Bruges is a fairytale medieval town of Belgium that lives and breathes history. It was a time travel for us into the middle ages. It is a hotspot of culture, heritage and nature. Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage City. We stayed in Amsterdam and took a day trip (3 hours drive) to Bruges. Either one can stay in Bruges for a night to get an experience of it's night life or a daytrip. There are many guided walking tours conducted by the locals and its also recommended to take a walking tour as all the spots in this medieval town can be covered with a guide. They will take you through narrow alleys and tell stories and history of the place. Each corner of this town has something o offer to all.
Recommended places to see are Lake of love, Beguinage, Canals and boat rides, Burg square, Markt, Gruuthusemuseum, Minnewater, Museum of the Church of Our Lady, tour inside the famous brewery, buying chocolates ONLY from famous chocolate shops which has the mark of the Guild in front of their shops (e.g Chocolalino,Pralinique, Sukerbuyc, Verheecke,, The Chocolate Line)
