      I consider you to be a good person.
      You are thankful to God. I hope you will understand.
      Your God is one and when time comes to Him you will return.
      He has beautified this earth to test us which of us is best in deeds. Soon the earth will be a barren land.
      Jesus (peace be upon him) is His slave and messenger. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Him) is God's slave and seal of the messengers.
      Submit to God and believe what He has sent. He will increase you in guidance.

    It's interesting how you mentioned your journey through trade school. Initially, I pursued graphic design but eventually dropped out of college. However, four years later, i decided to return to school to study engineering technology. This led me to a job working on drawbridges, where I gained experience in electrical work and learned how to program PLCs. Now, you're back in college pursuing a degree in computer science, but I’m considering switching to computer engineering due to my extensive experience with Arduino over the years. Additionally, in my previous job, i acquired programming skills in Python.

    I start Coding when i was 16, just with java and python basics (variables, arrays, functions) and some html and css until i reach 18 i join CS degree, the program was old but it help me in the first year ( i learn C, VB, SQL and some PHP) and in the same time i start learning by myself i master python and i dive deeper into C (data structures, memory management and problem solving), electronics basics and some backend development with django.
    But in the second year (i was 19) i have some issues and i lost my passion for everything i fail in school and i waste a lot of time (probably 10months).
    Now i’m close to 20 and just i’m starting recovery and i’m on my way to rebuild my self like my old one

    Nice life journey! My embedded journey began in 2007, where the first thing teacher taught me is intel 8051 and Z80 😅. Then continue to ATMega family (no Arduino that time). Actually I enjoyed experience as embedded eng, but unfortunately there's no job as embedded eng at that time. So i join with one of oilfield service company as field Specialist but Embedded still on my brain. Until in 2016 I met ESP8266, that's IC make me more interested due to it's wifi+microcontroller. In 2018 that's my first time met with STM32F1

    Hello, this Dhanush.
    I have done my bachelor's in electronic and communication in 2019. After that I have done internship for two months using Arduino and LPC2148. Due to COVID, I have not done anything after internship. Now in spring 2022, I started doing my masters in electrical engineering (specialization control systems) at Cleveland state university (USA).
    I'm passionate of becoming a embedded systems engineer. I just started doing an online course(5 months) in summer 2022 ( June 1st).
    It includes following modules:
    1. Linux systems
    2. Advanced C
    3. Data structures and logic analysis
    4. Linux internels and networking
    5. Microcontroller (using PIC microcontroller )
    6. Embedded Linux on ARM (using beaglebone black)
    7. C++ programming
    This course finishes by November 2022. I'm planning to do internship/co-op in summer 2023 and get full-time job by Dec 2023.
    I wanted to know whether, this skills are enough or what all the others skills required for embedded software engineer. Also, can you tell me interview preparation for companies in USA ( because, it is different from India)
    Thank you,
    Regards
    Dhanush

    Have you looked at Rust? It should be a great language for embedded development as a replacement for C++. The device support is not where they want it to be yet, but it will definitely become more and more relevant to the industry in the next few years.

      I've heard of Rust and seen it being picked up in some places where I worked. As long as it will make people's lives easier, I'm sure it will become more popular.

    I studied CS at undergraduate level and I've enrolled for ms embedded software. I am good at coding and logics, very good with arduino and did a project with consist of realtime data sharing between the arduino and mobile app I also developed. Is there any advice or roadmap you can give me?. Thank you so much

    this video remind me of my journey too. I too worked on Application development(python and C++) and currently working on Software development in embedded application(mostly requirements and testing software design). I want to merge my skill of python + C programming with embedded application development. I just read about python which is used for embedded testing but I am not getting the clear picture of how does it and also what are it's different use case of working python with C programming in the embedded application. Can you make a video explianing the use of python in hand with C?

      They do make some nice trains... I think the best opportunity to do some cool and modern stuff with Alstom is in Europe... the public transportation industry in the USA is pretty outdated and behind compared to the rest of the world.

    I like the idea of being an embedded software engineer, however, my school doesn't have an engineering department. Is it difficult to get a job in your field with a computer science degree? My cs degree has classes on embedded systems, computer architecture, a/c circuts, and digital electronics on top of the normal software developer oriented classes if that helps and I intend on taking all of these.

    How important would you say is an understanding of "circuits boards" or "electronics" for embedded engineering? I have a good understanding of software development, writing code, designing systems but no experience with embedded systems. I guess you have APIs to the sensors or motors you need to control to get data but is that really all you need in the end?

    • @GreidiAjalik
      @GreidiAjalik  2 роки тому +1

      Depends on how "high level" you work in the code. If you're writing drivers as an embedded software engineer, you'll need to understand how to read schematics, understand some about circuit boards (if you need to probe signals real time on the board), and maybe a little bit about electronics. I can tell you, that you can get away without really not needing any of that - I worked at Alstom and all I did was high level programming... never even touched or saw the real circuit boards I was writing code for. Here's a quick video of pretty much of all low level protocols you should be familiar with for embedded software engineering: ua-cam.com/video/HFmGk4oufj8/v-deo.html
