    Talk is cheap but in Conors case it is the truth, he goes out and backs up what he says, intelligent, strong , fast , mental strength, Makes him a complete package unlike any other fighter which makes him unique and in my opinion one he'll of a fighter, can he be beaten " well yes but not for the foreseeable future" this man is light years ahead of any of his opponent's.

    • @shimoda3339
      @shimoda3339 8 років тому +2

      McGregor better work on his ground game/submissions/submission defense, before being called considered "light years ahead of any of his opponent's"
      There is already going to be a Diaz vs. McGregor 3. I know everybody (at least his bandwagon of fans) believes that he actually won the rematch that went to decision, instead of the K.O. that he was promising in the first round (proving yet again, that he DOESN'T back up his big talk), but Diaz isn't as stupid as everybody thinks he is. He knew that he would get paid millions in the rematch, and even more in the 3rd fight. Ending the back and forth between the two would put an end to that cash cow for Diaz.
      Ah yes, enter Alvarez. Alvarez is a different animal, that would pick apart and destroy McGregor, as his ground game/grappling/submission/submission defense sucks. Also a lot of people say that Diaz got lucky in their first fight, but the same could be said about McGregor getting lucky against Jose Aldo.
      Needles to say, there are many people left for McGregor to fight, who could very well beat him. There's Diaz (as it's 1-1), Jose Aldo, Dos Anjos, Cowboy Cerrone (if McGregor wants to stop cutting weight and fight people his own size), Stephan Thompson (170 lbs.).
      Many people thought the same thing about Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and Royce Gracie... but look what happened. All you and everyone is doing, is feeding into the hype' but that's all it is. Give Alvarez a shot and see what happens then, or let's see what happens in Diaz/McGregor 3.

    • @mickeyh1961
      @mickeyh1961 8 років тому

      +Chris Price Yes there is a lot of truth in what you say, Conor has a weak ground game as demonstrated in his first fight with Nate, but Conor is an intelligent fighter and shrude business man, he saw his mistakes with Nate he knows he underestimate him he has said that but he also saw his weakness and worked on that.
      There was no doubts as to who won against Nate Conor was the clear winner, he clearly won three of the five rounds. He also trained for five rounds as he had cardio issues. I know Nate is a good fighter and has earned a lot of money by fighting Conor, fair play to him for that. But I do not for one minute think he deliberately lost to Conor.
      Conor conclusively destroyed Aldo, it was embarrassing for him and if they ever meet again Aldo will at most last 2 rounds, he just cannot cope with Conors speed and power. Conor is like no other fighter surely you can see that ? he is only going to get stronger. Finally He is a great business man and has serious designs on management and part ownership in UFC.

    • @shimoda3339
      @shimoda3339 8 років тому +1

      Diaz already has losses on his fighting record, so losing isn't big of a deal, as he doesn't have an undefeated record to try to maintain. Throwing the rematch to set up a third, more lucrative fight wouldn't be that bad of a business decision for Diaz. He has made more in the second fight than he has in all of his previous fights combined. He would be stupid to not throw the fight, if it could make him millions of more than winning the rematch and ending the feud. I'm not saying that he did throw it. But I wouldn't rule it out, as there wouldn't be a third fight between the two if Diaz won the second fight, as it would clearly show that he is the better fighter, ending his big payout in a third fight. Sports players have been known to throw games/matches if it was lucrative enough. Isn't that really what it's all about in the end anyway; how much money you make?
      Besides, Diaz had injuries going into the fight that were documented and have been confirmed before he fought McGregor in the rematch. He just didn't want to drop out of the fight like other fighters do when they get injured. Either way, Diaz is clearly the better fighter. Diaz had to keep chasing McGregor and keep pointing out to the big John McCarthy, that McGregor was running away form him, refusing to engage in the fight. At the very least McGregor should have been docked a point or two, from all the stalling/running away from the fight that he did. He did that because his cardio was still not enough to hurt Diaz. From the ref to the judges, they were all biased in McGregor's favor.

    • @mickeyh1961
      @mickeyh1961 8 років тому

      +Chris Price once more I agree with some of what you say, put forward a suitation based on money whereby Diaz ( possibly ) threw the fight in order to make more cash, and how he was carrying injuries coming into this fight, both valed points but still not in my opinion reason enough to change whatever I saw as a genuine fight whereby Diaz was clearly outclassed but a faster more accomplished Mcgregor,
      Just look at all the damage inflicted on Diaz by Conor, Conor is a fast learner and yes he has cardio issues , so avoiding getting hit is as important as striking so it made perfect tactical sense for Conor to avoid damage and move around the ring away from such. The onus was on Nate to be able to catch him something which he was not capable of.
      There is no law against this tactic so don't see why Conor should be docked points you could just as easy dock Nate for not been able to catch him. The vast Majority of those who saw this fight go with the decision, I watched it many times and I am certain Conor was the clear winner. I don't subscribe to your theory that Nate threw the fight as there is a possibility that there might not be a third , Conor has many many options open to him.
      Finally Conor sustained serious injury from Repetitive kicking Nate which Nate was incapable of preventing and yet Conor battled on throughout. If there is a third match up I have no doubts Conor will prevail and prove he is the best fighter pound for pound in UFC.

