(HD) Regional Jet Takeover - HD Airplanes Spotting O'Hare International Airport
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- The heavy aircraft, mainliners and regional jets all fought over the camera for filming time.... The RJs finally succeeded in taking over another video of mine! :D It was going to be a long video featuring only heavy airliners and cargo aircraft but wouldn't you know it, they finally got together and convinced me it was time to include some more of them than usual. Hooray for the little guys!
This video does include a lot of heavy aircraft clips but the lawn darts become more and more common as the video continues. Chicago O'Hare International Airport includes a healthy mix of domestic, regional jet and international traffic, I often feature the other bigger planes since they are my favorite.
I will include the regional jets more in future videos if a lot of people are interested in seeing them. Enjoy!
This video was filmed on a few different days thus accounting for the weather differences. Most of the video is from early August 2014. I don't have the time, unfortunately, to write out a long description but you are welcome to enter the aircraft registrations you see here in FlightAware or Google for info.

I remember when those American Eagle ERJ-145s used to fly YOW-ORD...gone are the days. Love the British Airways 744!
+AirbusObserverA380 Thanks for the memories.... ;) LOVE that Speedbird as well.
Who cares of the RJs took over this video, the light makes any aircraft look AWESOME!! And that sunset with the Atlas 747 blew me away, it was too cool!!
gracias, BG!! It's all worth it but those sights are what make it all extra special from time to time.
its so amazing how u get access to see the airplanes.Im a pilot but yet there is a big no no when comes for me on the ground
P.S: love the Boeing 777 flew for 13 years and still enjoy flying it
It's cool to see those little guys coming into this huge airport. Liked!!
I love the old livery American Connection. There was always something their planes. Thanks for posting!
Great to see all these smaller guys at ORD, and off course all those heavies mixed in as well. Nice work as always :-)
Thanks, Mr. HD!
Stunning clips :) Love the lighting, and amazing filming, as in every one of your videos!
!XNHT, DUDEspotter!
beautiful job as always jay. O'Hare always holds a special place in my heart as I studied there also and one of my first airports I spotted at. thank you jay for your hard work
Thank you Jay for this. What a great find before I go to work. Right into my AVIATION playlist. Have a great week. ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Will do, Mr. Mega F.Z.!! Thanks 4 watching!
Thanks a lot Jay . I can't say that i'm sad that i bought the chicago o'hare texture for my flight simulator. Its so much Fun to see your filmed Traffic in my game :D
WOW! that's awesome for sure. thanx 4 watching, bro.
Loved those little birds, very nice captures.
Thanks for watching! glad u enjoyed.
*****
Good thing there are plenty of them at ORD. I will certainly try. I still have much study to do before the end of June when I will likely return again to make videos on a regular basis. Thanks for watching, my friend, and for your patience.
Gotta love the lawn darts! My personal favorite regional jet is the ERJ 145! Gonna be flying on an E135 soon, should be interesting. Great catches!
COOL! hope you enjoy your trip.
Jay's O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD Thanks! Happy spotting!
I really liked this video, can't believe it was all shot without a tripod as it's really steady. Good job!
Thanks, mate! and yes... NO tripod.
Kids on the playground: "woah the ERJ-145 is HUGE!!!"
777-300ER: "Am I a joke to you?"
Thanks 4 watch!ng
@@OHAREAVIATION you're welcome!
That was one epic compilation, Jay!! Sweeeet shots, veery enjoyable!
THNX 2 U 2, mylooooooos! great stuff including the birdstrike vid and the Air China Cargo 777F!
That is a spectacular sunrise. Very nice job, Jay!
WOW!!! the 10:14 mark. What a picture! Amazing capture. Well done. I could watch these videos for hours.
+jwlwhwew love that kind of shot.... it's more right place, right time than anything else... glad to hear! thanks for watching.
Always posting fantastic, amazing video's. Big thanks for your hard work and for sharing!!!
THNX, 1-2-3! glad i can say the same about you as well.
