Definitely one of the better looking modern Cadillacs designed even now in FY24, it still looks great. The V model is what everyone wants tho, and those hold its value somewhat. no Cadillacs will ever look as good as they did in the 50s and 60s. Now the CTS-V Wagon with manual 6 speed is a true gem! 💎
So true this is an amazing design. It gave me the same wow that the first cts provided in the early 2000's, nothing looked like that car. And all these years later the coupe has proven that it has its only special place in history. I wish the ATS was closer in design to this.
I have had a 2011 high performance 3.6 AWD Premium 6 spd. auto for a year now. I added black chrome wheels, red caliper covers, Cooper Zeon RS3-A tires, an Airaid cold air in take and a Borla exhaust. We've always had SUV or trucks for camping and fishing. It's just my wife and I, we just retired, and love this car. We get complements on it all the time. Looks great, sounds great and fun to drive.
I rarely see these on the roads but that's good in the sense people dont even know this car exists. I like the rarity of it, and it still looks modern besides the front grill, but that can always be modified
Hey question for you, I have a 2012 AWD Premium coupe and have had issues with the AWD on an SRX same year with aftermarket wheels. Did you use factory black wheels, how is the vehicle holding up? I want to add black chrome wheels to mine but don't want to mess with the offset and ride height because of the AWD system, what did you use? Thanks for your time.
I've driven Audi, BMW, Lexus, and I have owned this car in black for multiple yeas and it is a luxury muscle car. I got rid of my mustang GT to get this and I used it as my all year round car> It has the best AWD, the car gets looks and compliments every week. It is stands out from other cars. I NEVER got compliments on the Beamer or Audi..why? Because they look like every other car. I love this car. I will keep it as long as I can. To those saying it is ugly...I don't get it. But, I guess in to each their own. I think it has a great ass. I'm a 58 year old woman with class. I love this car.
Mannnn i bought my mother one 2 years ago and recently she let me drive it to a party one night and i fell in love with this car ALLL over again and i bought me a used one WHAT A BAD AZZZZ CAR. !!!!!
@aceHADOKAN69 - Sorry to bring any confusion. They have 3 variations of the CTS. The base price of the high-end version we were in (Premium) starts at $47,000. The one we tested had options on top of that. You are correct, you can get into the CTS coupe base for $38,000, but it's pretty bare... it doesn't even have a full leather interior or bluetooth, for example.
let me tell you all something this car handles like it 's on rails, I have pushed it and it's very responsive for the weight of it but I have driven it and if you think this thing is a clod you have the wrong idea, this car moves and steers where you put it, and yes it's a Cadillac, and that's why I bought it, because I don't trust bmw or Mercedes, they cost to much after the purchase .
We hope you watched the entire comparison to see the results and understand our reasoning. But, as we've stated before these were the top versions just below the high performance models (The M3, RS5, & CTS-V). If we included the A5 we would have needed a lessor version of the other two models as well.
@AlternativeUses - The CTS-V is aimed more at the BMW M3, which means it's also up against the Audi RS5 - a car we don't have in the US... yet. Those are all 400+ hp monsters with price tags around 70k. This group is all in the 300hp range, and in the 50k range for price. That's why we grouped these guys together for this comparo. Thanks for watching. The BMW piece is a few weeks (not months) away. ;-)
@asdfgoogle - Great catch. BMW pioneered the Sports Sedan segment with their 3 series - and then proceeded to make the 3 in every other variation: Convertible, Coupe, and Wagon. So, while they are all offshoots of the same major idea (Sports Sedans) - we are specifically focused on the Coupe part here.
The car sets are amazing beautiful breathing! If its not broken leave it a lone. Great job GM the sky can never be the limit until we reach Heaven with Jesus Christ!!!
I bought this car and I like the drive feel of it. Its perfect for people who want a two door but feels like they are in a sedan. Also if you are tall there is a switch to drop the seat down closer to the floor and you have your head space. Im 5 9 and have a 34 inseam for legs. the leg room is great. Hes right it never has that rockey feel. You could be doinh 75 and feel like you are swaying on an idle boat.