    • @shimoda3339
      @shimoda3339 8 років тому +1

      mickeyh1961 First off getting injured during the fight is totally different from going into a fight already injured. Being injured before the fight even begins, puts you at a disadvantage from the start. This was Diaz's case. He couldn't move around as freely or take shots to those areas and keep going as easily as he would have if he wasn't already injured. This gave McGregor an indefinite advantage. When you are injured, your body is tighter, more soar, and you aren't as willing to do the things/make certain movements that you would normally do, because it causes you pain, discomfort, and is literally harder to move, because your body isn't as loose/flexible as it normally is.
      Second, the only reason why you and many other fans who don't know what REALLY matters in a fight are siding with McGregor is because you 1) think a "knock down" (which looked more like a slip) is a big deal, but it's NOT. Fighters slip all the time. In boxing they understand this, and even point it out, that the fighter actually slipped while being hit, and that it WASN'T really a "knock down". I even heard Joe Rogan say that it looked more like Diaz slipped, or intentionally wanted to take it to the ground, since he knows that McGregor absolutely couldn't win if it went to the ground, because Diaz's BJJ is on a whole other level, that McGregor could never compete with. That's why McGregor was afraid to jump on top of him and attempt to finish the fight. McGregor KNEW that he didn't really hurt or knock Diaz down; if he thought that, he would have jumped on him and finished the fight right there and then. Even the best BJJ guy in the world can't defend himself and use his BJJ, when he is seriously injured and disoriented from a serious strike. But he wasn't, he was trying to make McGregor play into his hand, like many other BJJ fighters do in MMA matches. It happens all the time. Anderson Silva is a great example of this, and Diaz does the same thing.
      You and many other fans who don't know what really matters in a fight, also think that just because somebody bleeds, that they are getting their asses kicked, when they are NOT. Sometimes people are just simply "bleeders" and they get cuts and bleed easier than others. This is the case with Diaz. It is a widely known fact, that Nate Diaz cuts easily over his eyes, as his are made up of scar tissue, which isn't as soft as regular body tissue, and it cuts easier because of it.
      Third, it is indeed a rule, that you are supposed to show control during the fight and stay engaged in the fight. You are not supposed to run away from the fight, as you can still stay engaged in the fight by defending and blocking your opponent's attack. Look at boxing, they don't run away, they stand there and cover up and defend/block their opponent's attacks... their opponent then gets tired and they are now both tired and are back on the same level playing field, or they can attack again, once their opponent gets tired. But you don't get to attack your opponent to the point of exhaustion and then literally run away, with your back facing your opponent just because you tired yourself out. People fight with different tactics. McGregor is one who prefers to use up all of his energy to try to overwhelm and take out his opponents in a flurry of strikes. Diaz is more of a counter attack guy; he waits for you to strike first or he waits for you to tire yourself out attacking him, then he attacks you (if he can't hurt him enough to end the fight with your attacks). But if you use up all of your energy attacking your opponent, you don't get to run away for the rest of the time you are tired, so they can't do the same to you.
      Every sport has rules against stalling, and the UFC does as well. They simply chose not to enforce them. Running away is a stalling tactic, and fighters get docked points all the time for running away from/stalling the fight. It pisses off the fans who paid a lot of money to see an entertaining fight (which the UFC doesn't want to do), and cheats them and the other fighter.
      "How is it cheating them?" you might ask. It cheats the fans and the other fighter, because it allows the person who is stalling, to be able to rest at a time they are not supposed to be. That's why there are intermissions between each round; that's what they are there for, for the fighters to rest in between the rounds. But you are supposed to be constantly engaged in the fight, and "show that you want to fight." I watched big John McCarthy (Irish like McGregor) explain to him that exact thing about stalling, and being docked points, if he doesn't show that he wants to fight... but then he doesn't enforce the rule.
      So YES, there is a rule against stalling/running away from the fight, and McGregor absolutely should have been docked points for it. Why else would Diaz have clearly pointed that out every time McGregor ran away from him? If there was no rule against it, Diaz wouldn't have pointed it out so many times to the ref, because he would understand that it is allowed... but it is NOT allowed.
