the final result is so beautiful and cozy!! i was not sold on the track shelving at first but ahhh the decors have balanced everything and brought comforting elements back to the room. happy holidays to you and Pat! looking forward to your 2023 DIYs!
I absolutely understand your struggle with the cabinets. We painted half of one wall in the study dark green. The color selection took forever. And it always looked great in my imaginations and Pinterest ideas. But when the wall was painted, I didn't feel comfortable at all and i was so depressed. Well, and now the wall is white and we will design the room like the rest of the apartment in warm beige and brown tones. I think sometimes it's absolutely ok not to dare anything and to stay with what you have always felt comfortable😊
I'm currently little by little doing my home office and even though the use of the room is completely different, watching how you do your space inspires me a lot on mine !
I don't usually comment on many videos, but honestly your videos are so calming, creative and motivating! Definitely helping make decisions for my new flat ☺️
As frustrating as DIY can be the process is so therapeutic. I really like how you showed the process of changing your mind and painting that piece before going to sleep. I can totally relate 😂
I've never related so much to a content creator like this before haha. I have adhd and i'm so indecisive and constantly changing the layout of our house, which includes doing a lot of diy projects. Hearing “It doesn’t have to be perfect now, I can always change it" is so comforting especially when I think about all the times I did a project just to re-do it later on since I changed my mind about it.
Beautiful! I really like the new color for the apothecary cabinet along with the gold pulls, make it even more spectacular! The room has such a calming & soothing vibe. I LOVE IT!! Enjoy your day!!!
I love UA-camrs who keep it real. ❤ We don't always end up loving our first choice of colour or layout or whatever it is we're working on. And whilst it feels disappointing to have spent time/money/effort on something we don't end up liking, it's totally fine to go back to the drawing board and do what you know you like 😊
I really like this space and especially all your decor! Functional yet calming and cute! I think it was a great idea to divide the cabinets again, now it really does not seem to take up that whole corner
Your spatial brain is pretty amazing. I love your creativity and your drive to create. Do not be too hard on yourself. You can fix things, no need to stress the small stuff.
You are so talented, Hillary! I agree that your videos are very inspiring. I would love to see more of your planning process. You have obviously spent (a lot of?) time planning it all out, and it is great to see how it all comes together so beautifully.
It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
I love that you do everything properly, and I can definitely relate to the indecision/hating something halfway through. Oh well! That's how these things go🫠
i love how indecisive you are in the middle of doing projects because thats exactly how i am as well. theres also no patience for me to wait or sleep on options ahahah. the momentum to get everything done here and now IS STRONK 😅😅💕💕
Tell me you’re a DIY UA-camr without telling me you’re a DIY UA-camr 😆 Place looks absolutely gorgeous, Hill, but then again it always does when you’re doing room makeovers. Well done! 😊
The space is soooo adorable! And I love all the little details you put into it! Going to buy the rattan doors for my shelves in my livingroom! Was going to buy new cabinets but I can use my shelves I already have and dress them up! UUuuuu I can't wait! ❤Thank you for sharing your ideas and process!
13:10 oh dang, as a fellow creative, I felt that SO bad 🥲 Scrapping a project is never fun, but it's really inspiring to see you move onward and the great result afterwards :) ♥ I've been following your channel for a while, and I think this is my favourite home project of yours by far~ its always so nice to see the space in which one creates, and this is giving me all sorts of inspiration (the curtain shower? genius!) Thanks as always for sharing your projects and process with us, roller coasters and all~ :))) btw I hope you take this as a compliment but I'm seriously envious of your wall-drilling skills in particular~ I've put up many a shelf, but none ever look as clean as yours 🥲👍
Aw thank you so much! I didn't have high expectations for this room but ended up loving it too. As for the wall drilling, you just need more practice! 😄 I couldn't do it properly for the first few months either~
Thank u so much for this u are so transparent and u showed us that we don't need to spend a lot a use what we can afford and still create a beautiful space that we love
I really appreciated how honest you were about your decision making process, what a mood lmao thank you for sharing your entire process, I really enjoyed watching it!
So good, as always! I laughed when you said "Just kidding" I couldn't sleep until I fixed it! :) Kudos for trying something new and for just simply fixing it when you didn't love it.
I always look forward to your posts. Rubber gloves will help getting something unstuck, I use mine whenever I can’t get a jar top open or a screwed on top off.😀
Cloudyhills is genies in DIY yet being aesthetic ✌🏻 pleasing to watch. Sometimes I feel we should have love option in UA-cam likes 😁 you gonna have it more !
Ça vous réussi de ne pas trop réfléchir 😉 le résultat est top 🤗🤩 Avoir un endroit dédié et une ambiance agréable est plus motivant pour travailler avec plaisir. Ce petit coin est très mignon 😍👌
Wow what an incredibly inspirational video and stunning result!!! I’m so happy for you and your space. I am in the midst of a complete office / garage DIY reno myself and am so impressed by your skills and eye! Thank you!! ❤
