The motor boat which is shooting the video changes its position, relative to the sailboat too much. It looks like it even crosses in front of the sailboat. This messes up our ability to see the point of the lesson, which is the S curve. Still very cool to see this technique.

Great instructional video - one of the best I've seen. Use of radio microphone to describe what your doing in real time is a fantastic idea. Thanks!

Thank you, Hanna, and everyone else who helped make this video. There is so much to learn!

Why do you have to be flat on water when going straight on the lee ?
When the water is flat like this, when do you have to change direction ? How often do you have to make this S and why ?

    I have a problem.
When going to bear away to well get inside the wave, the pressure on the sail drops. In part this was owed to a vang too loose, but the problem is not solved yet.
Interestingly, this happens only with medium-light and medium winds.

You might have the mainsheet too far out or may not be steering far enough. When you bear away to come down the wave, the wind should start flowing from the leach to the luff.

I think the Laser sailing instruction from years back is more effective at sailing fast. Perhaps this boat hasn't been around long enough to get the best out of it.

What are you using for a microphone? Is it 2 way? is it waterproof (in case you capsize)? Is the sound being recorded on a device on your boat or is it broadcasting to the coach boat?

Since when did we start to call them “IsleKa”. They’ve been Lasers for all my lifetime - and that’s quite a long time….
Show us the dreaded “Laser death roll”. That’s what makes sailing fun for us average sailors. Or better still show us how to avoid it…..

Since the copyright owners of the name and the class had a bust up. Check out Steve cockerills video on avoiding death rolls, not sure Hannah could have covered it in these conditions haha

@@toddjamin I have LOTS of experience rolling in even these light conditions but eventually gained enough experience through "time in the boat" and pushing the envelope that my signature capsizes in these conditions are now fortunately very few.

Couldn't make much sense of that.