As always, excellent!
Looking at the planes I once again notice some window shades pulled down. I never understand people who have to have a window seat only then to close the shade.
hear, hear. annoys me too.
Grrrrrreat...! Good luck with your studies, Jay...what are you studying...? Nice shots of the sun (set..?) around 10.30...good filter. Why do CRJ's always remind me of missiles....? ;-)
Thannnnks, man! Getting a degree in business. :)
The camera I use comes with a built-in filter and yes, makes for great sunrise/sunset shots.
WOW! 10:17! Absolutely stunning sun rise!
I knew I just had to film it for you :)
4:54 man i miss seeing those *American Eagle* ERJs in the *old livery!*
Are there still any aircraft with that livery *tho!?*
UmbreonErick i still see them occasionally in my travels.... yes, i miss the 🦅 eagle
ik i’m late but yes! that flight i’m pretty sure is from my hometown airport in sioux city and that plane flies out of here daily!
Oscar for best videography (steady hands) :)
Enjoyed the great video. Keep them coming!
Thanks very much!! First I want to thank my fans...
beautiful sunset
nice sunset! love the little Rj's
thank, man! will have to do a few more videos like this.
The light in the video is so great! Liked as always! :)
Great Compilation mate! Nice smooth filming! Its been a while :)
Thanks! great avatar, btw.
wow this is a really nice view!
you are always there to enjoy my vids, Mr. Y! I can't thank you enough.
Nice to see all those little regional jets ! LIKED
YEAH!!! GO RJs!!!
Jay's O'Hare Aviation & HD Plane Spotting :)
Same. I am one for the RJs.
A like for the regional jets! Love 'em, especially them Embraers! Really nice sunset too! Outstanding video on the whole! :D
THnX, 010! this is a small sample of the types we get so I'll try to film even more sometime soon.
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting Cool, thanks :-)
Bittersweet to see the Chautauqua jet painted as American Connection. 13 years was a decent run.
yes.... I myself miss a lot of the older regional jets. The Air Wisconsin BAE-146s were my favorites.
Awesome footage! That apocalypse sunset was a nice added touch. Thanks again Jay.
As a kid making paper airplanes I always added the winglets.Who would of thought, I could've been a multi kazillionaire.lol crying😅
XD THNX, man!
You always manage to get the most amazing shots! :)
thanks, my friend! I hope this is only the beginning.
knowing you, I think it will be;)
It seems like eagle (envoy) doesn't deploy their thrust reversers when landing their e145s (footage at 22:00). Every airline flies a little different I guess, but this makes me wonder why.
Joeschmoe Well, use of thrust reversers is not mandatory (at least its not for most airlines) and is considered a bonus to the brakes. The brakes aided by the spoilers do a majority of the stopping action in most cases. Thrust reversers are excellent at helping to stop aircraft on wet or snowy runways though when braking action may be less than ideal. Having, of course, seen thousands upon thousands of landings (too bad I can't film them all due to limited camera battery) I can say that it all really varies. I've seen regional jets go speeding through turn-offs that A330s have made easily and vice-versa. A good deal of it is due to ATC and how fast they need the previous airplane off the runway due to close following traffic. It is pretty cool how loud some of those little guys are though. Thanks for watching!
Great video jay cant wait to be up there in a few weeks have a great week Jay :)
looking forward to it myself, Tyler!
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting Yeah me to :)
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting you soon reach 10k lol might take months to get to me, awesome video as always man :) !!!!!!!
skbenergy
lol! I don't think so, Mr. SKB. Lately I've had to stop commenting on videos simply because I am now doing much more study to finish up my degree and then get my airline dispatcher rating (hopefully). It may take several months but I will soon be back in even more full force than I ever have been. For now, I simply watch the latest stuff in my inbox and "like".
Those little planes are pretty interesting too.....once in a while we go past Ohare airport and I always want to pull out my iPhone and video tape a plane flying over us...and I usually catch one flying over us taking off or landing...its pretty fascinating to see. And by the way I posted a second music video I made last night and I know you keep an eye on my videos but I wanted to let you know write away because it has plane clips in it again.
