I don't think they actually watched the cartoon. They're just pretending to be familiar with it for the audience. They even said they were waiting to see if the rest of Dr Claw looked the same as in the cartoon but we didn't actually get to see the rest of him in that.
@@xandervampire195 Actually theres a running joke that most of the time when they play movie and tv tie ins they haven't seen it before. I’m so confused on how UA-cam works. I LOVE gaming channels like these where games are discussed. Why on earth is the first time I’ve heard of you all? I thought for sure UA-cam would look at my subscriptions and history and throw you all at me like no one’s business.
To be honest... When you think about it, the intro kind of showed us one of the more smarter plans Dr Claw had, regarding stopping Gadget in his tracks, whilst trying to take over the world, on paper. I mean, you kidnap Brain and Penny (who were the more competant of the trio, ultimately) from the get-go, you set off what essentially was like some EMP explosive that disables Gadget's own gadgets... Probably would've been an interesting idea for a special, or a movie of sorts, that probably could've lead to Gadget actually finally wisening up a little, after essentially being an absolute oaf that can't even tell that there's a trap or something fishy's going on, when the situation arises, now he has to rely on his own wits (or lack thereof) to solve things.
1:58 How'd they manage to name their company Silmarils? Surely the Tolkien estate holds right to that word. They won't even let other properties use the word "Ent", they have say "treant".
I read a theory some time ago about how the Claw dude was actually the original Insector Gadget who had that car crash and the Inspector Gadget who's the protagonist is actually a 100% machine double. So Claw's main motivation is to take down the fake because it stole his identiy. Whacky internet theory of course, nothing else.
I had always assumed that the reason we never saw Claw was because he wasnt a real person. Like, he was just a robotic torso in the chair so he could talk to his henchman because he was secretly the cat you always see. Also his name is Claw which automatically draws my attention back to his cat
You probably read that on the site of Brian Lemay, who did some of the character designs. Of course, he also admitted that this idea doesn't stand up to much scrutiny.
God. This is like at the very very tail end of the era when this show was still in Re-runs. A lot of DiC shows found their way on Nickelodeon and then periodically on Warner Brothers stations like KidsWB or early mornings on Cartoon Network. But after 2003, I don't think anyone was still showing Inspector Gadget. They still had some new products here and there, randomly, but it always felt like them trying to squeeze more out of a dead IP.
"I'm going to need to see all of Dr. Claw because I seem to remember quite enjoying the design of Dr. Claw." If we're talking the original show, you remember incorrectly. As the Wiki notes: "Throughout the entire series, Claw is an unseen character, only just his arms and gloved hands are visible, leaving the viewer to guess as to his face and body"
The captain popping out of things, giving Gadget the self destructing note and Gadget throwing it back and blowing up the captain is actually from the show. Brain is the real hero in the show.
Major negative for this game is not including voice talents of Don Adams, Cree Summer and Frank Welker to voice their iconic roles of the Inspector Gadget cartoon for this game.
Hey, sorry to hear that. But the quality of their videos has only improved. Again, sorry. I've only been subscribed to these guys for a few months, so I don't understand as much. But these guys are still funny either way.
I may be blurry on the details, but when it comes to Dr. Claw... I think they only showed his claw in the cartoons, nothing else... so when they released the action figures, their advertisement campaign was centered around FINALLY getting to see Dr. Claw... and I think he was hidden in the packaging, so you had to purchase the toy to see him, since this was before social media!
Oh dear... I think I played this once at a friends house. I completely forgot it was a thing until this popped up. Don't think I made it past the first level, and I had a high tolerance for poor quality games as a child.
DiC does not own the rights to the theme. That belongs, instead, to Haim Saban and Shuki Levy--yes, they of Power Rangers, who did the music for DiC's shows for very cheap in exchange for owning all rights to the music. This is why every iteration of the character, save for the two movies, use themes which are inspired by but are *not* _the_ theme tune. (Even the Netflix version, which comes way close, uses a theme which owes more to _Hall of the Mountain King._ )
As someone who watched the cartoon religiously as a kid I can't believe how bad the sound alike voice cast is in this. No wonder they only released it in a part of the world that was unfamiliar with the show.
the logo for DIC (pronounced Deek) literally had a couple kids shouting the name DIC! and of course my brother and friends and i would all shout DICK along with them.
I've never played this PS2 game before and I'm sure its graphics look cheesy. It's a shame it never came out in North America such as the USA 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦. It only came out in Europe including the UK 🇬🇧 and my home country Ireland 🇮🇪, Australia 🇦🇺 and New Zealand 🇳🇿. That Gadget's face looks very funny whenever he falls to death and he just cracks me up 🤣🤣🤣! He should have become an internet meme. Anyway I used to watch Inspector Gadget, a popular American-Canadian-French cartoon from the 1980s when I was a kid. It's one of my favourite cartoons of all time.
19:35 Considering Hawaii was illegally occupied after a coup by American residents of the island, I think you can argue it should be a separate country.
If I remember right the 2nd movie was just a cheapie direct to DVD movie and thats why they had different actors but it was a direct sequel to the first and they tried to act similar to the first film to connect the two
I actually had this game as a kid no joke, I always gave up on the Liberty Boss though because i couldn’t figure it out (I was about 6), I never actually got any further 😂 and just replayed the start over and over again, my sister got to a boss fight on a rooftop though that I roughly remember Edit, just seen that Ben has basically done the same thing I did in my childhood
Honestly, the game did a fine job of mirroring the cartoons animation. You give it crap for the cat and henchman, but they look quite correct. Not bad...
