The New Yorker rapper speaks on her outlook on fashion, society, feminism and talks about the challenges women have to face today. Princess Nokia takes part in our new video series “Exploring Authenticity” along with other personalities and artists that have interesting stories and are also 100% Desigual.

#4 Fashion is a way of self-love
“I love putting things together, taking them apart. I love to dress up, I love to be different characters. I love how great I feel when I express myself through fashion, it's a way of self-loving that makes me feel authentic, confident and strong”
#5 You don´t have to fit in. Be a non-conformist!
“Everyone should look for their own space. There is no standard you have to appeal to, you don't have to conform to what is normal. I´m a non-conformist - I don't try to fit in to society.”
#6 Never forget where you come from
“I like to keep the relationships with my community and my family alive, I love to get back to my community, work with them and create common links. I feel very proud of my community, they reflect our character and personality.”
#7 Love yourself the way you are, embrace all your different sides
“I've always embraced being different because it is what makes you special. Why would you want to be normal? Why would you wanna be the same as everyone else?”

I love this young woman becoming. I say young woman becoming because I am a mama and I have been following her music a while and have seen her beautiful evolution. I also have a daughter (that is around her age) that loves her.
