Great developments going on at Barry. The large building at the Waterfront with 3 adjacent coaches, now stands where the empty shed used to be. Watch out for an update soon
Never seen an 08 with no Rods before, impressive. Bet it's only one on UA-cam Mike. Bet it used to be a busy place in its day, plenty of track and big shed. Shame it's so run down now. Insulated tie rod at beginning brought back memories. Big thanks for sharing your video. Class70, is a class 52 wannabe. Was it the stove rattling in the cab, used to be on class 08, 24, 25 &47s lol Take care out there.
I think it's a typo, meant to be 08503, it was previously D3658, I think. I not an expert, just looked on 'Railway Database' online. I think Mike's just hit the D key instead of the 0 key,🙂. Is that right Mike, or have I got it wrong? Cheers Rich
I don't know about Crewe circles , I believe the circles were put on when locos were working on the channel tunnel rail link , the couplings were for moving the eurostar trains . Same as the class 91s , they had circles too and they were named too.
Great video. Never seen an 08 without the connecting rods before.
me neither, a first for me, well, a running one under power, seen 'em towed with no rods, but, this is a first
It’s amazing how a Class 08 can still run without coupling rods attached.
Nice filming at deserted Barry yard, Mike - different from the open day when it was choc a block !! - Ian 👍👍

Great video Mike. Did the 70 drop you to do your shopping at Morrisons? 😄
No, but they did provide a great breakfast ( before COVID)

Is that 73 carrying the Crewe Electric depot circles too ?? Also what's the coupling on it, is it for Pendo type trains .
