THE ABSOLUTE WORST CARWASH FAIL EVER! Extreme malfunctioning Ryko voyager Shell Burian WA (Read des)

Out of my 4 years of being a car wash enthusiast I have never expected something like this to happen! I was in Burien Washington to check up on the 1st class carwash to see how the Hanna Autostar was doing. On the way there I passed by the shell with the voyager and I was SHOCKED to see it open! As my last visit of it when the arm thrashing got worse and the top wash being broken I thought it didn’t have much time left. Boy was I right as a few days later it was closed until about August! What is the most recent street view showed it open! It wasn’t even open when Carwash Reviews and More came down in July! So this was a unplanned visit! I was quite happy to see it open too! Unfortunately my happiness was short-lived When it started to pull of its infamous thrashing antics again. This has apparently seemed to take a toll on it as the machine kept jumping and jerking to the back of the bay where the left front arm decided to lodge itself behind the car. I was getting ready To pull off the treadle And reverse back on it Hoping it would start moving to the front of the bay but before I was able to do it it shut off! This pissed me off And I went inside Where the employee inside gave me my money back and another code and said she would shut it down after If it did it again. After this I walked up to the machine To explain what Happened as you guys see! However the owner saw me And had to reset the machine. She asked if I screwed it up (Assuming I didn’t know what I was doing) and I explained to her about the problem About the arms thrashing and how it got stuck behind the car and got stuck. Surprisingly the owner nor the employee were even aware of the thrashing problem Despite that it’s been doing this for almost 2 years! So the owner went inside and got ANOTHER code so she could see it for herself. And unsurprisingly it started malfunctioning again and the same arm got stuck behind the car. This time however it got unstuck and started going forward but the worst was yet to come. When It got to the back again The arm got stuck again, but this time it was not able to get unstuck and it tried going forward to finish the wash cycle While it was still stuck. At this point the owner starts freaking out while signaling me to drive out. Unfortunately with my luck my front tires kept skidding out on the treadle Resulting in Lots of damage! After this I pulled to the front and behold there was a huge dent In the spot where the arm got stuck! At this point I went inside to file an insurance claim. (This is currently being taken care of so do not worry!) overall this was a total nightmare and quite a scary experience. To think how this Is how my October started! 😂🤦♂️ It will be quite a while before I come back if ever! Feel free to leave your thoughts on this total experience from hell in the comments! 🤦♂️

Part of me is sad it opened up after I was there, but another part of me is glad it didn’t fail on us. That is the most insane fail I’ve ever seen!!

I thought that horrible XS 1 that the Elevator Channel was bad, but this, this one takes it to a whole new level. What a horrible wash! I wouldn’t return if I were you.
This is probably #1 for worst carwash on UA-cam
I plan on returning when I hear it gets fixed I have a friend who knows a employee here so I can stay updated

Just a car wash that has zero maintenance done to it.
This is why I leave my vehicle running when doing the stand still car washes.
I do that now too but I only used to do it then as habit to save on gas due to inflation! lesson learned for sure!

well this particular problem has since been fixed but the machine still runs really rough. This thing needs a LOT of TLC thats for sure

The DTMF keypad in the beginning should have scared you away. They used you car as guinea pig and didn't believe you. Hope it's fixed.
they believed me as they shutdown the wash right afterwards and they paid for all the repairs.
The voyagers are getting old, the last voyager in my own city was finally ripped out a couple years ago, with the entire gas station being rebuilt, I miss those old machines.
You should make that shell gas station pay extra for their dumbness and not knowing that the wash was malfunctioning that badly even after it was “fixed” 🤣
Damage was fixed in February and the gas station is planning on buying a new machine to replace this one soon.
When I go through a car wash I only get the ones with no brushes for this very reason. Those brushes can get stuck.
This is One of the Worse Maintained Washes I EVER Seen! I Can’t Believe How it Damaged Your Truck. Hopefully They Can Replace This Wash Soon. Awesome and Insane Video Btw. :D

These types of self serve car washes are a piece of sh*t. They are rarely maintained and the biggest problem is you might
get your money back but nothing gets fixed. They figure a certain loss but I don't understand why these are not maintained properly. I recommend go to a legitimate "manned" car wash where there are actual people that guide your car onto the moving track, hose your car down, scrub windshield and back window and operate the car wash.

