OMG thank you for this video. I received the same stand mixer as a present to myself for Christmas. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to align the mixer bowl. I had no idea you had to snap it to make it fit. I assumed the nobs were disfigured as a defect. I was ready to send it back until I saw your video. I’m so happy now with my new stand mixer.😊
I’m so glad or was helpful! I also had a hard time with the bowl at first and was very confused about how it worked, which is why I made a point to include it in my video when I figured it out! Happy baking and mixing!
Thank you so much for figuring how to fit the bowl. I recently purchased stand mixer myself and was really struggling with that ( I forgot to read till the end of manual 😅) .
I just ordered this mixer and it's scheduled for delivery on Thursday. Am excited as I've always wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer (have had the hand-held KitchenAid mixer for years and have been happy with it). I got into bread making back in the summer and decided it was time for the splurge. I decided to try out their certified refurbished model to start out as the program sounds good and if it works well, it saves a good chunk of change. I ordered the Contour Silver model.
I love neutral colors in my kitchen as well, I just ordered the same one because of a sale they have going on! I also have the red wireless kitchenaid handheld .. I love red and greys in the kitchen 💗🤝
Thanks for doing this video! So I just bought this from Costco as a surprise for my wife :-) She's excited. But before she opens the box, she wants to know if there's a minimum amount of dough it needs for it to be effective. Any guesses on how many cups/grams of, say, all-purpose or wheat flour it needs? There are just the two of us at home. Thx.
Great question! Even though it’s a big mixer, I think it would work fine with small amounts of dough. I bake with just one box of cake mix, which isn’t a ton, and it does great. Even with half the amount of mix/dough I feel like it would do okay
@@SaratheMomNextDoor Thanks a lot, Sara. That's very helpful. I think we will open the box then ... my wife says "Yay!!!" :-) Yeah, A box of cake mix isn't much at all so that makes me feel comfortable going with this. We could have gotten a smaller model but the Costco pricing is a great deal despite the 6 qt size. Thanks again.
I had this model and watts are an inaccurate way of judging a machines power! I personally found this machine under powered and the clips that hold the bowl on for pasta dough came flying off across the room! I somehow found a factory refurbished K5A non solid state after I returned the 6 quart and I sware it has more horse power and alot less noise! It could also just be the shape of the bowl being taller and not as wide that is giving the K5A that power.
I’m not sure! I tried to do some research and other than one being called “pro 600” I can’t tell if they are different. Hopefully someone else in this community knows and can clarify? Thanks for the question!
The motor is weak. My ''professional'' 6 Qt does the same thing when it gets hot, and it doesn't take much. I hope Sara's is built better, but I doubt it. So my wife uses the Kitchen Aid for the heavy work like whipped cream and frostings, I use the Ankarsrum when a dependable strong machine is needed.
I just bought the 5.5 lift bowl mixer and it has a 500 watt motor so I'm sure its that or more. My gf has the previous model pro 5 plus and hers is 525 watts. If not near there its probably somewhere near 600. So plenty powerful. Hope this helps

The snap sound is quite loud! Not a very good orbpleasant design IMHO.😮
@@olgaestrada4071 I agree, it's loud and startling!

Awesome!! I bet you’re excited for Thursday!! And I hope you enjoy lots of bread making with your KitchenAid 🤩
Flatbeater will be your most used one
@kellysardella928 so far you're absolutely right!
Appliance instructions in a ziploc bag is freakin genius

Yay! We are twinsies! I hope you LOVE your new one @helenlopez
I just received this exact mixer (color and all) as a gift. Watching you struggle with that bowl is like my being a fly on the wall watching myself. 😂
I’m glad I’m not alone! I had to stop and google how the bowl worked because I was afraid of breaking something 🤣 I hope you LOVE your mixer!
@@SaratheMomNextDoor 😂 Thank you! I’ve been watching videos about all the ways you can use it.
Aweee you have a good husband. That’s such a nice surprise. I’m so excited for mine to arrive Friday. I’m gonna make so much bread and macarons.
Yep he’s the best!! So excited you’re getting one Friday, I hope you LOVE it!
So exciting! I love the color. What is the first thing you are going to make?
Still trying to decide! Maybe pumpkin bread, maybe cake…suggestions are welcome!

Love that your husband sponsored you!!
Me too! It was so sweet of him and such a fun surprise for me!
I get this exact one from Costco in about five days.

Is this the same as the QVC Pro 600 ?

@@SaratheMomNextDoor thk you. Something tells me the same power etc just different colors and name differences for different vendors.
My mixer is coming on very fast on 1/2 speed then stop. Can someone explain why?
Good question! Mine doesn’t do that, 1/2 speed is very slow and steady. Maybe someone else on here will have an answer for you…good luck!

Hi, could me please share the watts of this kitchen aid?