Cool! thanks for letting me know. I watch when I can.
Good work my friend, very entertaining plane spotting video
Glad to see a lot of Embraer planes flying in the USA! I'm brazillian and I live in the city where these planes are built, and frequently I see them flying before they were delivered to their operators.
Renan Camargo Embraer has wonderful airplanes and I know Americans particularly like them. Thanks 4 watching!
Sure, I fly in Embraer planes all the time. They seem just right for regional flights from ORD to BNA, CLT, TYS and other fun places. Maybe you can post a video of a new one coming out of the factory all shiny and new!
Awesome video as usual Jay!HUGE LIKE!:)
thank you much, Nikola! greetings from C H I C A G O !
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting My pleasure Jay!Greetings from B E L G R A D E!!:)
6:50 Got the ERJ 175! Awesome video dude

Nice video Jay, hope to see more in the future.
Thanks, K to the 4th power!
hahaha, I like that nickname
Great video
10:48 beatiful picture
+schoppekloppen Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Keep up the great work! :D
THNX, Andrej! Hello from C H I C A G O ! !
When I said I always want to catch one flying over us when passing Ohare I mean when I am a passenger in the car I grab my iPhone and half the time I am able to catch a plane flying past us. Sometimes I miss it or catch it at the last minute because its harder to catch in a car:)
Skill-shot!
One time not long ago I think the end of the summer we were going past Ohare and I saw a plane taking off ready to go over us and it was banking a little too looking pretty cool and I was grabbing my iPhone trying to catch it and missed it. I was like oh shoot. Then I remember one recently where I caught it at the last minute and a sign got in the picture too so it looks cool seeing the plane and a sign.
great Video Jay! like!
Thanksamuchaloticus, Markus!
Great video mate!
Rock ON, BCA! Thanks a bunch, mate!
What spot was this filmed at
28R landings? What time of the day was this? lol
hello there, Rui! yes, often times in the early morning they will use only 10L or 28R. DHL lands on 28R sometimes as well.
Excellent
Thnx!
beautiful video!!! Nice job!!
THNX, YV!!
Where do you spot those departures off of 22L?
Is AmericanConnection the same thing as American Eagle?
+Owen Koenig Serves basically the same purpose but flown by a different airline. It is no longer in use as of last year. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmericanConnection
Hey jay , what setup do you run and would you reccomend the JVC PX 100 for planespotting? What are some cameras or camcorders for spooting?
wow. didn't realize i never answered your question here. sorry about that!
I do not know much about cameras but I do like the Sony Hx200v and 400v. They are probably the two best DSLR(?) cameras out there. I only use YT editor for my videos though.
I guess the united express has the smoothest landing
Thnx for the vote!
10:15> is really neat :-D
THanX, Mr. RVN!!
love the 777's!
Fayke Naime ah yes! so do I. I love Chicago O'hare so much and am very lucky to call the place home. I've called it "home" for close to 20 years now.
:)
Jay, this is the area where it is off limits right?
Selim Eylül Yes.
Nice i like probs goin to eau Claire my town
...want to see an RJ "love fest", go north to MKE as that is the majority of the ops there these days. They make a 737 look like a "jumbo jet". I'll take an old North Central Convair any day, at least I had more legroom and could stand up in it.
ah yes, the good ol' days... wish I could've experienced those but I have flown on a Ford Tri-Motor and when it comes to legroom and standing up in an airplane the regional jets are more comfortable so at least we have advanced a little bit...
...flown on one myself at an airshow and yes very spartan in interior comforts (though I was still young and not quite as tall or wracked with arthritis as I am today). However remember. back then passengers transferred to trains for the overnight portion of a long distance trip. Also travelling by aeroplane in those days was still seen as a "novelty" (usually only for the rich).
