Just beautiful simply beautiful
A father playing along with his son. I can feel the joy. Thank you Phil and Graham.
God bless you boys.
Thanks for posting. Phil is a living national treasure 🌝
A Treasure we should Cherish...saw him at Christmas Jam last year and he was enjoying playing with Warren and Scofield so much...Forever ,my Favorite Bass Player!
Phil has such a unique way of playing bass. Being self taught with a head full of music theory helped create the GD "sound". (The GD were much more then a "sound") Bobby the same. He created his own way of playing that really accentuated Jerry. All these musicians in the GD created music that could only be accomplished with those specific humans. Hearing Phil weave up/around Jerry was so so interesting and thought provoking. So grateful I was born at the right time to be able to have been part of the GD experience/life
Seeing The Grateful Dead 3 times in 1986 right after the coma, i t came to mind, the whole band was around Phil, he was the centre of it all, was and still is an amazing genius, thank you Phil for that special playing, no one else have ever played the bass this way that makes you want to hear every single note, so melodic, rhythmic, and contrapuntal.
We live in such a wonderful era where on can watch a video from 87’ where Phil talks about become a new father, then immediately follow it up with a performance by the two of them all these years later.
Phil is so proud of his son, you can see it in his eyes. Wonderful for Father’s Day. Thanks
😮😅😅😅😊
😅
As an old timer from the early days of the Capitol Theater in Port Chester and the Fillmore East I thank my lucky stars for traveling the varied and (so) many roads. Thank you Phil and family.
Phil blew me away the first time I saw the Dead in 78 when I was standing right in front of him, and both him and his son just blew me away here 45 years later. Long strange trip indeed!
Father and Son cherish the moments absolutely beautiful. Love hearing anout Phils grandma listening through the wall my grandma listening from heaven❤
GOD Bless the two of you.music wont ever stop!❤🎉
Phil, Meeting and hanging out with you and Bobby Peterson at the "office" in San Raphael years ago when I showed you some of my artwork was a wonderful experience for me. Your kindness, interest and good humor made me feel relaxed, engaged and very happy, just like the music. Cheers!
Phil sounds great here. Wonderful to see he and Grahame doing a set together👏🌹💀❤️
This is great!! I just lost my Mom about 3 days ago at 89. It's nice to see father & son playing music together with Phil being about 83 now I think. Enjoy your time with your dad Grahamme 'cause you never know when you'll last see them.
I am relearning Bass at 65 and love to follow Phil❤ can only play Cold Wind & Rain, but catch other basics from this Master!
Love you Phil (and you too Grahame)!❤
Absolutely beautiful!!!!
The Music Never Stopped
This is pure magic. Phil is a gem. Can see the love between them. Proud daddy and son.
I was there every week at Terrapin experiencing the magic happening for 10 years. We did build a community there and I still have a lot of those friends today. Seeing the joy in Phil's eyes as he would read books to children in the beach park to all the 'year' shows that showcased a show from every year the Grateful Dead played. That took us a few years to get through, lol.
Thank You Phil !!! P.S. - I hope to see Phil at the Trot......
Amen @ The. That place was magic. Full of Lesh family generational generosity. Like so many others, I loved experiencing Terrapin Crossroads for all the years it was there.
💜💟🫶🏽💟💜Love You Phil & Grahame .. this is the bestAH.. Thank you for sharing 🪶❤️🔥🪶
Just awesome guys! Love this, thank you!
Thanks for watching, Gary!
Thanks Nick for this wonderful treat. Phil and son!....very cool and poignant. The interviews are nicely done. The music was sublime. The intro to the last tune reminds me of All Things Must Pass. I'm so glad you have such a great show; you're the perfect host. Hot Rize meets The Grateful Dead!
Never knew that Phil was a lefty. He plays righty but signed his name lefty😎 Thanks for sharing! Awesome stuff here!!
Thanks for watching!
Man that guitar has a sweet voice!
Thanks for this interview. Would love to see the rest of Mike Gordon's questions.
Just awesome 👍👍
Phil plays and sings great. Hope he and Bob team up again
Phil and Bobby acoustic!
Phills our cup to the brim 💜🌹🌹🌹
Very cool!! Excellent!! thnx!!
This whole set was emotional for me but Jack Straw hit me in the heart strings 🙏
I hope Phil gives his life to Christ. Would be AWESOME to have him in heaven playing bass and singing worship songs to the believers and saints!
Many of us share matching DNA, in etown!
Just incredible! Friend of the Devil was amazing
Sometimes I ponder which I admire more, The Grateful Dead as a band or how The Grateful Dead have shared and given so much to so many in the next generations.
The Grateful Dead will likely always be in revival. So many amazing musicians are channeling the soul of the band.
I saw Grahame (with Dad) at the Sheraton lobby in Pittsburgh when Phil & Dylan were touring 2001 or so. He was maybe 10 yrs old!
Grahame says here that he was 8 when Jerry died, so he would've been 14 in 2001.
Very cool
The smile on Grahames face says it all about how he feels about his dad. Wish I could have had priceless moments with my dad like that in our later years. Thank you.
I love these guys!
The Dead😊 among the best ever.
We want Phil 🎸
Hope your birthday this Friday is Stellar Phil! I bow to your Buddha nature. Siochain

nice
Phil the love. 🌹🙏💀
I never realised that Phil was left-handed. So are Mark Knopfler and Paul Simon, who play right.
Wish I could hear Phils bass.
Dude it's solar powered. Get used to it. Very poor lighting as well
I don't think solar power has anything to do with it. I thought it was either the crap tablet or the sound mix. Thanks for your message
Couldn’t hear the bass?? RUFKM??! Granted it’s not the PhilZone mega thunder that one expects at a Dead show but this is not that, dude! I heard every note and they were all glorious (!) as were his vocals and harmonies with HIS SON!! This set and interviews are a priceless treasure….. blessings unto you and eTown, Nick Forster! 🫶🏼🖖🏽🙏🌞🤪
Adding- I don’t really care to much for Phish but big thumbs up to Mike Gordon! Made Phil howl!!😂👍👍
🤷🏻♂️ sounds pretty good on my speakers
