- This is my 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500. I have put a Top Gun Customz 1.5 inch lift and the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks. Tires are 285/65/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on stock rims. Volant Cold Air Intake and Spintech Pro Street 6000 single in dual out muffler coming out the back with 3.5 inch magnaflow tips
Just got this exhaust installed on my 2012 Silverado and got the exact same sound! I love it. I've had the Flowmaster 40 series on a 2010 Silverado that I've owned with the same 5.3l engine but it doesn't compare. The Spintech is definitely a throatier more aggressive sound, but, it is louder than the Flowmaster and that's what I wanted. Interior drone is fairly loud but if you're like me and wanna hear your own exhaust then go for it!
I am considering the spintech 6000 si/so, is the drone really that bad? I don't want any drone.
exactly, drone does not bother me. I want to hear the motor. just put super 10 on my silverado. that's aggressive enough for me.
thank you for the slow rev up! sounds decent.
Spintech's sound awesome man. I have them on my truck and told my bro to put them on his Mustang, sounds great. I'm not a big Chevy fan but I love the stance and tires on yours, looks good.
thanks man. i've about got it where i want it, but i still have to get rims, tint and a tune lol. thanks for watching
Sounds good man !! I have true dual flowmaster on mine and I just ordered two spintech mufflers after hearing yours
@ mike gag - what I did to level it was put the top spacer of the leveling kit on and put the bilsteins at the second highest setting in the front. Since I did the level myself I didn't have a press for the front shocks so I had to leave the bottom spacers of the leveling kit out. I left the back end stock besides the new shocks.
Sounds like a boss
@ mike gag- It would have helped if we had a spring compressor for the front shocks, but we used a big press that my company uses to test welds instead. Honestly it would have been a lot easier just to have a shop do it lol
Installed Spintech Super Pro 9000 great sound had a bit of drone but disabled MDS with tuner
Nice truck.
Thanks. but no, after the spintech i put a y-pipe and dual 2'' stainless all the way out.
That sounds nice. I have the 9000's so I'm guessing they'll be a little bit louder. Can't wait to get them on.
question bout your lift, did you just put a 1.5" level kit on front? and leave rear same or block back also? and what setting you got bilsteins at the highest 1.75"?
well I ordered Bilsteins all the way around, they should be here anyday. I was thinking bout adding like a 3/8 spacer up front also to get another 1". Are you saying that you didn't need a spring compressor to put in the front shocks?
Could you tell me if it's a 3" in dual 2.5" out ? I just ordered the same exhaust for my 2014 silverado 5.3 and yours sounds great !
+Thaddeus Kur yep this is a 3 inch in to a 2.5 inch dual out muffler
How is the drone with this muffler? Also, is it too loud, as in will it annoy neighbors if I start my truck at 5 to 6am in the morning?
I know that the 5.7L Hemi in my truck will make it sound different, but I'm having second thoughts ordering the 3000 series
The Great Empire!! It has a little drone in the cab but it's not unbearable. I don't think it'll wake your neighbor's up, but you can definitely tell when it starts up in the morning. At idle it's very mellow tho.
2greenhead
Loud, like it may wake people up loud, or a pleasant type of loud when the sound will not pen through housing very well?
The Great Empire!! If you don't drive like a 17 year old high schooler , I wouldn't worry about waking anybody up with this muffler. It's a little noisy at startup, but it mellows out after a minute. I've never had any complaints from neighbors in town, but my neighbors may sleep harder than yours lol...its not like its a straightpiped diesel pickup idling out front, but there's enough rumble that you know its been started. It's louder than stock, but nothing close to that annoying cackling of straight pipes loud if you get into the throttle. It's just a nice smooth tone the whole way through the RPM's...comparable to flowmasters would be my best comparison. That's about the best way i can describe it.
Fellas, with any aftermarket exhaust you will have some drone. This particular muffler does have a little bit of drone to it, but it IS bearable. Basically it makes your Chevy sound like it has some balls lol
Is the drone really bad or is it bearable?
Beautiful truck man about to do something similar to mine but I was what size tires are those and what company did you purchase your level from? Thanks man
Do you think the 6000 si/so would drone too?
I do like how it sounds. Close to "chambered muffler" sound, but with none of high-frequency buzz of Flowmaster mufflers.
The 2000 RPM drone mentioned in the video can be easily addressed with Helmoltz resonators (nothing more than a couple of stubbed pipes each about 0.7 meters in length). Google it, you will find plenty of real world results
I just bought and installed the spintech 6k part number 6442 and i love it. I am soo glad I bought it.
But I think I am going to add one 6k muffler
Did you remove the resonator?
Are these louder than the black widow neighbor haters?
whats your tire size and brand? also size of rims?
i don't know the parts number for it off the top of my head, but its the single in/dual out ProStreet 6000
Do you think the 6000 si/so would drone too?
