  • I go to the beach to do some Milky Way astrophotography. I snap an absolute banger of a sunset shot then have time to kill until it gets dark enough for some Milky Way action.
So to fill in some time I decide to do a little bit on how I take Milky Way and Astrophotography selfies.
this little UA-cam vlog is filmed using my Nikon Z5 with the 24-50 f4-6.3 kit lens and my Nikon Z50 with the 16-50 f3.5-6.3 vr kit lens.
all the photographs are taken using the Nikon Z5 0r Nikon Z50 with either the 20mm f1.8g or the 40mm f2 lens attached.
I hope you enjoy my little UA-cam how to vlog, and thank you for watching.

Cool tutorial buddy. I love Milky Way selfies! I usually do intervals so I can crack multiple poses and have more time to walk around in different positions. Let me try your elephants counting method next time. I’ve always struggled with focusing on myself for portraits though 😂 not easy to do in the dark and alone.

Thanks Keith. I have used intervals before, but have sort of settled on this. I always either pre focus the lens, or with wide angle I know that if it's on infinity and I am more than 3 or 4 meters from the camera I will be in focus. Hope you have had some clear skies!

@@focusphotonsfrugally6644 yeah for wide angle shots, hyperfocal distance is important. Haven’t had an ideal night to shoot! And lately getting a lot busier too so an all nighter is harder to get by.
