I've just spent a whole year thinking the Diana is a film camera. Finding out it has an instant version is pretty dope!
You should try reviewing some more lomography cameras! Something about lomography is pleasing to the senses.

Another fun Sunday video that stirs up memories, smiles. Its getting to be a habit. Not exactly a Leica Sofort is it, giggles? But it looks way more fun. Takes me back to 1979 when i did my Art Foundation, I was told very firmly that I would not be using my Rollei SL35 and its stunning Zeiss primes and was given a Polaroid plastic fantastic and some boxes of film. Oh my goodness what fun I had with that camera; everything from Joiners (not inspired by Hockney but, Jan Dibbets who was much earlier), to multi-exposures, time exposures and I even experimented with Rayographs just using the film packs without the camera. I can tell you that back in the 60s nobody ever called these cameras anything other than Diana as in "Lady Diana". Which brings me forward to 2013 when I bought the Dreamy Diana Lomography Fisheye for my Nikon D700 and D80. Cant say I have used it since so maybe its time to dig it out again he he ;-)
Thanks Vici! Yeah, feeling nostalgic right! I always love instant photography and no matter now digital evolves and I still go back every so often. I've shot all types of modern instant cameras, Instax mini, wide and square, Polaroid 600 and landscape. Just pure fun! Have a nice week!

I'm very tempted to go for the Diana. I guess it is the format's nicer option, even comparing with Fuji and Polaroid, having in consideration the glass lens and that everything is not automatic!
I'm just afraid of one thing... the vignettes! I want the whole frame and not the vignette effect. Does it happen a lot with the glass lens?

Which one is the glass lens one? Is it in deluxe kit or Adriano edition?
This is the opposite of Sofort - wish Leica make a square format in the future :)
You never know! Leica seems to be doing all sorts and Sofort was selling pretty well until recently because of competition and the move to square (bigger print). They may push it to make it happen!

AHHH get out of my head :p i've just bought a 3d printer to make the best Instax camera... i'll try to adapt the rear of an Instax Wide to my MPP 4X5 camera, for now i'm just loading the instax film in the holders, shooting it, reloading it to the instax cartrige and developing with the crappy fuji camera... it works great but it's cumbersome so welcome 3d printing :)
Wow man, you've gone great length to achieve it man! I am too lazy, just go straight to an instax camera :) I did use their 3D printed prototype which wasn't that fun but it worked. This final product is much better though :)

@@thanismurugathas2929 I ended up getting the Lomography Diana Square. I got the white camera with light blue and brown sides. It was a beautiful camera design for sure. I bought the one with all the different lens and stuff, which I thought was a good deal for what I paid. I'm unsure if that one is available anymore. It was a total bummer because I wanted to take some photos on the lomography camera for xmas (which was when I ordered it), and it ended up not working, so they sent me another one. I'm unsure if it's because of the camera I got, but they're def a bit tricky to take photos with. It's very picky with the settings, so you have to make sure you input the right settings otherwise you'll just get a completely black film. Out of 20 films I took pictures with, I got only 4 photos that actually took pictures and it wasn't full on black. I tried playing around with the settings because it was very picky, but still I just couldn't figure out what was happening. Tbh maybe it could be just because I am a beginner, which may be why the images were not showing? If I could go back, I'd probably just buy one that came with automatic settings w/o me having to adjust it.

Too big for a photo vest carry.
I use a 20 year old Rollei flash in the provided shoe adapter. Have to mount the adapter backwards. When the film pops out, it is bent by the flash!
How do you suggest using this indoors?
By an external flash (look in hotshoe flashes, expensive but make a world of a difference when done correctly)
Also set the shutter speed to cloudy
purchased one on the basis of your review. Can you help with an issue I'm having? After a few good shots, all the rest have been black. I'm not shooting w/ pinhole, and I've tried practically every combination of settings imaginable ... still black. Wasted 30 shots thus far. Any ideas, pretty please?
Ryan S first thanks for your support! A quick test is to check is unload the film, if you have any, that will only waste one, so don’t worry. Then remove the lens at the front, now press the shutter to see if it opens. If not, you have a faulty camera and should be returned.
I had the same issue. First camera I ordered didn't work at all, even with a new pack of films. Lomography sent me a new camera, and that one worked but ended up wasting most of my films because they came out to be all black! I just stopped touching my camera now due to me wasting so much films! It's def frustrating.
hey this is a lot better than that other camera you had which was team funded ha ha when you changed the lens its the same as my first camera Canon which you only changed the front element love d that camera still got one but only two conversions ha ha do you still have to put the photos under your arm to help them develope like the old style lsnd cameras from years and years ago ha ha stay safe see ya
Thanks Bene, yes at least this time it works 😂 But Lomography has been one of the most consistent player in the crowdfunding stage. So far, they have managed to complete all the projects and deliver with colours. I love them. Yeah, it's the nostalgic effect whenever you shoot with an instant camera. Just can't help it or feeling my age too haha... but my kids love seeing the film spits out everytime!
Crazy, but there's something to it, I have to admit it. I still miss the SX70, though … (and no, I won't buy a refurbished one - had already more than one in hand, and every time something felt wrong)
hahaha yeah I know exactly how you feel. SX-70 is the god in instant photography! Who doesn't like it. But at the same time, I like Diana, just that toy look gives me a smile everytime.
Looks like fun! This is a very naive question but is there a good way to digitize the prints?
Just a traditional scanner, does the trick :) Another way is to take a picture of the print from your smartphone.

If someone who speaks Spanish pronounces the name in Spanish it will be dee-Ana and English speakers will pronounce it die-Ana... I pronounce it both says depending on which language I’m speaking 🙃

Funny question because this is exactly what you wanna have if you choose a Lomography camera in general and particularly a Diana.

Absolute garbage camera. I was really looking forward to this but the first one wouldn't even eject the dark slide. Nothing happened when you pulled the shutter release. They promptly sent me a new one, and in a deluxe set with all the lenses and accessories. Another dud. Would take 4-5 presses of the shutter level to work, but all the photos were blurry garbage. This was outside in bright daylight too. Plastic lens, glass lens, f/32, f/19, f/11, different zone focus...didnt matter, all crap. My Instax SQ6 and even the little cardboard toy Jollylook camera produced far better results. You know, in focus. Ive been a pro photographer for 15 years and have been published around the world and Im very familiar with Instax film so this isn't my first rodeo, I know cameras pretty well. Avoid this one.
