In our dnd session early today we joked about going to Scornubel, because of this video we are now going all the way from Daggerford to Scornubel. This campaign just got a lot more crazy, but fun as well.
What kind of adventuring party do you think would thrive in Scornubel? Don't forget to watch Part 2 which is a Q&A from the perspective of someone getting ready to run their first game there! ua-cam.com/video/b-7IvYsin4g/v-deo.html
Well, it's not for a rookie adventurers that's for sure. people of level 5-10 most likely. I think the better question is "Who is NOT going to make it in Scornbel?" Also Mr. Greenwood, I understand that there is more than just swaggering adventures there. How is the life of the local people in Scornbel? I fear that it is unsafe for children to live there with so many dangerous monsters and cults/religions active in the place.
Mr. Greenwood, a question for you. Why hasn't a major surrounding power/nation has not taken over Scornbul yet? If only adventuring bands patrol it, i don't think there is much in the way of military forces to stop anyone with a big enough army from absorbing the place.
Scornubel is under the protection of the nation of Elturgard according to all recent sources (SCAG page 81) "The High Observer's headache is named Scornubel."
@@GameTimeWhy Considering how chaotic the place is, no doubt that most of the people want someone who bring SOME stability to the place. Even if the place is completely wild.
There's taking a place, and then there's holding it. Not at all the same thing. And when caravan and mercenary companies want to have a meeting/trading place NOT ruled heavyhandedly, they'll manage it. If someone moves to take Scornubel, which grew up because of the ferry traffic...what makes it an important trading center will move somewhere else, and they'll have conquered...nothing.
And whoever conquered it will have earned themselves a fight with Elturgard, which considers Scornubel part of its territory. Yet can't hold or police it.
call me an old man but I don’t think all the sounds and special effects are necessary in Ed’s videos. He is entertaining enough on his own. Imagery is fine. Just one person’s opinion.
J!zz. The style of music played in the cantina is called J!zz, named after an in-universe long-reeded musical instrument.
Tomb tappers next? I have always wanted to have them and their magical treasure hoard in a campaign but dont know wnough about them.

My first campaign in the Realms was set in Scornubel.

It could be one of those neutral territory type things. Maybe a group tried that in the past and it led to destabilizing the truce.

Yay, more videos! What does Ed think about people making monsters a playable race?
@Ed Greenwood
Well, time to hop right into the next video.
Somewhere in Texas 19 hour,s ago mr.Welch cried in both rage and joy and he doesn't know why.
Ooo, funky!
Scornubel sounds rad!
Scornubel for the scorned!
BG3, What do you think of the map and setting?
💙
For those curious, the Star Wars cantina music is not jazz, but... jizz.
