Thank you!! I love learning about these places and being able to experience them first hand is so incredibly special. I try my best to pass along the facts that I learn so hopefully others will be intrigued to visit as well. Thank you for commenting, we appreciate it ❤️🙏
I am Thai. I am very grateful that you sharing the beautiful part of my country. Nice to see you happy and enjoy the temples and the Grand Palace. Thanks a lot :-)
The Grand Palace is just amazing. I spent Boxing Day 2008 there. Full of splendour and glory. Still blows my mind knowing how it was built ! Another great video guys! You sure are stirring up memories, many happy memories . 🤟
Thanks Mark! It really is an amazing place to visit. Well, all of them really. And you’re right, the hand crafted detail of these temples is insane 😮😮😮
Mark Roke wow!!! I look forward to your comments because you always share your great experiences 😊 travel connects people in that way! Was the Grand Palace crazy busy when you were there in 2008?
Stacia Sleight , it was bonkers ! Xmas means little to me for all sorts of reasons which is why I leapt on a plane on Xmas day. Arrived in Bangkock at around 10:00 am local time which was around a quarter past looney my time. The GP was heaving ! People everywhere and yet it was so tranquil and I felt safe and at peace with myself. I just looked back at my photos ( dam I was I had the kit I’ve got now )..... ah well all the more reason to shoot of there again. 😋
I’m Thai and want to tell you that no need to worry about pronunciation. 😸 Most of all Thai people don’t care it much, it isn’t a big deal, some feel you are cute when you pronounce it incorrectly. In fact , Royal Society of Thailand has install the certain Royal Thai General System of Transcription for romanising Thai words but that system might not strong enough to encourage the entire citizen in country to use that system. Not like “Pin Yin” romanising system of China that’s popular and all Chinese and foreingers can rely on it, everyone accepts it. P sound words always romanise to Ph, for example, ภูเก็ต is pronounce like “PU-GED” / “POO-GED” but be written “PHUKET” The Institue doesn’t promote this system much enough so it is used only in bureaucratic applications such as name of city, province, road, transportation, place, office etc. and small group of acedemic persons use it. 😹 So, pronounce as the way you got it.
I'm local Bangkokian and last year I revisited the grand palace for the first time in more than 10 years. I was shocked by the number of tourists and many of them were incredibly loud.
Yes and these people are the same people that contribute to the Thai tourist attractions and shows and rides where elephants are used and abused and broken.. all these people are so occupied with themselves and self centred; they think they know where they are and that they can 'see' but they dont see and they dont look!
I love how you shot elaborate dramatic scenes and fine details of all places. and also how you educate and give important info and your comments to the viewers
You could see the wonder in Ryan's eyes! If it looks this good on video, I can't imagine how great it must have been in person. Thanks for sharing this! I binge watched the last 3 videos!
Hey man! Yes, I was definitely filled with wonder. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. What an adventure 😮 Thanks for always watching and supporting 🙏🏻
A Buddhist temple had existed at the site of Wat Arun since the time of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It was then known as Wat Makok, after the village of Bang Makok in which it was situated. (Makok is the Thai name for the Spondias pinnata plant.) According to the historian Prince Damrong Rajanubhab, the temple was shown in French maps during the reign of King Narai (1656-1688).
We absolutely love Thailand. So much culture and the places we have visited have been amazing! Can’t wait to explore even more 👍🏻 Welcome to the channel 🙏🏻❤️
the way you put some historical information and fact about places you've gone and shared with us is really helpful for other tourists and also made a content enjoyable to watch. Thank you
Thanks Gavinn! So glad to hear you find our videos entertaining. We always want to share some facts on the places we visit while also incorporating some nice cinematics too. Love hearing comments like this. Great to have you as part of the DBVfam! 🙏🏻❤️
I reccommend Wat Phu Khao Thong. It located on the top hill which is the highest point in Bangkok. By around the pagoda on the top we can see the view of Bangkok 360degree panorama. This temple is also one of Royal Temples. It was only one temple in Bangkok that placed relic(the authentic fragment of the bone)of Buddha (in the base of pagoda) from India in the reign of King Rama 5
When I started watching the video, I thought oh great a couple that's probably going to talk throughout the video and be annoying. You two were awesome, took great footage and captured the essence of Bangkok. I want to go there so badly!
