  • Well, I did it, I finally bought the Scangrip Multimatch 2! And so, here is an unboxing and brief overview of the features befor I do a full review and describe the features in depth.
Scangrip's Multimatch 2, Sunmatch 2 and D-Match 2 come from the Detailing and Colour Match range, which are aimed at detailers wanting to find paint defects, and bodyshops who need to check for accurate paint matches, and it's certainly lives up to its reputation.
So the latest incarnation of Scangrips amazing lights are here, and this is the Multimatch 2 version. I was undecided as to whether I should get the older Multimatch, or the Sunmatch, but I went for the Multimatch 2. There are a few new features on this light compares to the old version that make it even more improved.
I got my Multimatch 2 from Alpha Pneumatics (in the UK): www.nailers.co....
Although they don't have the detailing range on their website if you give them a call they will help you out. I found them really helpful.

Thanks mate, I didn't know if I waffled a bit, but once I got in to it I couldn't stop talking! It came the day after I ordered it and it's ace! I can't believe how much it shows up defects straight away, it's unreal. The only downside currently is the price. I didn't end up getting it from Polished Bliss, I got it from a place called Alpha Pneumatics who are a Scangrip Dealer. It's a shame you can't hire them. The thing is, see how you go with the zach lights first. The Scangrip is amazing but, you still need other things like the Cree. I think I might also need to get it on a stand too, as it'll be more workable then - where as your zach lights are already on a stand.

your video was consise not once did i think you waffled and if you did its not a bad thing because its can only mean more information :)
lol renting them is a brilliant idea!!! can i rent yours when you done lol
i was thinking how you could put them on a stand...youd probably need a tripod female to female spigot with a tread same as the one on the scangrip, long bolt to go through light and spigot and some type of doorknob/handle to add to the end of the bolt which you may find all at b&q and add it to any microphone or tripod stand.

Cheer mate, it's always nice to hear.
I'm thinking of a PA Speaker stand as this is closer to the scangrip design, plus the tube is 35mm which is stronger. i was thinking of it last night and came up with some ideas. They have a plate with a wing nut that may work, or I have some plans.

I ordered the t6 light following your link, and besides that you have to just alter the slide slightly to get rid of the square pattern of the bulb..it's a cracking light mate, and for the price i'd say buy four of them, a i4 nitecore battery charger and four 18650 lg batterys and spread the beams out in your garage it would be brill, and the nitecore will recharge any battery chemistry that is capable...lol.....but i guess if i was going to correct a car that was worth shed loads...i might just go for one....regards rich.

Cheers Rich, I'm glad you like it. I back it out to the first dot, and I think that works the best. I use it for everything around the house! It's the only torch I never loose. I think i'm going to have to switch to the 18650 batteries, the torch eats AAA's and they don't last at all so I'll probably go with your recommendation for it so thanks for that :-)
The Scangrip is ace, but it doesn't fit in my pocket like the T6 LOL!

around £230-£250 & well worth the invest from what many people have said who own them and especially if your going to do the whole process of full decontamination, tar and fallout, clay, 3 stage machine polish, sealant, wax etc you want to make sure all defects holograms swirls etc are seen and removed on the first go , im tempted to get one myself... looking forward to the in depth review to see pros and cons

+JP Details most places sell them for around £250, if you find them cheaper and ring alpha pneumatics he'll try to beat the price.
