For those asking, the custom bookshelf is from MYCS and here's my review (unsponsored)!
    Pros:
    - Fully customisable including the width, height, 2 depth to choose from, where to put drawers & cupboards and even backing
    - Pretty easy to build once you understand the concept
    - Many colours to choose from. We have oak veneer that looks pretty in natural lighting
    Cons:
    - Not that modular since each shelf is specific to the customisation
    - Takes 2 people to build
    - Quality doesn't meet expectations when you think about the price (little things like glue peels at the edges, raw plywood drawers)
    Frustrations:
    - Long delivery time with delays (It said 7 weeks, but took 15)
    - Not the best customer service. When we emailed about the delay, they just kept saying they have no materials in the warehouse
    - Parts were missing or wrongly shipped (We still can't install our drawers because the wrong sliders were sent)
Overall, despite the frustrations, we don't regret the purchase since we needed something customizable to accommodate the wall vent, and we bought it at 40% off (Watch out for sales!) It looks great and has plenty of storage too 😊

Thanks for this review. I was wondering about getting shelving from MYCS, but I was concerned about the quality. I bought a customised sofa from them before and I love it despite feeling like the legs could have supported the sofa better. I have a Frame TV and a few hanging pictures for a gallery wall but I think it needs some more rustic looking shelving to keep the apartment looking too modern only. Love the way it looks in your place.

It looks so good. I like the window covering - it sort of brings out the 70s vibe of the built ins but its also airy and light with the plants and colours. :) really homey

If you find your plants aren’t getting enough sun, try double curtains. I use lace in one layer for privacy while allowing almost full sunlight, with blackout curtains I can pull over them at night. 🪴😊☀️✨

I agree. Sheer curtains for privacy during the day and heavier curtains at night. Or translucent top down bottom up blinds. Shoji would be even better. 😊

I would personally use the window film only on the 'eye level', leaving the bottom half and possibly some of the top uncovered (kind of like those blinds that move up and down). This would give you more privacy, but would still leave you some of the view and a bit more unfiltered light 😊But I also keep my windows uncovered 99% of the time, so I might be a bit biased 😅

I like what you did with the dinning room. The shelves are very nice. I can understand wanting privacy. I think the frosted windows are a good solution. Your puppy is so cute. The paw thought the gate got me. It's like she was saying I miss you mom.

The new wall unit looks very nice, tons of storage.
Window film - my opinion - I would remove the top 1/3 to be able to view the sky, see the weather, no one could see in that high, let in more light.

I personally love watching nature, especially sunset or blue sky with white clouds. So I probably won’t cover the window. But it’s also true I also want privacy, there this window film that can make your window turn invisible during the day and only visible if you turn light on. Maybe I will consider that, or putting some lace curtains, because my love seeing sky is bigger than privacy to be honest 😅

I love your calming videos! And the shelves are beautiful. But oh dear, as a ceramicist myself, that final thrifted jug with the flower decoration was gorgeous and classic. If that was studio made, meaning it was made by a ceramicist rather than a big box store (you can tell from the bottom) then it was very beautiful, a fine work, and worth preserving! If it's real you could get the paint etc off it in time.
I know the method of painting ceramics, but my goodness please try to do it with big box ceramics rather than amazing studio pottery!!!

Mine is from here - amzn.to/48Rd0hT but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to anything but sheer curtains, they are quite thin and not the strongest! We put the curtains up in the last dining room makeover video, but I didn't have any particular tips to share 😅 Our ceiling isn't really high, it's only 2.4m!

I wondered if the plants would provide enough screening/privacy.
I expect you already considered if they get enough light with the window film
I have a shrub outside my window that functions as a privacy screen. It's getting a bit too dense now and is blocking too much light so I'm thinking of planting some bamboo, perhaps in containers, to give a foresty vibe while giving me privacy and enough light.

As usual, your DIY turned out beautifully! I like the window vinyl, too, and was hoping you would pick that one. I put vinyl on the small window in our bathroom. I had plastic white blinds in there, and with the humidity from the shower, it was impossible to keep them clean, OR to clean them. It gives us privacy, and light and I love it. Keep