Whew! I started reading this comment and was thinking it was going south haha 😂 So glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching. Be sure to check out our other Thailand videos when you can. Plenty more cinematic shots 😊
I' m thai lady , so pround my country very much.My country have many places. Ex.Wat Pa Pu Kon, Thamlung Kungnan Nangnoung ,Wat Pha Son Keaw ....( sory I know alittle enlish , ) thank you so much for my country.
Your macro shots and slow pans set your vlogs apart. Excellent work. I also agree with others about your commentary being on point. Your descriptions of the the good and bad, the exciting and the less than anticipated helps us all. Thank you.
Hi DDIII3! Thanks so much for the nice comment. Love when people notice the hard work put into the broll 🙏🏻 And yes, Stacia definitely adds to that entertainment value with all her research on the locations we visit. All together, we feel it’s a great way to deliver content. Thank you for watching 🙏🏻❤️😊
DDIII3 thank you!! This is a wonderful comment and we always appreciate feedback. We try to keep all the commentary straight up and real, because I think a lot of other vlogs forget to mention the “not so good parts” about massive tourists destinations and then people get there with wrong expectations.
Jan Lim there are sooo many! When Ryan swore in the temple grounds i thought we were going to immediately be struck by lightning 😂🙈 These are the three most popular but there are dozens more scattered around the entire city of Bangkok and thousands across Thailand.
Landmantx haha yeah some of the statues are menacing looking! It’s very neat to be there... everything is in such good condition you have to remind yourself how old it all really is!
Hi Greg! Thanks man. In my opinion music is the one of the most important aspects of a video. It can either make or break it. That’s why I sometimes take hours just selecting a track for a video to be sure it fits the footage perfectly 👌🏻 And yes, we are definitely enjoying the trip so far 😊❤️
Thank you so much!! We’ve spent 4 months in Thailand this year and absolutely love it 😊 ❤️ Thank you for your warm welcome and make sure to watch our other Thailand videos if you are interested! Welcome to the DBV Fam 🙏
Cool beans... didn't get to see the Grand Palace because of the dress code. Thanks for the great video! I should do something with my footage from August
Looking for some references for our trip to Bangkok later in June, and came across this video. Great vlog, and helpful indeed, thank you guys! Btw Ryan looks like a younger version of Craig Ferguson and Stacia you look somehow familiar too. 😄👍🏻 Love from Indonesia!
Burger r thank you! 🙏🙏 You have a lot to be proud of... what amazing places with incredible history. I’m thankful we are able to witness some of Thailand’s History ❤️ What part of Thailand do you live in?
Jorge Valenzuela yeah there are so many things to see! It’s crazy to me that these temples are just sitting in the middle of a huge modern city. Very cool
You absolutely should! Honestly, flights are becoming so much for affordable lately making it possible for everyone to see the world. Enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any questions! ❤️🙏
You, guys, deserve so much more views and subscribers. And you`ll have them, I`m sure. Very informative and interesting videos. Stay awesome, as you already are :) Have safe travels!
DeathByVlog Have fun in Thailand! 😁 Don't forget to try Khao Soy in Chiang Mai too, there are several shops that sell amazing Khao soy. My friend came to visit me in Chiang Mai for a week and had it almost everyday 😂 (Khao soy Nimman and Khao Soy Khun Yai are our favs 😉)
We're excited for you!! These temples are a once in a lifetime experience. They are so beautiful and grand. Let us know how you enjoy your trip to Thailand ❤️❤️☺️

Love the way you editing the video, it make the vid is interested to see and I like it. Hope you come back and enjoy your trips in Thailand again. Greetings from Thai people. 😊👍
Thanks for the tips! very helpful especially with what to wear and what you can, can't do. I'm all about immersing myself in other peoples culture but at the same time respecting it. Can't wait to visit the temples!
