Track: Enola Gay (Live), Artist: OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark), Album: Architecture And Morality Tour - Live At The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane - 1981
I remember seeing him back in Montreal 30 years ago. 2 hours non-stop. This guy had an incredible amount of energy and still going on 30 years later. Amazing
I have to confess that I've been found guilty of very similar dance moves back in the day. Hell, even today I'll sometimes relapse when I'm listening to the old songs again. There's no escaping the muscle memory...
Two nights back sitting in the Royal Albert Hall watching this live 40yrs on.. We are blessed to have been living through such great music in the 80s..
Enola Gay' married Andy McClusky’s brilliantly quizzical vocal and placed OMD’s unstoppable mesh of synths and programmed beats front and centre. Impeccable production - you can join me in the nerdy dance if you want.
Ohhhh my god Omd is one of my favorite bands! I wasnt even born in that year, but i would have loved to be dancing with the bunch of people on the balcony 🤗
Snap had to revisit this 6th Aug.. This is best live version. I was 15 when I was at this gig . Written 35 yrs after Hiroshima. Now 43 yrs after the song Times passing 😳 let's hope the world learnt from it Such a fantastic meaningful song. UK music in 80s punched so far above it weight.
He shakes so much that I couldn't see if he plays guitar or bass. Really very exciting pace. The interesting thing is that I went to know this song in 1986, not imjagina that was so old, very cool!

I had just completed 10 years in the USAF when this video was filmed. Only one of those was as a B52G aircrew member. Car accident grounded my ass for good.
Nobody like Andy McCluskey in the bass, theonly bass player dancer!! , he invites to the crowd to dance.. Priceless see the people dance.. This song and electricity are the best songscto put the audience soul free
this is the very first song I heard from O.M.D. & it was in my modern studies class @ school(cranhill secondary (Glasgow, Scotland in the 1980's the (liked them ever since
I SAW THEM IN 1981 AT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND RITCHIE AUDITORIUM ON THIS TOUR!! THEY WERE FANTASTIC HAD A REEL REEL TAPE MACHINE WITH THEM ON STAGE, I THINK IT WAS A REVOX 101/2 INCH REEL DECK!!
@@forestfire1232 Winston 2.0.? That's what is so cool about OMD fans. We get geeky about a reel to reel and love it. was at this gig. Always loved this at the much faster tempo and the bass just cracking.
@@arshk3612 Im actually building a replica of Andy’s bass. It was originally a 1973 jazz bass in a sunburst finish. He then sanded it off and gave it a coat of battleship grey and orange on the pick guard. This design was used through most of 1980. By September the pick guard was still orange but by December it had gone to black. Sometime in 1981 he changed it to a tortoiseshell pick guard which remained that way until 1983. In 1984 he spray painted his jazz bass blue and red as you can see in the Tesla girls video. It stayed that way until at least May 1985. After that Im not sure because there aren’t many videos or pictures of him with it and by veronicas rock night festival in October of that year he was using an aria deluxe bass. He continued to use this presumably until the 90s when he started touring again. When OMD started again he was back to using his original jazz bass with a grey body and black pick guard like it had been in late 1980. This lasted until 2017 when he got a new jazz bass, the American ultra which he has sprayed black and given it a tortoiseshell pick guard. He recently gave it to the British music experience exhibition who restored it to its original form in grey and orange like in 1980.
All time best dancing bass player.
yupp, freaking epic
What energy

"dancing"
@@Bob38594 Yes, dancing. It's a word which means 'rhythmic movement of the body'.

Pocos imaginan la tristeza, dolor y tragedia que hay detrás de esta gran composición musical que es un temazo que nunca pasará de moda.
