      @@BeatTheBush Perhaps you can co-write/write yourself/ghost write it over a longer period of time. This would give you more time to flesh it out and it takes the pressure off yourself.
      With over 900 videos, I'm wondering if they can be organised in some kind of list structure - do you not have a website yet - or do you only use playlists (which are fantastic by the way)? I feel like that blanket of 900 videos, if folded correctly, could align to make a comforting package of value of the pre-existing videos, each with their own value.
      💡
      In fact, organising those 900 videos could help you organise the structure of your potential book. I'd personally pay to buy a book if the value of its coherency, ideas, and collection of methods that aim to reduce costs, save money, and make revenue, had more value than the unorganised dispersal of 900-odd videos. By the same token, I can appreciate you already having given a lot of meaningful videos out; in that case, might it be time to produce a masterpiece with even more meaning?
      (I'd be very interested to see if you go down a niche path or a more general path with methods and ideas relevant to the general populace.)

    To people who oppose you selling the honey badger shirt: You can still be frugal and support things with your money. Frugal doesn't mean don't spend, it just means be conscious of your spending and to not buy useless things; spend less. You're still going to buy clothes at some point in your life, so you might as well know where the proceeds are going and support someone/something that you like. Beat the Bush, you are so funny but I love your channel because you are transparent. You are right! I started my channel to share with Spanish-speaking people what I was learning about fluid art because a lot of them wanted to learn but the FB groups were in English. Almost 2 1/2 years ago I started my channel without knowing even where the camera pinhole was! I had to learn everything about how to make a video at the same time I was learning fluid art. It took me two years to find a formula that worked for me but now I have it. Some of my videos have gone viral and in the last month I have had 1200+ new subscribers. I am a Gen X'er and still work by choice (self employed now) because I enjoy working so retirement will most likely be pushed back to 70. I do get plenty of time for hobbies and traveling with hubby who also works and doesn't want to retire until late 60's. We r both healthy because we eat healthy, take vit /mineral/ supplements and work out.
    Most of people I knew that wanted to retire early (in their 30's-50s) we're those that couldn't stand their jobs, had excessive work hours or had a chronic illness. Most 20's and 30's who insist on retiring now will end up working again a few years down the road. I say that because seen it too many times. Not to mention if you still have a mortgage to pay, or kids to raise you're asking for trouble if u fully retire (unless u have at least a million or more $$$ to your name and work enough part-time hours to pay the mortgage). People are living much longer, for a millennial, most likely well into their 90's and the cost of living is increasing every year. Also full retirement is fun at first then it can get boring, I recommend working part-time (or semi retired as some people like to call it). If you can own your own biz or become self employed even better, as long as you can afford health insurance, go for it!

Sometimes I'm too lazy to go back through video archives to figure out which video you talked about this specific thing, so having a book where I can fold a page would be helpful! I think it'd be neat if you referenced the video links in the book too!

With about 10 rentals I can easily be retired from passive income. I encourage you to look in to it. If you fix everything up front, you should not have to deal with tenants, toilets, and taxes. Yes you should write a book. Ultimately, it means placing your brand and getting your name out there to reach a broader market like bookstores, Amazon users, and even broadcasting networks. Similar to your video license, you get royalties on your book. And maybe it’s hard to believe but people still read books and prefer a well-organized and thought-out book on-hand to refer back to :)

    A few toughts for BTB:
    - thank you for this video, I asked for it a long time ago and you finally decided you should do it
    - I though repairing stuff would also be on this list. Do you only do those repairs as favors for friends?
    - I think the t-shirt is a good thing, everybody needs t-shirts because they don't last forever. I would buy yours and some other channels' t-shirts except I think it's kinda ridiculous to buy them from another continent. Plus $20 is a lot more than I usually pay for a t-shirt.
    - finally I think the book is also a good idea, youtube videos are all over the place, a well organized book is much better. But if you decide to write that book, please make it an ebook, paper books are only good to collect dust and kill trees. And also if you want to sell it internationally, try not to make it too US specific. I'm mentioning it because some of your videos are very US specific.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  5 років тому

      I would repair things but it is not a scaleable source and hence very limiting. I sell things as a personal need to reduce the things i have. That is also not scaleable. Someone needs to go organize all these videos. I think it'll take me months to get it all down on paper, lol.

    • @sogerc1
      @sogerc1 5 років тому

      @@BeatTheBush Of course it would take months but AFAIK it easily takes that long to write a book (not that I ever wrote one), so if you don't have a passion for it then it's understandable if you don't want to write yours. Just like I don't have a passion for editing videos. I could create my own youtube airsoft channel, I have so many ideas what to share with people, I could film all the interesting games I go to, I could borrow friends' guns to review, it's just all that editing. Or I could release one-take videos but those look so amateurish, I don't want to do that either.

    2:03 is the most honest and realistic comment anyone can say. If someone wins a lot of money, it's hard to predict how they would react. I've witness many different outcomes when there had been a large influx of money, from a high paying job or someone winning some money at the casino. Some people go crazy and spend it all, some turn into Hermits and start picking up pennies off the ground, some start playing the stock market, and surprising some people have no effect on them. Me personally I wouldn't work , but would diverify my investments into Commercial and Residential properties, Bonds, 401k , invest into Google and Amazon and leave some in the bank with interest, and i wouldn't forget about the new Ferrari.

    Problem with not having a full time engineering job is it makes you kind of like a child and a bit lonely. Thi was my experience having done it for 4 years and then going back. I went back as program manager for engineering company in Sydney, Australia and day to day is energy buzz of dealing with people and meetings, keeping up to date with technology and then weekends are full on. The social network is full on - weddings, sports events - golf, tennis etc, travel and social gatherings. I missed all that when not working. So for me I will work (do not need to but just top up investments) and then retire in 50's as love social aspect.