@StuinthaHouse - We actually prefer a car to require MORE driver involvement, not less. (Well, Todd definitely prefers it... Paul varies). We recommend you watch our Nissan GTR, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and Mercedes C300 reviews. Hopefully you'll see that the more a car drives itself the more it bores us.
This is by far the hottest car on the market right now for around 50k. I just got one and love the ride, its fast enough but not too fast for me to rack up tickets and i get nothing but great complements from everyone that sees it. The problem with Audi and BMW's is that everyone has one and they all look the same except the higher end line. Very boring if you ask me. This wins by far the best looking car award for 2011.
hello, after 7 months of owning it are you still happy with the car? I'm used to the bmw 328i and benz c300 but i think its time to jump american once again. I owned a newer camaro and had lots of fun with it. I think this will be a mixture of both. Let me know your pros and cons about it. thanks
I think a lot of the reason why it is such a heavy car is because they are quite new at this and they finally have made something that can compete with the others. They will get better as times goes by and the platforms will lighten up. How come you guys didn't add In the Infiniti G37 IPL. I think it is a strong contender to the 335is with its beefier suspension and 20 or so more horsepower and a starting price of over 47k. Could you guys do a comparison between the G35 coupe and g37 coupe?
@EverydayDriver i see what you mean about the specs but im thinking more in line with performance figures. the cts 3.6 does 0-60 in about 6 seconds, the 335is and S5 do it in about 5 flat, and the CTS-V does it in about 4 seconds. nevertheless, the fact that the cts 3.6 is an oddball doesnt mean that it disqualifies for this comparison test
The review was very well done, for sure. But, as others have mentioned, the '09 CTS-V are are less than the new CTSs, and being the armchair critic that I am, that is what I would prefer.
I stand up and applaud Cadillac for offering this with manual transmission. Unfortunately I may never drive one as it is way out of my $ league. Well, maybe a used one someday. If the Dodge Charger Hemi came with a manual transmission it would be my must have. Base price in Canada right now is $40,805 v6 auto $3,000 rebate applied. To get a manual transmission? $70,825 rebate applied. Ok, I'm sitting down again.
Hey I was wondering if you guys have ever driven the first gen CTS-V (preferably with the LS6) because I'm in the process of getting one from the dealership I work at and I just wanted to know what to expect, what you guys think, and how it would work as a *somewhat* every day driving car
good review... but shouldnt the S5 be pitted more against the CTS-V? The 335is and S5 are kindve in the middle ground between the CTS here and the CTS-V. That being said, i look forward to part 2 of this review when its going to be released in 6 months or so
@EverydayDriver Sedan is a type of body, to be simple how the back end of the car looks like. If it has a proper boot not a hatchback its a sedan. It can be a coupe or a SALOON which has four doors.
Damn... almost 2 tons... thats way too heavy for a sport car... thats why I still like older Japanese cars.... here comes the tear when I remember my old Primera with only 1200kg :)
Before I say something bad about the Pontiac G6 convt, let me just say that the CTS he had was a great car and Cadillac has certainly come a long ways. Good job GM! Now, all they need to do is bring the Caddy back in house like you did for the C7 Vette. Maybe just leave the interior in-house by say...the guys in Bowling Green. They did such a nice job on the C7, just imagine how dope they could make the Caddy!
@c0nv1ct1337 When the CTS platform was launched in 2002, it was intended to compete with Mercedes E class and the BMW 5 series. Over the years, these cars have grown as have their smaller brothers whereas the CTS has remained relatively the same. Today, the E-class and 5-series are much bigger which is why it's usually compared to the Mercedes C-class or the 3-series BMW, although it's still a little bigger than them....except for this coupe version, maybe. Btw. the Audi S4 is just as expensive.
Interior decent but comparing it to an Audi or BMW is quite daring(especially Audi). not buying the comparison after viewing it in person with an open mind, but interior is pretty good.
I've noticed that a lot of auto reviewers, not just these guys, are giving cars a bad review when it takes a little more skill to control them. What is a car only good when it practically drives itself? I guess I'm behind on the times, and I'm only 24.