The DC series of airliners was the first to really change that particularly with the Douglas sleepers (which had berths like a train) offering unheard of comfort compared to the first generation airliners. One could stand straight up when walking down the aisle.
Of course I also remember in the 1950s/60s that a Plymouth Valiant or Chevy Nova was considered a "compact" economy car compared to the land yachts that used to cruise our highways. Don't think I could ever handle a long cross country trip in a Smart Car or Toyota Yaris (which is sort of how I view RJs).
Crikey, I still remember when the 737 used to be referred to as the "Baby Boeing" and introduced as a short range jetliner designed to bring jet service to smaller markets. Now it is deployed on transcontinental flights by all the majors as well as even flights between the mainland and Hawai'i (Alaska).
Loved 757s as they somewhat reminded me of the old 707, albeit with two instead of four engines.
Where do you spot planes from? Can i please know?
Thanks
Try spotting on Scott St. near Wally Park Airport Parking Chicago... look for it on Google Maps. It's under the approach for 28R 28C...
What's up with that 28R arrival? When's the last time that happened?
yep! a rare one nowadays.... happens every now and then if there is a spacing issue or unusual circumstance but O'Hare's old runway 27L (now 28R) used to be the major landing runway at O'Hare..... reminds me of the old days.
Jay's O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD yeah. Well interesting! Still here waiting for them to open south cargo back up tho ;)
The quarter cargo is a 737 800 right?
The Qatar Cargo is a 777 Freighter. Very similar to the 777-200LR.
Is there any way to get to this spot?
+GrifGodify With pemission. A great deal of this video was shot on private property with permission from the owner.
What runway is that?
Most operations are on Runway 28C with a few takeoffs filmed off of 22L. Thnx 4 watching!
I'm only 12 I wanna be a pilot and my home airport is Lafayette regional Airport and it's only Regional Jets and a Boeing 717 every night and early in morning I love them and I wanna fly them
Good luck!! :) thanks for watching.
Make sure you study the right subjects in school. If you excel in Math, Science and Geography, it will be easier for you to be accepted into a Pilot training program.
Liked! :)
Bring back the tulip
I love that paint job. Thanks 4 watch!ng
10.22 that sunset
oops....sunrise
sungwon hong
thanks for watching :)
In my opinion Chicago O'Hare is a terrible airport. I flew there a couple months ago and it was a nightmare. The infrastructure was old for the United terminal!
you make money off this stuff? Lucky you!
it's not as much as you think it is :D but yes, I do. thanks for watching!
if you dont mind me asking how much? Im sort of interested in starting some kind of channel as a source of money.
Munching Munchebles
if you're in it for the money, you'll be wasting your time compared to other more profitable and smart ways to invest. I monetize it simply because I don't exactly live close to O'Hare Airport and it helps me break even on the gas money for the month.
I film airplanes because I enjoy them.
Ok. Thanks for the info mate, much apreciated.
Some of these ain't regionals, siiiir.
you obviously did not read the title (or at least you didn't think about what it means), and you also didn't read the description.
Jay's HD Aviation & Plane Spotting Yeah I'm lazy :p. You could have just made the title more general to include wide-bodies as well, knowing that they also hogged the camera.
WinginWolf
...or you could just watch a lot of my other videos and you'd know that wide-bodies is mostly what I film. :)
My Horne airport
brazilian planes , by Embraer!
?
The Qatar cargo, is that A300?, and what are they bringing to Chicago, oil? there's nothing else of interest to the rest of the world community in Qatar!
lol! it's actually a B-777-200LR Freighter variant. They fly from Europe to ORD and bring oil sometimes ;) but there's a LOT of other things too. They operate similar to how USPS or FedEx operates. People pay them to fly stuff. Kinda like Lufthansa Cargo.
Go rat jets!
Damn, 10:20
Mmm-mm. Delicious.
O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD, You caught it just as the exterior lights were turned on in the building behind the Atlas. Great video segment.
David Hoffman
Thnx! Those moments are worth all the time and effort. Glad you enjoyed.
