At age sixteen, a runaway to SF, dressed in a purple sari, I placed a pink carnation lei around his neck at Winterland, back when we could still actually get onstage. I asked him to play box of rain. Years later, he excavated it from the crypt, and it was again part of the repertoire. Rest in Aloha, kind minstrel.
Phil Lesh, thank you for everything. You've been a chord woven into the fabric of my life, an anthem echoing through the corridors of history. Rest easy now, maestro-your rhythm beats on in every heart that remembers.
You may be gone from the world but oh the memories. Much Love and Light to his family during this difficult time . I can see him greated by the the ones gone before him. May you rest in peace. ❤😢🙏
Rick killed it all weekend. Every night he was shining brighter than the night before. I hope this is the first of many sit ins with Phil & friends! Goooooooooooooooooose
Have you heard Billy & the Kids? Kreurtzman does something similar to Phil, but has a pretty solid core of Reid from Strangefolk, Aron Magnet Disco Bis. & Tom H from Jrad, Brothers Past and more. I think that core 4 is awesome. (much rather see them then Dead and Co $$ grab. I went to see them in 2021 and group also had James Casey on Sax, Billy Strings and, a local musician and Jason from SCI made appearances. I've done a lot of post GD shows. Ive done 4 further tours. The Dead in 09. Probably 75-85 Phil shows. Two full Rat Dog tour's, and then like 4 tours when they were changing names of banf every year. Phil and Bob both in line-up and both stubborn so ea H wouldn't let their guy not play in band. Anyways saying all this, those B&K Red Rock's shows were some my fav "Grateful Dead" related shows ever. My favorite I attended was 99 Phil and Shoreline but Billy & Kids come in hot. Billy Strings & Tom H just glued. They sounded so POLISHED. What a trip to RR for Bills 74th B Day Bash
Only Phil has that massive aura of genuine goodness such as to pull this group together and make magic. God bless you Phil. Thank you for putting this up Relix. It is 🔥 NFA
@@offtherecord86 Why does every new player into the Dead community have to get such hype around him/her? They always have good players, and no, they're not a "prodigy". This kid is good, but he sounds like everyone else who plays the Jerry leads. Nothing new or different. Well done and how it should be approached. The god worship with some of these musicians is weird.
@@afmartin2734 nope, Rick is a prodigy. He's only getting started. Just check out some of his latest run with Goose. There's a reason Trey from Phish is playing with him...

Wow 16:10-18:09 is an absolute masterclass of building energy through melodic storytelling. Just incredible. Each plateau hits the next peak and climbs. Amazing.
Damn, I was only gonna watch a couple minutes of this just to get a taste. Watched/listened to the whole thing. Something about this music just sucks you in.
Goose is just skyrocketing onto the scene, thanks to Rick and his jams that just take you awaaaaaaay! Gotta get back to the Bay Area early 2023… and summer !!
Wowza that was hot fire...im so excited for this weekend with the man the myth marcus king!! Can't wait to see what he brings to the table in a dead setting

RIP Phil, another dark star has joined the cosmos. Say hi to Jerry for us!
Phil can simultaneously hold down the rhythm and bring in beautiful melodic rings.
Thanks for everything Phil.
Rick is bringing this indescribable energy back to the scene. Absolutely amazing player.
Rick's good but he isn't "bringing this indescribable energy back to the scene" he's just expanding on the basic core elements.
Listening to this & watching make's you realize that Garcia's Spirit will never be gone, seem's like he's still playing that guitar !