'This car weighs almost 4000 lbs. That's 4000 lbs. Did I mention the car weighs 4000 lbs. The car's heavy and could stand to be lighter, because it weighs almost 4000 lbs.' I get it. It's heavy. Move on.
this is the most beautiful car Cadillac ever made
i agree , wanted to trade mine in for a new one , but nothing compares
Got the same one in the same colour 🔥
Shame Cadillac does not listen to consumers, they discontinued the cts coupe, sad

This is absolutely one of the best looking cars ever.
Doug Saint Carter I think it's the opposite, but then again it's just an opinion.
So true this is an amazing design. It gave me the same wow that the first cts provided in the early 2000's, nothing looked like that car. And all these years later the coupe has proven that it has its only special place in history. I wish the ATS was closer in design to this.
I believe you're right, these CTS Coupes may become more of a big deal in years to come.
I'm trying to buy one right now. The design is timeless.
Ness Rosenbrad really? I thought it looked great in 2011 when it came out but now I think it looks VERY dated now.
I have had a 2011 high performance 3.6 AWD Premium 6 spd. auto for a year now. How's it running now? I've heard the knock on them is the electronics
I rarely see these on the roads but that's good in the sense people dont even know this car exists. I like the rarity of it, and it still looks modern besides the front grill, but that can always be modified

I own an '05 CTS SPORT. Man, l love that beautiful machine.
1:14 "Inspired by a prison shiv". NOW I want one.
I love the fact that EverydayDriver picks even, interesting matchups every time. Can't wait for part 2 and 3.
In terms of looks I'd take this car over a Gallardo, but that's just me
It’s gotta be a CTS-V Coupe in order to take over a Lambo Gallardo of course not this weak ass V6 POS
Actually I could feel the honesty from both drivers, well done........
Beautiful car. Stands out from the crowd of "blah" common-looking cars. Love this color also.
I agree it definitely looks different and stands out. How are the back seats for a coupe? Can adults fit ?
I love CTS Coupe. It’s my second CTS & maybe it’s just me but I love em! I drivin the BMW & Benz but when it’s said & done with it’s what you want.
Mannnn i bought my mother one 2 years ago and recently she let me drive it to a party one night and i fell in love with this car ALLL over again and i bought me a used one WHAT A BAD AZZZZ CAR. !!!!!

better used than new
I like how Todd described it as a "luxury muscle-car" but maybe more towards the CTS-V tho??
We hope you watched the entire comparison to see the results and understand our reasoning. I am looking at this a style of car and several others but I want to say thank you for your review it was comfortable
@AlternativeUses - The CTS-V is aimed more at the BMW M3, which means it's also up against the Audi RS5 - a car we don't have in the US... yet. Those are all 400+ hp monsters with price tags around 70k.

nice job not comparing it to smaller sports cars. well done

It's my car of choice beautiful design and quit all you haters suck it up
Head room hilarious 🤣 but I Love it
Actually not to bad in them with the seat to the floor and back lol
The car sets are amazing beautiful breathing! If its not broken leave it a lone. Great job GM the sky can never be the limit until we reach Heaven with Jesus Christ!!!
@yyyy2999 - It was closed for a while because of Fires in the Angeles Crest. But, it's all open now and repaved... amazing driving!
Great review.....meaningful information. Smart.
Interesting. Glad to see the videos return.
I bought this car and I like the drive feel of it. Its perfect for people who want a two door but feels like they are in a sedan. Still treating you well?
@13slot28 - Great idea... you've read our minds. We're scheduling a comparison very similar to that in the coming months.
finally, one of my favorite reviewers are back!
can't wait for part 2 and 3 GERMAN power
you guys make cars look like gladiators!!!!!
see you all in 3 months when part 2 comes out
hahah jokes guys keep up the great work!
@plagick - Yes, Angeles Crest HWY. Good eye. It isn't all closed, but you have to be creative to find access. Too bad, really, as it's great driving.
keep it up guys!!! Cant wait for subsequent parts
Good info I am considering buying one
@EverydayDriver thats awesome I cant wait!!!! :D keep up the good work guys
Looking forward to these reviews
I think i want this car
The CTS styling was inspired by the F-117 stealth fighter, Dork- not an iron.....
This car looks amazing with the Hard-Lines. BMW and Audi's are shaped like Easter Eggs.
i love u guys.... yall are too funny
"Terrible floaty Cadillac ride" ,I guess these two clowns were raised cramped in the back seat of a Toyota Corolla
Apparently you haven't driven one!
You weren't listening moron. They were making the point that this generation of CTS does NOT have a floaty ride like Cadillacs of yesteryear.
And it's pretty, real pretty!
The CTS is for Ambulance Chasers who pulled their first courtroom Hat-Trick. Soulless, like my adopted son.
Great review. Now upload part 2!!!
@StuinthaHouse - We actually prefer a car to require MORE driver involvement, not less. (Well, Todd definitely prefers it... Paul varies). My dad leased an 08 CTS when they first came out. Traded in his Pontiac g6 convertable...
hello, after 7 months of owning it are you still happy with the car? I'm used to the bmw 328i and benz c300 but i think its time to jump american once again. I owned a newer camaro and had lots of fun with it. I think this will be a mixture of both. Let me know your pros and cons about it. thanks
CTS is artwork in motion, Cadillac has got it back! The lines and stance of this CTS make BMWs look demure and geriatric.
amazing review

