- Early winterflights with my Phoenix Model Mustang P-51 and NGH GF 38 FS fourstroke gas engine. Nice combo flown with 18x8 propeller turning approx. 7100 RPM
This is really one of the most beautiful videos on UA-cam. A beautiful plane with a fantastic engine that produces a great sound and flew very professionally in a very nice setting. Really super! This makes me happy as a model builder to see a real aircraft again and not those Styrofoam models with an electric motor and a battery block on board. So modellers still exist at heart.
Flying in winter makes for some cold hands!! Brrr. Nice Flying!!!
Excellent Flying! Good looking bird, who cares if its Sport Scale, it looks fine and flies great!
It would be very interesting to see how the NGH38 has stood up to the test of time
Thanks, the plane flies beatiful and is quite easy to land and handle. I did not weight the plane before I sold it but I guess around 10 kg. The engine is not a powerhouse in this plane but I really enjoed the combo. A friend has this NGH in a Black Hawk Storch and it is plenty of power
Sounds lovely, you have really sold me on that engine.
great! good effort flying this in the cold winter ;-) the engine seemingly doesnt mind. nice job flying and landing especially
Nice pilot, plane and very nice landing
muy bueno , que dificil se hace verlo en la nieve . felicitaciones!!!
Good flying, very good flying.
Seems great,have fun.P51 also built fine,very stabil.
Beautiful aircraft!
simple the best, model and engine... tanks
I think the NGH will haul the plane nice. Not extremely overpowered but nice scale power. Unfortunately the cylinder is quite high and you have to cut a large hole in the cowling...
Thanks a lot!
It is just a homemade silversoldered exhaust made of copper tubes. Straight out...Sounds good ;-)
super nice, amazing
I did use the recommended CG and it works great for me
Greetings to nice Norway! Really nice Mustang and flying, especially landings on small snow field... Amazing!!
I have a "worm in my head" about this motor and any Storch around :) Can you tell as, basic parameters about your Mustang? Especially weight! Thanks!
Vakker, ser ut som en veldig glatt flyr flyet.
This is a semi/sport scale aircraft. I guess that's why it is not that like the fullsize
En Moki 50 i den vil bli helt perfekt. hvis du skal ha Mokien opp ned så bytt om på trykkslangene, da går den mye bedre....
I would if using ( ESM Mig3 (Wing span 2030mm 8~9kg) ) without problems?
Because your plane, do not show a difference.
Muy buen aterrizaje .
OK,
thank you very much.
Very nice.
Hi, I have not set mine yet, I was thinking of a saito
fg-40, what do you think?
Do you know how well the NGH has held up?
Is it still putting out lots of reliable power?
Kan denne motoren fungere i ein 50cc yak 55 for ein som ikke flyr desperat 3d ???
Hi, how are you? I want to ask you a question. Would you recommend this engine for this model? Is it good?
Quite long time since I did sell the machine. NGH engines are quite reliable but I think it's the minimum of power in this model but as you can see in the movie it is enough flying it well. NGH have some level of vibration and I think there is other large four-stroke engines that are better but double the price
Hi, how did you mount nose cone? I have the same engine and there is no hole in the shaft, to screw the cone
+Klub Modelarstwa Sportowego Hi, I did use a extra nut on the end of the prop axle. One side fits the axle and the other was 4 or 5 mm which did fit the screw from the spinner. Long time ago so not sure where I did find it 😑
Thx for the tip!
Sounds great. I like a four stroke in a warbird much more than a two stroke. Any issues at all with this engine? How much louder was the stock muffler?
Long time since I did sell this plane. I think the engine is still working good. This plane is very light and it work with a little limited power but warbird in 1,8-2,0m should work good. These engines work quite well but they do vibrate a bit
What was the vertical climb like with this looks like it runs out of power quickly but you said it was light weight. What engine would you recommend to get more speed and climb rate.
blastman8888 +blastman8888 Seems like most warbird pilots like way off overpowered planes. I do like a little extra but don't need insane. These planes are warbirds and going to be flown in a scale manner. Fg 38 is lower limit but any larger engine will haul this bird nice around. If you can handle the sound, OS GT 60 is good. If you like good sound I think Torqpro 70 four stroke is best
affas No doubt it's not easy to get a RC aircraft to scale down but I don't like seeing a P-51 which can't even zoom climb which any airshow I ever went too a full size P-51 will zoom climb several 1000 feet. Right now I'm knee deep in a F-15 eagle EDF and a 1/4 scale Laser 200 but my next one will be this P-51 just need to find the right engine.
Excelente
Vakkert!
I guess you dont live in the US? They do not sell this plane here...
its a good engine? need do some modification?
Marcos Farley Gomes No mods done.