Wow!!! by watching this vlog can gain me some knowledge about the history of the places that you guys visit, even though I am living in Thailand LOL!!! Most of the place I have visited but doesn't know much about the history itself. Two thumbs up!!! Great work you guys... I really enjoy it.
Hi Pitasaha! Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻 So glad you found this informative. Stacia loves doing research on the places we visit so we can share that with you guys here. Welcome to the channel ❤️❤️❤️
Woww.. we need more tourist like you. It's too much noisy from chineses tourists in Grand palace. I hope one day Thailand set the rules that tourists can not shout or yell in that area. Enjoy Thailand and see you next time.
It was crazy there. Everyone was very pushy and inconsiderate. It really took away from really experiencing the place and taking it all in. Luckily we got to enjoy the first two temples without many people around 👍🏻
For Thai, yes it crazy thing that we got noisy in temple. Because temple is peaceful area. We need silence to be peace in mind in Buddhist way. But Grand palace officer try to acknowledge to Guide's tourist on this issue as well. but seem cannot help. And I think we are know about Chinese accent , the language need to "loud voice" to correct the meaning. So large group , guide's tourist need to talk loud.
Thank you for the video! I’m heading to Bangkok tomorrow from where I live in Tokyo and this helped heaps! I found you both from your “almost” scam story (nice suit btw) and your videos and content and tidbits really help me prepare.
No worries. You pronounced it just the way it's spelled. Unless you're a native speaker, you wouldn't know the H was silent. Thai is my second language. Just in case, if you go to an island in Thailand, you pronounce KOH (island) with a soft "o". It's pronounced GAWH. PHO & KOH are commonly mispronounced by tourist but local Thais won't correct you because they don't want you to lose face.
Damm, this looks absolutely sick. And I haven't even seen more than the first 30 seconds!
Haha Thanks 🙏🏻 now that’s what I like to hear! There are three sets of b-roll in this one too 👍🏻
FlngLnhrt the temples were 😍😍😍
Stacia Sleight Absolutely! It's kinda sad that you couldn't film inside that much, but anyways it was beautiful.
Was about to comment the same thing!! Very skilled editing and videography
This is one of the best Vlog ever I’ve ever seen. Thailand is such an amazing country. One of my favorite country that I have to visit to Thailand.
Thank you! We love Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤️
I love the fact that Stacia educated herself about the history of every place she goes. Well done!
Thank you!! I love learning about these places and being able to experience them first hand is so incredibly special. I try my best to pass along the facts that I learn so hopefully others will be intrigued to visit as well. Thank you for commenting, we appreciate it ❤️🙏
That's what I'm trying to do. Just educate myself before going

wow, they must be so religious, they have a lot of temples. and their temples are so detailed.
Jan Lim there are sooo many! When Ryan swore in the temple grounds i thought we were going to immediately be struck by lightning 😂🙈 These are the three most popular but there are dozens more scattered around the entire city of Bangkok and thousands across Thailand.
There are so many of them. I can’t get over the details. All done by hand too. Crazy 😮❤️

Wow!!! by watching this vlog can gain me some knowledge about the history of the places that you guys visit, even though I am living in Thailand LOL!!!
WAT PHO is pronounced with a silent "H" Sounds like WAT POE
Hi Kevin! Thanks for that tip. Stacia will be mad at herself now for mispronouncing it 😂
Kevin P ahhh thank you!!! I’m surprised I didn’t know or catch this! I appreciate the comment ☺️
Kevin P thanks Kevin 🙏🙏 So, gawh kind of like cow? Or did I get it wrong again 😂😂
Island is pronounced as " GOR " but very short sounding.