Replacement idea maybe ask someone if they can replace this machine into a new Ryko soft gloss maxx 5
honestly i think it could be saved if they get the unbalanced brushes fixed, but i can understand why a new machine would be the more favorable option.

Holy fucking shit, that is bad! You’re so lucky that didn’t break your rear window. My friend actually works at this gas station and i’m gonna tell him about what’s going on with this thing and i will show him this video.
Yeah it’s bad alright although they are actually aware of the problem as me my dad and the owners are taking care of it
As for the car wash itself it definitely needs to have the brushes realigned and maybe some new hydraulic cylinders for the arms or to have the pressure adjusted on the current ones!

If you knew the carwash was going to malfunction, why did you use it?
thinking it was a glitch and i had already paid for the wash. Now before you get butthurt and start insulting me for that decision like an idiot, the damage got repaired for free and i did get my money back as i have said to everyone else that have asked me the same thing over and over again. So all's well that ends well and this car wash has since closed permanently
This is why i don't go in car washes like that because the last time i went through something like that it almost destroyed my car immediately yeah no way on earth I would sit in a car wash like that and get my car destroyed as well I'd really lose my temper after that they need to replace the whole system and machinery needs to be replaced immediately that's not supposed to happen at all
true but this car wash has been closed for over a year now so i have little hope its gonna reopen unless they completely remodel it or it gets the repairs it needs to safely operate.

It’s an old machine that clearly isn’t being serviced and maintained properly. An old machine, because the owner is being cheap.

Another thing is that I have seen this machine slowly deteriorate over the years. Which is a a shame because back in 2018 this machine was a awesome system then! Sadly it is overdue for lots of repairs :(

This has happened to me so many times I hate how car washes like that end up turning into a disaster this has happened to me a lot of times and i get upset a lot I absolutely cannot deal with car washes that go horribly wrong this makes me angry in general every car wash i go to ends up in disaster itself they need to replace the whole entire thing completely this is why I have doubts about they should definitely do a remodel on this entire car wash and replace every machine in there I'm sorry but i wouldn't have someone pay me to damage my vehicle like that I'd lose my temper already I absolutely do not like gas station car washes at all they are not my thing anymore these types of car washes are really bad in general I would never take my vehicle inside a car wash like this at all these machines needs to ne replaced immediately

the worst part was that they wernt even aware of the problem until i showed them! They ended up shutting it down right afterwards but about a week later it was open again! Now i dont know if it got fixed or not but Im not risking it again until my friend who knows someone who works at this station tells me its fixed

Not necessarily. Any car wash I've been to says due to the variety of the size of vehicles, the car wash is not responsible for damages.

I agree that the machines operational issues are unacceptable. At the same time, you had trouble starting your vehicle the first time, when you wanted to pull out. Then, you pull in for the 2nd wash and turn off your vehicle again?! Clearly the car wash is not functioning properly but neither is the vehicle drivers brain.
While I do agree that what happened with the wash itself was in inexcusable, the part of me turning off the engine was more of just pure habit as I did it with all washes before this incident. Obviously I don't do it now as part of a precaution but you don't have to be such a dick about it.

go cry about it! At least all the damage got repaired for FREE plus it was to show the owners the issue with the machine so i dont understand why your getting all butthurt over it as while it was annoying, i had to pay zero money for the repairs. So it all worked out in the end didnt it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If it is malfunctioning, why go through a malfunctioning car wash a second time and expect it to be better the second time? I would assume it is not working correctly and go somewhere else. Then who turns their car completely off in a car wash? I realize this new generation is doomed. Sure the car wash place is at 100% fault but if he had an ounce of common sense he would have just left. He stayed thinking oh it might have some Iron Man nanotechnology in it that can repair it after each use. We will have to be patient and let natural selection take its course.
