Track: Joan Of Arc (Live), Artist: OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark), Album: Architecture And Morality Tour - Live At The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane - 1981
They are bloody good! Powerful vocals from Andy McCluskey and beautiful synths from Paul Humphries! They made so many songs that brought tears to the eyes!
From the moment he already goes one octave up in the first verse, you know he’s going into full Andy mode and there’s no limit from there, I’ll always ADORE this performance !
McCluskey certainly gives a great performance here. He doesn't even mind if his voice slips a couple of times. This is an extraordinary live clip anno 1981.
this song was my first taste of OMD , it was on an early 80's compilation - wish i could remember the name of the album , but i remember i was mesmerized with this song
@@forestfire1232 Crikey cant remember Was UEA though in Norwich ..And they looked very nervous as close to the crowd ..it was either my first or second concert the other being Bauhaus .. I do remember them going off to Enola Gay and before coming back on they left the drum machine to it running which went in and on ...that famous beat ..All memory allows I'm afraid..
Give them to me!!! Lol I had a rear 7" single of Electricty and the album "Street To Street: A Liverpool Album" On it is Julia's Song by The ID......before they became OMD 👌
Does anyone ever got the second and number twelve songs from this 1981 concert? It is Mysteriality and She's Leaving ..anybody's planning to put them online?

That goofy dancing was his tradmark, great to see him enjoying himself while performing.
Powerful performance, powerful line "She shouldn't oughta promise cuz it's just pretend."
I love that goofy dancing. They sound awesome live. This song is one of their best...
Omd just a different class ❤❤❤❤
Talk about feeling the music - Andy! ... Awesome and inspiring!
the singer is totally in trance ....love it.
Joan of Arc; greatest Saint in Heaven!!; I saw OMD play this song in the mid 1980s; such nostalgia! :)
If anyone wants lessons on how to dance with a bass guitar while playing...watch this video! Tremendous!
Im 46 and listening to this for the first time in my life

My early twenties days loved this song till today 2023

Andy McCluskey-what a singer! He sounds inspired, in rapture. The band are in a special groove too.
Brilliant impassioned live performance that tops the original recording. Wish I'd been there.
Wow 👏

Saw them live back around 82, during their USA tour, it was magical...!
This for me was their best... greater than the sum of its parts as it were.
Simply superb.
You are ABSOLUTELY right!!!!
What a band! Their influence on current music is enormous.

as a smiths and moz/marr fan i sympathise with their point about multi-syllable (sp!?) band names etc but my god you cant deny this is a classic

Gran canción, me encanta la melodia ,alguien sabría traducirla? Gracias
I was at the gig. I wanted to get backsnage so I heard Andy like rabbits so I took rabbit and the green bidet. They wouldn't let me backsnage.

Why didn't you just go backsTage?
Enola Gay was magical at this live concert 🎵 ❤

This is a best Version of compensation.
When all say that he is gay, he tried to be a rock and roller.
Most Britains are gay, I guess. So don't worry. :)
@@bertthebird2341 are you sure he’s gay

Andy:"This is for the religiously-minded amongst us".
Man: "No way"!
Andy: "Or not..."
And what is that guy saying after that??
Has he got his bass strung upside down?
And don't forget ERIC.....if you know, you know! 😎
Do not mess with Enola Gay......
Brilliant. But I doubt very much if that guitar is plugged in. How could he play it properly dancing like that.
It is plugged in trust me. It’s OMD style. He’s playing root notes.
Should have known better than to give her away
Without Me ....
The song is great. I hate the added speed of this version. It makes the performance sound like a parody of the song.
Arska777999 I agree but it's something different. The lead singer is definitely crazy (in a good way LOL).
He lost it a bit...
Well it is a very emotional song
