"Cuz Curtis Lowe was the finest picker, to ever play the blues" I love that I can hear every word as you play! Your arrangements are off the charts! Thank you!
It’s hot. It’s humid. Sweat rolling down my face. Sitting in the shade drinking some good ole sweet tea and listening to this watching the clouds drift over an open field. Thanks brother.
I'm a huge Skynyrd fan. I've seen the ORIGINAL band three times before the tragedy. This tune is a true classic in every way and Justin shows what a masterpiece it is.
His teaching is awesome, go to his store and learn how to do it right the first time. Better yet join the Patreon and watch him work dings like this out in front you. It is truly amazing.
I’ve got a shovel guitar and I’m struggling, too. Any tips, friends? I joined the JJ ARMY as a Patreon, as well. I’ve been mesmerized by ‘The Wizard’ since 2016 and ‘Crankin It Up’. 😵💫
@@BlondieG63 during his teaching you will notice he constantly uses one word, practice! Wow, just felt Ronnie's spirit crooning the words right along with this soulfully swampy bit of brilliance... you're too good at sending happy chills and goosebumps up 'n down my spine, Justin!
It’s so refreshing to see all these videos done (masterfully) in 1 take. Was just wondering to a buddy if anyone can actually play full songs anymore , lol.
Yeah, The Ballad Of Curtis Loew is one of the best song ever made, not only one of the best Skinner songs. It's sad that nowdays, especially the young (like me) see Lynyrd Skynyrd as "ahah swet home albania incest ahah to foonny", 'cause I don't really like post incident LS, they were all hyper talented musicians, but at the time they already had lost Ed King, one of the best guitarist players of all time, due to Ronnie problem with alcohol while on tour, and even if as I said they were all super talented musicians, Ronnie was the force that drove them, Ronnie was a real leader and without him it's not the same, I don't really like the "new" Lynyrd Skynyrd, original were just different and unique, they could have got as big as the Stones probably, it wasn't just amazing southern rock, it was amazing rock, and not only that. Anyway as I was saying, it's sad that young people now see Lynyrd Skynyrd as a meme and yeah I've made some jokes too in my life, but God I'd love if young people who are into rock will give a serious listen to og Lynyrd Skynyrd, they're just too good not to listen at least to their debut album at least once in your life, living a life without having listened to Gimme Three Steps means you have wasted your life lol.
Curtis may have been the finest picker to ever play the blues... until this cat came along!! I love how you sing with your left hand Justin. Spot on cover👍🏻👍🏻

He has that affect on people to make them believe in themselves and do things that they normally wouldn’t do I agree so I hope your slight work ends up like Justins and I would like to hear it keep it mate 🎸🔥
@@billythomas1708 yes that's true. He's one of those who mastered their stuff, without that stuff seeming unreachable, very rare. Still I want to keep the video to always remember how bad it was when I started out, because I am sure that I can improve.
Das liegt aber auch daran, das in D diese Musik gar nicht gefragt ist und es kaum Interesse dafür gibt. Ich kenn nicht einen einzigen Gitarristen hier, der solche "Swamp-Blues" Sachen spielt, leider.
I love getting to hear songs played out of this mystery resonator. Always such a treat and such a pretty guitar to look at while you make it sing. Thanks again. 😊
Ooh such passionate and heartfelt playing that inspires me as a guitarist since you play so melodically and make those notes sing from your skilled touch.

Hi Justin, I think it would be wonderful if you could ever meet and play with Kenny Brown from Mississippi. One of the last from the previous generation hill country blues artists still alive. He learned to play guitar from Joe Callicott and later from R.L. burnside and others. I think you guys would make an amazing team.
Hey Justin just wanted to say thanks for all the great work and music you have posted for so many years Because of you I have practiced slide guitar for two years now and take inspiration from YOU Love you music And thank you 🙏 so much
Justin, that was nothing short of majestic! During my acoustic gigs decades ago, I always loved playing and singing this song. ( Whenever I performed alone, I would whistle the slide parts. ) The way you incorporated the vocal, slide, AND rhythm all into one, is totally mind blowing. Very tasteful too!
Justin…you’re awesome. If you were around the ages of the Skynyrd Band members back in the day, Ronnie probably would have wanted you to join their band.
