The reason the general public hasn't embraced Azealia is cuz she brings a brash sense honesty and rudeness that people just can't get down with. It's fun and confident. She's not afraid to be aggressive and her lyrics aren't easily digested because they're more thought out and clever. Just shut the fuck up about looks or numbers of hits and enjoy the music. Back in the 90s, black vocals over House edm like La Bouche "Wanna Be My Lover" Crystal Waters "Gypsy" Mark "Return of the Mac" Fatboy Slim "Song for Shelter" and Haddaway "What Is Love" was the thing and she radiates that throwback NYC culture, juxtaposed with modern hip hop.
