I think this is the first ever entry to score at least 100 points without a single set of 12 (this scored maximum 10 from 🇨🇭 and 🇹🇷). Other times this would happen prior to 2004: 🇳🇴 Norway 1996 (114 points) - max. 10 from 🇸🇮, 🇳🇱 and 🇸🇪. 🇸🇪 Sweden 2001 (100 points) - max. 10 from 🇩🇰. 🇦🇹 Austria 2003 (101 points) - max. 10 from 🇮🇸 and 🇵🇹.
Brilliant orchestra here, one of the best. Really amplifies the drum beat and lifts the feel of the song. Slightly faster tempo than the studio version too. A really simple understated performance that thoroughly deserved 4th place. I would have put it 3rd behind Norway and Germany. Bravo Vikki
@@doggdogg6019 If you don't mind me asking, isn't that plagiarism? Did Vikki get permission from Secret Service to use the same 'sound' if you see what I mean? Could Secret Service have sued her for ripping off their song? Thanks for your reply all the same however.
@@Diamondblade2008 I can't see anything suggesting there was ever any legal action taken or threatened. that could be because they didn't think the case was strong enough to win, or they simply never noticed/cared
@@SuperCatman they did notice. I remember a “plagiarism” claim being covered by at least one UK newspaper in the week of the contest. It came to nothing, of course, as, well, let’s be honest, no one gave two hoots.
You’re from 2024 with staging tips? Staging? What? We need to stage the song as people judge the whole performance not just the song! Crap, we’re on in five minutes ….quick, grab a chair from the kitchen and we’ll make her dance around it. What? We need more? Ok put the backing singers right at the back but make sure she side walks in a dance to hide the ugly one, we’ll only let people see them at the very end. Get her to walk and sing to a new part of the stage for the key change. They are in dark blue so she’ll really pop in electric light blue. Scrap the wind machine, she has so much hairspray it won’t move anyway. Is this how they do it in 2024? Are we still winning or coming second in the 21st century?
I love this song. Very good performance. The song really reminds me of 80s Kylie Minogue songs. But hate her Margaret Tratcher haircut lol. Also the last line was definitely playbacked. 😂
@@nadirhajjour she did start to sing the last line along with them but she raised her hand for the final 'big finish' so moved the mic from her mouth and then you only heard the backing. I love the overall performance personally 🙂
@@hereisthenews7793 honey I'm expressing my opinion that going to songs you don't like to leave negative comments is wasting your time and mine. Good day.
One of my favorite UK entries. Really love the Kylie Minogue vibes the song has.
The best
😊❤❤❤❤❤
The lyrics have been used so many times.

Nice; A more classy entry from us for a change.
Song samples 'Ten O'Clock Postman' by Secret Service. Got to love those sexy side-steps at 2:03!
Not sampled but practically the same chorus and definitely the same intro. ua-cam.com/video/zESKng3g188/v-deo.html

I remember watching the eurovision i used to say the Americans at 7 or 8 yrs old i didnt know anything about Europe at first lol
They were singing in English so that's what I assumed good old days
SO much better than the winning song.

No playback allowed, strict rules of the time. It was the backing vocalists singing it.
@DeeJay_78 yes I know! I meant that she was playbacking to her backing vocalists.

4th
Sue Glover and Sunny Leslie from Sue & Sunny on backing vocals.
2:16 😮❤
Direct from the Flintstones.
Fire- Desire: Villain Origin Story
Estonian version: Nancy "Pilgud ja nooled"
omg, it's like Whighfield meets Vikki! Aitäh💙🖤🤍
Omg it’s Margaret thatcher
Love "was"...
Eurovion song contest died long time ago .
fire + desire = a banal rhyme
the only worse one is together+forever
Overrated in my opinion. The composition is too simple and unfortunately she does not hit the quiet tones.
Disagree entirely
Absolutely awful.

Margaret Thatcher. Horrible song and singer.
