I never tire of hearing and seeing this wonderful interpretation, a mix of instruments and human beings happily collaborating, expressing joy and contentment. For me this is the best performance of Heart And Soul of which I am a longtime fan. Hoagy Carmichael would be happy to hear what they did with one of his most beloved compositions.
To watch the facial expressions of Lisa Fischer brings me such physical pleasure and the whole ensemble bring this piece (that I played on the piano at the age of 12,) is like no other version I have ever seen or heard. Thank you Yo Yo and may you go on forever!

@YoYoMa no I am trying to think on how to answer the question. The only time I had an opportunity to see you live was at the Zee. You did perform with the Cape Symphony but I wasn’t able to attend. I have tried to watch your interviews and find how you hear music and how you interpret a piece. My tastes in music are eclectic. I have to admit that my favorite music is classical guitar. Sometimes Bach is too heavy for me, but when I hear you play a piece I listen to hear how you hear the music. The Cape Symphony is a favorite of mine and Jung-Ho Pak has taught me to hear music. I live on Cape Cod. And there are many good musicians here, both classical and jazz. I do have a cd . I do listen to your tiny desk concert from NPR. Thank you.
It is amazing that the musicians are collaborating so well, enjoying the moment, and producing such wonder music. Why I can not see such collaboration at my workplace🤔?

I was listening to Air on the G string by Hauser just now and then UA-cam smoothly slipped to this equally beautiful song. What surprised me is how few people have heard this song and have given a thumb up compared Hauser's ones. It is a pity.

Such a great performance and arrangement, filled with humor, surprises and warmth up the wazoo. Love the playful way it shifts gears, fools you at the start. Oh, and that one piano chord crashing down mid-way---cracked me up. Considering the legacy of the song, conceived by Carmichael and Loesser, and then, over time ,played by all age and skill levels on upright pianos in homes across the land---and, now, how it's all brought together, let alone with Silk Road in tow----well, I think it's particularly deserving of Grammy nominations.
