It just warms my heart the way John talks about these bears, especially when he's talking about when people ask whether they should repair them and he says he asks them "How do you feel about it?" which is just so wonderful because there's no judgement there either way about whether the person may go with or without the repair because it's all about the bears and the happiness they can bring. This is such a lovely video, and such gorgeous bears.
I really enjoyed John's presentation. Bears are so comforting and such fun. I hope they all had a safe trip to their new home with John. [wink] [wink] and [double wink] Love you both!
Thank you so very much for this beautiful video. Not only is it honoring your mother and her legacy, it's an amazing gift to share and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I have always looked at the face of a bear to see it’s personality… The same pattern can be used to make 100 bears and each one will have its own little personality!
How amazing I'm a bear collector even bought a bear. from john.Rachel thank you so much this was incredible to put together and see your mothers bears .😀
Oh my goodness what amazing, incredible bears and fun to learn their ages and more about them! I love the bears eyes and expressions too so much! John did a wonderful job! I so love the bears and video! Thanks! ❤
Rachel, I LOVE Teddy Bears and I collect them and I LOVE Teddy Bears as much as Dolls , but I can not afford a Steiff at this time. However, what an awesomely cool surprise to see your Late Mom's Steiff Teddy Bears and have John Paul Port give us a lesson on the details of the bears as well as when they were made:)!! And if John Paul Port is inheriting these Bears, they could not have a more kind hearted person to treasure them all:)!! Of your Late Mom's collection of Teddy Bears my favorites are: Joseph Peterman's Bear from 1910 to 1920 because of the beautiful face with those soulful eyes, , Little White Steiff Bear from 1907 in the adorable brown wooden cradle, Steiff Teddy Baby reproduction of the 1949 bear, and the Knickerbocker 1930's Bear:)!! In fact, I was delighted to hear that Knickerbocker actually made Teddy Bears:)!! I have an old Raggedy Andy Doll that is in bad need of repair, but I do want to throw him out because my Late Dad gave him to me when I was 6 years old:)!! Thank you Rachel and Thank you John Paul Port for explaining the details of the bears and sharing Diane Hoffman's sweet adorable Teddy Bears with us all:)!!!
today October 19 2022, I am watching ...again, this beautiful video. This bear den is definitely my favorite place, and John Paul Port is like a favorite book of mine, I can come back listening his so gentle voice and learning from him again and again. Thank you Rachel for giving me this lovely opportunity to know this so gentle man and learn so much about bears.
Oh, Rachel. Thank you so much for this wonderful look into your Mums bear collection. I only own one modern Steiff bear, and would dearly love to own an antique one, unfortunately in Australia, I have not been fortunate to come across one. Your videos have been an amazing journey into the doll and bear world. All your hard work in bringing them to all of us is greatly appreciated. Many grateful bear hugs to you xx
Thank you so much for this video. Because of others yours videos about teddy bears, I started collecting old teddy bears (I love bears since I was a child, even though I'm 41). ❤️
Hi! I don’t have auctions, this is a personal collection. You can catch John Port on Ruby Lane and at several doll/bear shows this year. Thank you for watching!
@@RachelHoffmanDolls I remember now, it was a teddy bear sales and John Port had teddy bears for sale. Thank you for your response and have a good day.
Just discovered your vlog. Sr. Citizen from Maryland made and collected bears in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Did your mom ever go to the Timonium, Maryland bear shows.? Bear artists came from all over the world.💕🙂

It is a joke. She left it to me. ❤️🐻❤️🐻
That bear in the basket has seen things.
WoW 😳
Thank you!
Why did most teddy bear manufacturers including Steiff stop making open-mouth teddy bears? There are a lot fewer models of open-mouth bears.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
so funy, he lost this leges, but still have the botton in the hear!!
I know, he is such a sweet bear!
