These US kids don't realize that they have amazing cars. Come to south america bro, that car's price is more than double what you pay for a used one. Only rich kids may drive something like that here and only people that worked hard for many many years may be able to buy one of those bad boys (well that or dr dealers). That car has nothing to envy about mustangs, camaros and chargers, it's awesome, never breaks and it's pretty stable. You have a beautiful beast my good sir!
The only reason they put back seats in the Genesis was to get it out of the sports car class and into the coupe class for both insurance and regulatory reasons.
@@josesalcedo709it was at 65k when I got it, had all service history reported. No mods done to it. At 76k and have daily driven it, routine maitnence, no issues at all
I had a 2013 2.0t r-spec and man was it so fun! It lasted a good 8 years and only needed about a grand in actual issues that I had to fix engine wise and it was only about a grand for replacing some fans. It did have cheap paint, and they are prone to water leaking (mine did in the tail lights) but honestly if you get that taken care of when it happens its an awesome car! I only traded mine as I needed something more comfortable and wanted more power. So I got 22 Kia Stinger GT2 (AWD) and MAN don't get me started on how much I love it! I sold my Genny to family and still drive it sometimes, won't lie it definitely is a night and day difference but for the cost the genesis coupe is an amazing car and really fun and plenty of room for mods!
Absolutely! Thank you for that comment hope it helps someone out someday! Dropping a video next week with a car transformation so you should come back and see it!
Woahhhh a cool car guy that's actually normal chill person and not a hotboxed mumbling stoner showing their undergarments :o Love the video dude, and the car is clean.
My opinion, these are really cool cars and no i'm not unbiased cause i'm driving a pre-facelift 2011 model with the 3.8l v6. I haven't really noticed the rattling interior issues but i'm half-deaf and mine is built in Korea so build quality might vary. I had to sort out various wear and tear items but aside from that a really reliable and fun car, best one i've had this far. I'm keeping mine as close to the original as i can, keeping the hyundai badges and all cause i don't really care what people think about the brand. If someone smiles for all the wrong reasons when they see it i don't mind, i smile for all the right reasons when driving it.
I’ve owned a 2010 is the past and got it from Chicago and man I had to fix it and then eventually timing jumped. It was already tuned and straight piped too but I don’t know if the 2 guys did it right or put the proper mods before tuning it for a pop and bang tune.
Hyundai only built around 123,000 over the 8yrs. I have a 2013 3.8 Grand Touring. I purchased it new in 3/13. After 11 1/2 years and 62,000 miles other than routine maintenance I have had zero issues. It was my daily for 8 years. Now it’s just for weekends at the local cars and coffee. If they are maintained and not beaten on they are excellent and reliable cars. The speakers are actually really good for a system. I suspect that whomever had it before you did not take care of it. The Gen coupes are quickly disappearing. I recommend the 3.8 if you can find one that has not been abused or has a salvage title.
Love Mine but your right about few things on them own a 2010 so it’s older but these cars are fun to ride especially to meets and just for cruise love mines metallic black staggered ❤❤
To the guys that are scared to buy bk1 2.0T- If it is your first car, trust me, in the US you can make it look really clean and still have fun and not braking the law. You can also learn really hard and easy stuff on it. Wish that younger audience new, that you dont need 2jz or 400hp to have fun.
Agree. Now personally it’s a preference on appearance for me. For bk1 and bk2. But I would definitely do some research on the 2.0 and the 3.8 before buying.
today i went to go test drive a 3.8 grand touring. let me tell you i was so unimpressed. i had a tuned 2014 v6 camaro. i crashed the car and 2 months ago i got a 2.0T accord. i figured going from my accord to this genesis would be a huge power difference considering that it’s 348 hp at 3400 lbs. i was so unimpressed with the power delivery and the car in general. the steering wheel was super super super stiff. i was sweating turning the wheel. (could’ve been lack of power steering fluid). the brembos were horrible quality. i had to push the brake almost all the way in to come to a slow stop. and i’ve driven an m340i with brembos so i was expecting similar quality. and finally the power wasn’t there. i stepped on the gas in sport and even put it in manual and it was almost the slowest thing ive ever felt. i went absolutely no where when i stepped on the gas. the only benefit im giving the car is that the guy from the dealer only let me drive 4 blocks and didn’t even take me on the highway. aside from that just horrible ride quality in my opinion. i became interested in one because of the sound when straight piped and i wanted something that reminded me of my camaro since i completely totaled it. overall just wasn’t impressed besides the fact the car was pretty loud with the mufflers and resonators. does anyone have a reason to why the power wasn’t there to the pedal or the brakes? so i can maybe give it another chance
I’ll be honest I’m not 100% sure. Maybe try shopping for some others and make sure it wasn’t just the car. Maybe it had some issues that you weren’t aware of. Keep me updated and hopefully someone else can help by responding as well
How many of you Yahoo's know what the whole burnt tip exhaust is about? Originally, it was meant to look like titanium exhaust systems. Having actually been a real road racer, We had titanium exhaust systems on our race bikes for weight reduction. When they got hot, they would turn blue and gold like you see these phonea tips.
I've had mine (2013 2.0) for 4 years and only thing I had to replace was my clutch cylinder. Nice car fun to drive and get lots of comments on the street / at meets
Everyone is different, we are also talking about a different generation of these cars. I also promise you I’m not making these problems up lol. Sounds like you got lucky!
I'm sorry, but why would you make a video about buying a 10 year old car? I'm assuming a 10 year old car would have at least 100K miles on it and with other options in this class, I just don't see the point. I have a 2016 Genny Coupe 3.8 and love it but I wouldn't even consider buying a 10 year old Coupe. Just sayin.

The tail lights thing is very common on these cars, a high flex bead of clear silicon usually fixes it.

To be honest mine has been really reliable. From what I know it seems they all are as long as your doing your basic car maintenance

Awesome glad to hear from you!
Only the 3.8 has enough power to even bother also must be manual. My only issue is zero of these in my local junkyards so almost zero parts
Hard to come by it seems nowadays
