Will it pick up a lot of algae?

I purchased this about 3 weeks ago, used it twice about 20 mins each time, it took forever to charge, went to use it yesterday and even with a full charge the motor no longer worked.. Purchased June, 17 2024 was junk by July 11th 2024. When it did work it worked great, sadly its as worthless as the 2 other ones I've purchased the pass 2 yrs.