I’m new to the DIY game, but maybe try using a wood conditioner on the raw pine shelves and THEN you can stain them. Wood conditioner should help reduce blotching (which makes the wood grain look “busy,” as you stated). If you try it out, please let me know how it turns out! Good luck!
I was just watching your video and noticed the book from London about poetry was kinda a emerald green color I'm mentioning this because from about 1814 to the 1900 emerald green was a very popular color but people stopped using it because they discovered it was toxic and could get people really sick it was found in a lot of old books too. I just wanted to let you know so that your safe😁 I would get it checked out to be sure. Love your videos they bring me so much comfort❤
I love the vlog and the new room 🙌🏼 I immediately was so happy to hear you say that you didn't have to over think in decorating your new space. I also love the antiques you show and the stationary you have organized. I have so much stationary and needs to be displayed but I need to also finish unpacking in my new home to see how to display my stationary collection 🙌🏼✨ I cannot wait until your next video ❤️
I related so much when you tried to experiment with color onto the faux apothecary unit and ended up hating it. I do that so much with some of the ceramics I have painted. I branch out with bright colors and then absolutely wipe them and start again haha! This was such a good video!! Your space turned out so nice!!
I love those see through doors. It reminds me of the types that you would find in SE Asia... and in my grandfather's house. Wanted to find something similar for a long time, but isn't able to do so.
I’ve been binging you ever since I got to know your videos. Can’t get enough of you’re creative and beautiful ideas. It gave me the energy to do something better in my place !! 😍 thank you so much, and I hope to see your more creative side, I’ve seen some beautiful drawings already that I really love (especially the bear with his very cute fire friend) !!
❤thank you for sharing your project with us. it was fun to watch. for the new year, we are starting small projects around the house, so this video gave us a few tips.❤
I liked the look of the anthracite gray but I think the reason the cabinet looked off was because it didn’t match the rest of the room. If it had been placed in a room with other things in a similar color it would’ve looked great
I love the idea of using flexi storage brackets and having the desk within that, I have a studio that looks like a herd of elephants trampled through, so organised storage is a must given I have so many interests lol
Yeah, gray paints almost always have a blue hue. I found out the hard way too! Sometimes it works. But now I always pick a warmer neutral color, or something that has green undertones instead of blue.
You could paint in between the fake panelling of the cabinet to create a "shadow" and make them look more like drawers. This way they would match the actual separation of the doors better
My partner and I found your channel a couple months ago. Now we have most things from your IKEA kitchen video, I've made floating shelves for our study and have my own peg board of tools:) Thank you for sharing your DIY journey with us! I never would have thought lil asian girls like us would be able to do such cool things like that (traditional upbringing amiright?) I didn't get to see that planning website that you were using. Would you be able to share? Cheers!
This is my first video from your channel, really digging the chill vibe your video gives off. The little vintage wheels are so cute... love the details you added to the room in the end. Greetings from another person in Germany
You always do such a great job! I need to organize my building materials as well, it's hard to get inspired if everything is a mess.... I wish you a warm and cozy holiday season!🎄❤
The shower curtain was a genius idea! Especially how you hid it away in the basket at the top. Can’t wait to see how you use this space.
when cloudyhills post i immediately click
It was a very good decision to paint that cabinet. Your room turned out so beautiful. Good work!
Thank you for showing us how you hated the first result, it made it so much more real 💚
“It doesn’t have to be perfect now, I can always change it.”
Thank you, I needed to hear this today. ❤
i feel so inspired watching your design process, and your videography is so cozy and feels like we're in it together! thanks for sharing :)
❤️❤️❤️
I love that one side of the room is just utility and storage and the other has so much space to be open and creative
i burst out laughing when you said "I hate it" lol oh bless
the end result is sooooo nice 😭 amazingggg!
Dodie what are you doing here😂❤ I love that you watch these xx
I love the honesty of a DIY not working out like you planned. We've all been there, but no one on YT shows it.

Yessss it was looking too chunky, I love how floaty it looks now!
Your space is not only efficient but calming and beautiful. Great job ❤
Your spatial brain is pretty amazing. I love your creativity and your drive to create.

The finished colors are so perfect and soothing
Love the end result, and the lighter color on the apothecary unit SO MUCH BETTER. ❤
It's great how you recouped that cabinet and managed to change it to improve it. the end result was so nice. Love the light grey and gold handles.
13:10 oh dang, as a fellow creative, I felt that SO bad 🥲 Scrapping a project is never fun, but it's really inspiring to see you move onward and the great result afterwards :) ♥

U did a right thing about the hanging cabinet. Nice re-coloured 😁👍👍👍

You did a fantastic job! It's so organized and looks beautiful.

Video Idea: the stuff for DYI you have, like machines products and where you buy stuff for DYI. Would be very helpful :)
