Good video. Which player-types do you think Chelsea need to buy, to make the system work better than it currently is? In other words, which players/player-types can strengthen Chelsea?
They definitely need to find a replacement for rudiger. Also someone to compete as a RWB and CB like Reece James but also give them depth for Thiago. Then one striker to either play with havertz or challenge him for their number 1 spot
@@regardlessowusuantwi2381 Well Gnabry and Dembele will be good buys. I'd sanction a Gnabry move more because I see Dembele making Tuchel alter the system. Dembele for much of his bright and stunted career (even at BVB with Tuchel) enjoys playing on the wings, hugging the touchline, and attacking the opposition defender in a one-on-one situation. (this defender doesn't necessarily have to be a fullback but the player in close proximity) This doesn't help the back 3 system currently deployed at the BRIDGE. Gnabry is comfortable in both the half-spaces and wings irrespective of the deployed META and is able to put in the shift to help his team. If Gnabry is in the half-spaces the central midfielders are assured they have help coming from the front likewise the full backs if Gnabry is assigned a wing role. Now this doesn't mean, Dembele might make a bad buy, but it might be a clear indication that Tuchel might want the team to sometimes deploy in a proper back 4 META. Which means Dembele's buy might hinge on an incoming brilliant central midfielder, a complete upgrade to Jorginho and Kovacic or perhaps Tuchel will have to improve attacking midfielders like Pulisic, Havertz and even consider Ziyech playing this role, rejuvenating his Twente days. Another option is get a young ball playing DM. Gnabry suites the system, Dembele offers a new system and new player roles. As for the two mentioned central defenders. They are good but I would prefer a central defender with fullback capabilities (or vice-versa) so Tuchel will be able to exploit the concept of overlapping centrebacks. When the game shifts to the wings they kick in as fullback, when the game shifts to the centre, they are pseudo inverted fullback that can make carries or play make. Tuchels 343 needs fluidity which will make them less and less predictable especially against high pressing sides like city and Liv. Goodluck to any team that wants to press high, a solid defensive, yet counterattcking side, who adopts rotational play. Goodluck.
I noticed something you showed in the video, which is the norm, these days. Central Midfielders in a back three system tend to remain in there zone or at best one will drop off into the defence, the other in the attack. Is it possible to stagger the central midfielders (horizontally) and not the central defenders and maybe the wingbacks and wingers/am can exploit the new space, since the defenders are the ones having the ball? Is it possible?
One of thee great systems of the last 10 years
Amazing 👍❤💯

If the team have inverted wingbacks, the formation become 3223 👍🏾
