My packaging said to press the rear button to hear the current air quality status. Pressing the button doesn't do anything so far.

Pet dander range from 5 to 10 microns. A quarter of pet dander can be 2.5 microns. So, this would only detect some of it, but will definitely tell you that there is an increased concentration of PM 2.5