Great video guys...wish I could be work with you! :)
awsome u shoul do a Bang 4 the buck car section.. like the new Scion tc vs Forte Kupe and new civic
Interested in what your final verdict will be...
I don't like the car, but I like the review.
Hey I was wondering if you guys have ever driven the first gen CTS-V (preferably with the LS6) because I'm in the process of getting one from the dealership I work at and I just wanted to know what to expect, what you guys think, and how it would work as a *somewhat* every day driving car

That's why I bought my CTS when I was 20. Now I'm 22 and with a lot more attitude and not sure what to buy...
THE BEST 👍
Wish the back seats were more usable for adults like the 3 series coupe.
Thanks for reviewing cts coupe what about sedan ?
Can't wait for the Audi.
@EverydayDriver Sedan is a type of body, to be simple how the back end of the car looks like. If it has a proper boot not a hatchback its a sedan. It can be a coupe or a SALOON which has four doors.
"Are American cars OK to buy? ..... this car competes all day long against it's German competitors!" - It's nice to have a dream!
utubecomment21 Hahaha explain why our cars beat the German sedans.
Watch Jeremy Clarkson the good the bad and the ugly - Cadillac vs Jaguar. That's all you need to now about American cars!
Ladies and Gentleman I give you The Emperor’s New Clothes!
The reviewers should have gone to specsavers
😀🤣😀😂

Nice Alliteration
This would be nice as a convertible...
Everyone bitches about the weight. When you live somewhere that it snows, that's a bonus!
OMG, its like. he says "its nice but its not but i like it"
me vote caddy!!!
comfortability
sportiness
and stand out design
caddy all the way!
@Charly1985snoop beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Great to see Cadilac making a comeback...welcome back Cadilac, We missed ya!
@YUBU8 So far as comfortability and sportiness are concerned, some reviews clearly stated it doesn't have either of those things.
y'all is this an everyday car if I have to drive to and from work is 40 miles each. lmk
lol were did you guys get the base price of 47,000?
Base price is $38,165
I've noticed that a lot of auto reviewers, not just these guys, are giving cars a bad review when it takes a little more skill to control them.
What is a car only good when it practically drives itself? I guess I'm behind on the times, and I'm only 24.
after owning a 6,000lb X5,weight is not something i complain about
What road is this? Isn't Angeles Crest HWY closed? Is this mullholland , Santa Monica? Anyone know?
I want this car👍
Did you get into the opposite lane several times???
Any chance you guys testing a CTS-V?
Lolol cts vs 3 series? I swear they're letting anyone review cars. It's a 5 series competitor not a 3. That's what the ATS is for.
At the time this review was done the ATS was still a ways away, and Cadillac themselves were claiming the CTS as a 3 Series competitor. You're right that the ATS is now their competitor to the BMW 3, while the CTS has grown and is aimed at the 5. You might enjoy our review of the ATS verses the 3 series and Lexus IS. The ATS didn't even exist when they made this video, Sherlock. Don't let five seconds of research get in your way.
Ahh the internet. Where everyone is a critic. I enjoyed this review -- very thorough and honest.
when are the nest episode comming out
everytime i watch the "model shots" of the car in the middle of the road i think, what if another car came round.....
I think the CTS nav screen slides out very differently than the Audi a8. The Audi comes out and then up, while this thing simply slides up. Not as cool IMO.
sports sedan, or sports coupe????...
'This car weighs almost 4000 lbs. That's 4000 lbs. Did I mention the car weighs 4000 lbs. The car's heavy and could stand to be lighter, because it weighs almost 4000 lbs.'
I get it. It's heavy. Move on.
I wouldn't "buy it because I want some attitude". I'd buy it because I was born with an attitude-
@EverydayDriver where do you guys get 6.1? try 6.5
I would feel great driving the Caddy. I'd just feel stupid in a BMW.
Get the V.
2 onece as a shortcut to go to bridgeport on a holiday weekend and both of my dogs had puked before I made it to the top.
