- after trying different types of ways this was the easiest I found Shout-out to Jose at Carmax in Pasadena for the tip on using Pipe wrench and Hammer 🤣
Thank you. This morning was day three trying to figure out how to secure the clutch from rotating in the same direction. I found your UA-cam just before rolling out of bed. My husband was very grateful.
YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER. IM IN THE SAME BOAT. Bless you sir
Buy a air hammer from Walmart and clutch removal tool if you don't have these tools is just makes jobs extremely frustrating $75.00 dollars online before you start this job, much cheaper don't need expensive tools it's 1 nut, you can damage the fan clutch nut, cost you a fan clutch take it out of alignment. Good luck. Some mechanic damage the nut on my 5.7l vortec and had to file down the scars looks back to normal. I re-did the job with the right ✅ tools it was so easy no damage to any parts of my engine. I am a GM technician 1 thing disconnect the battery 🔋
This guy gets ALL the cookies. Worked perfectly
Thanks for the info Bro. With a litttle patience, it Works
Yessir nice.i used vise grips on passenger side help up against water pump bolts and pipe wrench
Very helpful it works thank you
.
Thank you for the info because I have been banging my head trying to figure out how to tighten the big nut on the clutch fan
Bro. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you so much for this
Try jamming a wooden stick about 1" wide and 1/4" thick between the water pump pulley and the serpentine belt. As you start turning the large nut on the water pump shaft the stick will wedge tighter and tighter between the pulley and the belt, and the pulley will stop turning. At that point you can easily turn the nut and remove the fan assembly. When you replace the fan assembly and turn the nut in the opposite (clockwise) direction the wedged piece of wood will remove itself.
Did you use the same method when tightening the clutch fan ?
wow put a strap hook in the hole of the pulley attach other side to anywhere it would be secure.
Use a small pipe wrench to hold, loosen nut with a larger pipe wrench, it works
Thanks bro!
Nice tip
The holes in the pulley are for the right tool for the job done right, I think?
Try a strap wrench ...place it around clutch....to keep it from spinning and then remove nut
Do these trucks run hot without a fan clutch? If I did a permanent delete on mine?
Chain wrench and pipe wrench
Is it reverse threaded??
I didn't see u do it 😴🤔
Hold the fan blades
🤣
Nah just kidding i put bungee hook on the hole
