I'm from New Zealand, and have only just discovered you guys!!! All I can say is WOW!!! Probably the coolest sound I have heard since the '60's, and I am a 66 year old music nut job!!!
Encountered "Donna the Buffalo" at a street fair in Asheville, North Carolina during a visit in 1998 and bought their CD "Rockin' in the Weary Land", which includes this tune. This one, "Sailing" and "Conscious Evolution" are my favorites. Glad to know the Buffalo is still rockin'.
+Wind Tested Oh yes he has appreciation. He isn't Miley Cirus, but is truly loved. The underground is stronger than the mainstream ...Never doubt that!!!
Huge Jeb Puryear fan: love his soulful phrasing and tasty licks! Not under-rated by anyone with an appreciation for a true, humble musician, at one with his Fender.
In the rain that falls On jive street In the truth that forms On the rising steam I'm here cleaning my connection To the forces that be In a trance of god On the funky side In a trance of love On the funky side In the shape I'm in You can see for miles Shooting through the cloud On a magic sound I'm here cleaning my connection To everything around The groove is getting deeper My heart's open wide So good of you to come along We'll focus on the main beam And we'll go to a world in which we belong
Saw them at Merlefest 2017. Loved that reggae beat and yes, Jeb is an awesome guitar player and really entertaining performer. They closed off Sat. night with a rousing show. One of my fav's at Merlefest. The whole band is awesome. Very talented bunch.
I love how DTB music sends me into this circular rhythm - a meditative groove of mellow ecstatic movement! Keep it going! See you soon for my birthday in Asheville!!
When it comes to good music 🎵🎶🎵.....People who know, just know about DTB... Saw them in North Hampton MA in 2008 , with Sim Redmond.... it was a whiskey good night !!
I just happened to click here and, wow, that lady on the accordion is funky, for sure! She is very talented. I know that she and this guy writes most of their stuff, but she seems to have the best talent in this band. I would put them up there with Black Prairie.
Mercy. That's good stuff. I don't know anything about this band but I like what I hear so far. Good video, not cell phone dreg. I wonder about the head gear? Why do some musicians decide to take on a look? I hate that avocado thing Billy Gibbons wears all the time. He puts a cowboy hat on top. Not right.
I'm trying to find out the title of 2 songs I saw them do in a documentary about the Blue Heron Festival. Lyrics on one said "Roadkill" and the other one said "if I could ? choose how I would die". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the post
If they did a song called "Roadkill" it was a cover of a HorseFlies song, or they were playing it with members of the HorseFlies on stage with them...The HorseFlies are another amazing band from the same spot in upstate NY as Donna, and have always played alongside them at all the Grassroots Festivals and beyond. Well worth finding their albums "Human Fly" and "Gravity Dance."
Yeah I’ve been looking to Joan a ban but it’s like I’m bubble boy with COVID I seen tat movie he only has a 3 inch joystick but man he got some moves yo
Everything about that is wonderful!

I first seen them perform in Rochester, NY in 1991.Love them and proud to be part of the herd. Love you missed you at Bands on the Bricks.
Incredibly underrated guitar player. A style unlike any other and sadly, no one knows who Jeb is.
+Wind Tested we herd of him...and love him and them.

more for the real heads
I know Jeb, he's spot on...
In the rain that falls
On jive street
In the truth that forms
On the rising steam
I'm here cleaning my connection
To the forces that be
In a trance of god
On the funky side
In a trance of love
On the funky side
In the shape I'm in
You can see for miles
Shooting through the cloud
On a magic sound
I'm here cleaning my connection
To everything around
The groove is getting deeper
My heart's open wide
So good of you to come along
We'll focus on the main beam
And we'll go to a world in which we belong

I seen Donna the buffao and Allison piptone and the haydevils as a child and have been hooked ever since
Takes me back to Bliss Fest 2022
Good stuff!
I like this band. 🎶
Why aren't these folks huge!!
Always a mystery how some bands become big while others who seem to “have that thing”, just go along under the radar, and you never hear of them.
Talent sadly has nothing to do with popularity.
They're huge in their own way, they consistently headline a large regional music festival (Grassroots).
Love you Donna the Buffalo! My husband loves playing guitar to your songs! We need T-Shirts!
Saw them at Greyfox. They are so funky and great I get goosebumps!
I love the vibe that Jeb is.
Whoa... they KILLED... in the zone... and now... we're all in the Funky SIde... .

Love these people and they have a great social conscience as well. Yes indeedy (as Jeb likes to say)!
Wonderfully understated. I'm glad I found this.

Monsieur Perlyea’s vocal phrasings/slides with dance-like picking to boot. Tburg got hot!

Yes, he was.
@@MundaSquire Without it he goes incognito.

who gives a shit about the "head gear" ? DTB are a very tight band.

Sounds like Mark Knopfler met Eddie Van Halen.
Pretty much. The Knopfler thing is obvious.

nice fat sound
I am sorry but no - He seems half asleep and I don't think Eric Clapton has to worry. lol He mentioned Jarvis Street - Jarvis is in Toronto
pretty sure its Jive street...
They wrote this entirely about every one of us freaks ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I hope !
I confer your honor

I like this group....proof that i can coexist on a "being entertained" level with actual neckbearded communists.
The band isn't into labels like yourself.
