there rods? I even spotted a spinner or two! What’s the temp that day? The guys are dressed like there in Siberia especially wearing those triple ply gloves! The best thing in the video is your sense of humor! Keep the vids coming!
As mates on a party boats we sure experience some crazy days etc. Only a matter of weeks before we're in that salt water .... cant wait till the spring brother 🤙🤙🤙🤙 I send my greeting from us at the marylin jean 5 sheepshead bay Brooklyn....
How has the fishing been for you guys at the MJ5? Fishing just on the weekends for the cod trips right? Thinking about coming down next weekend-weather pending
It depends on what your fishing for but I rather do that when I’m fluke fishing because a reel of light gear isn’t meant to do a straight crank with hi speed geared baitcasters. and then tell the mate that if I lose it it’s my fault don’t worry about it.
What Americans who fish the Atlantic call pollock are known as coalfish or saithe on the eastern Atlantic ( Europe). Atlantic pollack are only found on the european side. I had to clear my confusion up.
Props to you for trying that bergall raw, they taste absolutely fine. I've seen people throw back fat 14-15 inchers because of the bad rap they get. If i pull one up and it has meat on it, fuck yeah ill keep it why not

@@tonynicoletti8161 captain Gregg is a cocky jackass. Just because they followed the laws and regulations doesn't mean they should've particularly fished for them. I was a party boat mate in the 70s and 80s. Great job and memories...thank you!

Those dog fish are a real pest. I heard they are a delicacy in England. They call them rock salmon.
Hahaha rock salmon
Great Video Todd Honestly brotha. Have you ever caught a Goliath Fish brotha tight lines and stay safe
I want to catch a Goliath grouper
Thank you for telling him to stop pumping the rod, all it does put a bigger gap in the hook set to let the fish swim off!
