Fun fact. Her mom said “wth are you doing you KNOW you can’t dance?!” To which she apparently agreed. & yet her moves are so subtle & iconic at the same time.
2:16 is straight up laced with crack!!!! Let’s get one thing straight: she still has ‘it.’ I remember seeing her in LA years ago, and just her breathwork alone was mind-blowing. The atmosphere was a damn stampede ; it was the kind of concert where you wouldn’t necessarily want your friends to know you’re there. When she finally hit the stage, the auditorium literally vibrated; even bitches serving beer were concerned asf lol She was fashionably late, of course, but delivered a powerhouse performance with just one outfit and no dancers. When she pulled out that megaphone, I knew she’s stayed true to her artistry. She has a strong following, selling out shows from LA to Sydney (this year) I used to separate an artist’s private life from their art, but nowadays, it’s hard to ignore the problematic aspects but because now in general people associate you are okay with their behavior if you listen to them. Still, you can’t deny her talent. She knows how to keep us hooked, dropping a song here and there to keep that coin rolling in her purse, i will forever be a fan lol
I'd say public opinion is starting to sway back sorta in her favor if you think about it, like a lot of really good artists are practically fucking psychopaths so I mean we can appreciate her but not support her words.
Quite the list - Banks has had feuds with people including Grimes, Elon Mus], Remy Ma Cardi B, Zayn Malik, Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, T.I., Iggy Azalea, Action Bronson, Lil' Kim, Skai Jackson, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Erykah Badu, Kreayshawn, Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Baauer, Nicki Minaj, Dominique Young Unique, Jim Jones, Beyoncé, Angel Haze, Nick Cannon, Lily Allen, Russell Crowe, RZA, SZA, Sarah Palin, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem, RuPaul Charles, Perez Hilton, Diplo, Funkmaster Flex, The Stone Roses, K. Michelle, Shystie, Amanda Brunker, Troy Carter, Cupcakke, Mariah Lynn, Sia, Disclosure, and Wendy Williams.

Back in the 90s, black vocals over House edm like La Bouche "Wanna Be My Lover" Crystal Waters "Gypsy" Mark "Return of the Mac" Fatboy Slim "Song for Shelter" and Haddaway "What Is Love" was the thing and she radiates that throwback NYC culture, juxtaposed with modern hip hop. She really is iconic for this like it or not right? However I agree that she switched between several genres and ranges.
Fun fact. Her mom said “wth are you doing you KNOW you can’t dance?!” To which she apparently agreed.
& yet her moves are so subtle & iconic at the same time.
Well said, and yes she's got mad rhythm.

This one of the best records to come out on NyC since 2010
Damn straight 🔥!
She was only 20 years old here, back in 2012, raw talent.
We'll never hear music like this again
I mean she arguably created a new genre of music
and I’m living for it
she did a cultural reset fr
This song is 9 years old
She makes mainly house music which originated in the 80s
@@Isa-qh3ue right this is kinda inspired by the UK but at the same time she’s different
this entire album was ahead of its time, truly genius
2:16 is straight up laced with crack!!!! Let’s get one thing straight: she still has ‘it.’ I remember seeing her in LA years ago, and just her breathwork alone was mind-blowing. The atmosphere was a damn stampede ; it was the kind of concert where you wouldn’t necessarily want your friends to know you’re there. When she finally hit the stage, the auditorium literally vibrated; even bitches serving beer were concerned asf lol
She was fashionably late, of course, but delivered a powerhouse performance with just one outfit and no dancers. When she pulled out that megaphone, I knew she’s stayed true to her artistry. She has a strong following, selling out shows from LA to Sydney (this year)
I used to separate an artist’s private life from their art, but nowadays, it’s hard to ignore the problematic aspects but because now in general people associate you are okay with their behavior if you listen to them. Still, you can’t deny her talent. She knows how to keep us hooked, dropping a song here and there to keep that coin rolling in her purse, i will forever be a fan lol
What..
Belas palavras
Calm down
I want this played at my funeral
if only she never made a twitter...
Hau Hala 🤦♀️ ikr could’ve sold millions
I'd say public opinion is starting to sway back sorta in her favor if you think about it, like a lot of really good artists are practically fucking psychopaths so I mean we can appreciate her but not support her words.

I just heard this song for the first time this week. And I’m soooo mad that I missed it for all these years!! This is incredible! Insane! And this is not even my preferred genre of music. I keep playing it over and over!
Nah, man! Be happy you can experience it as a novel, great song now. You have the benefit of already knowing she self-sabotaged. It's heartbreaking for me; i wanted to be a fan so much, but it's the hateful personality, attacking great artists with no provocation that did it for me.

People have no idea how NY her music is. Her house hip hop sound is life. Too many of you are too stuck on that either pop hip hop or southern and west coast sounds. you just don't know anything about this.
Ashley Shautice Exactly. I'm southern, but I'm old enough to remember when there were several famous groups doing hip house. People always say Queen Latifah's name when they list women rappers, but I think most of them don't know that she recorded one of the biggest hip-house songs.
Yeah agreed,, NYC is breaking awesome sounds right now… the absolute best music happening there,,
cheers

her sound is unique even for new york.
Yet the NY is steady being clowned on in WorldStar. :c Which source is better. ;c
***** I must be crazy to try and respond to this level of stupid. Before you comment and trust me darling, nothing of what you said has any correlation of what I said other than you merely cringed at the fact I stated Worldstar. Please don't comment on what I said, excuse me, my bad, I shouldn't be making smart jokes in front of the slow. It's not fun and it makes me look like a bully. But please tell me how myself making fun of the fact she blatantly dissed all of the other states hoods and said NY is better in a way. Yet, on Worldstar people are dissing the NY as a whole. You can't put one side down and try to lift your own. That's not cool at all. So! Don't comment on my stuff if you can't catch the joke. Kay? Go watch some Nigga Turtles. You need them in your life. @@DaveG425 No, the OC definitely had it right the first time. Let’s not start the foolishness.
No one says any white girl has a “soulful” voice. Its cuz she black
@@DaveG425 No baby. Adele has a very soulful voice, and she’s white as snow. I much rather someone say I have a voice full of soul and passion, than for someone to say I have a “black” voice.
The whole soul genre is a black genre. Soul brothas and soul sistas refer to black people. Sure people are amazed with adel because wow, she’s white, but has so much “soul” in her voice. Meaning she sounds black. You never hear anyone say taylor swift has a soulful voice bc she sing white girl pop music.
