at around 5:28, under Engine Control Module, what does date programed refer to .. ? Does it refer to when the last time the ECM was flashed (calibrated) ?

I think you would have to go to module diagnostics and then the relevant Ecu and then go to data display

If you got to the bottom option where it asks you to switch colours, it will close that box and it won't come back again :)
