Beautiful song... what stood out to me is the amount of flowers that were layed on the grass at Graceland when Elvis died! 😳 it's of the same magnitude as when Princess Diana died, all the flowers from the fans.... stunning. 🌹🌹🌹
Wow I've not heard this before and she has a beautiful voice, this is so so emotional for all of us, I had tears, I still can't watch his funeral because I cry 😭😭😭😭. I was only 8 when my mam called me downstairs as I was in our bedroom probably listening to Elvis, I went down and my mams face and when she said I cried, we both cried !!! One of the saddest days ever, we would never see him live or in person apart from on a screen. The newscaster was in total shock, he kept say I can't believe it etc but at least he left us with a lot he did in short time of his life, what a legend Elvis Presley R.I.P gone but never ever forgotten and I will never forget him, I'm 52 and he is part of us like you say, he is in the very heart and soul of us, Always Elvis 💞💞💞💞

Brings back memories and really reminds me of the mood and the feel in Memphis within the first few years after Elvis's death. Although the song itself came out many years later. I wish all the fans could have experienced like myself Graceland before Elvis's death and Graceland before it was open to the public in 1982. Let's just say it was more organic than it is today . Although it remains a beautiful experience !

Of all the Elvis tribute songs and I have dozens going all the way back to his death this is by far one of the best and a personal favorite it really gets to you !
I hadn’t heard this song before, so beautiful and loved her voice. That Elvis touched so many millions of hearts is remarkable, I hope he knows this! As you say Michelle, we all share the loss but are so so thankful for everything he left us.. xx

What a beautiful, heartfelt song, sung with so much passion. I really liked it, had chills at times and lots of tears. There are so many of these tribute songs I’ve never heard and love that you’re playing them, good or bad. Have you listened to the song, “To Where You Are,” sung by Josh Grobin and lyrics by Linda Thompson? Linda wrote it with Elvis in mind. He is gone, but still all around. The entire song is so beautiful, to know that someone you love who died yet is “only a breath away.” Since it is, in a way, a tribute to Elvis it would be a great choice to play for your Sunday song. Hi Michelle. Beautiful song. The minute I see footage of August 77 I am right back as my 16 year old self and all those emotions come flooding right back. It really hits hard this time of year, even after all of these years, it still feels like the day it happened. But, as you said, Elvis gave us so many precious, beautiful memories and I am SO thankful that I grew up during the time of Elvis, I would never change that, NEVER.

I was working the phones in the Memphis Fire Dept. dispatch office...early afternoon(?) we got a request from Graceland. we sent the ambulance...within maybe 1/2hr they said they were transporting to Baptist Hospital...about an hour later we were getting calls from around the world...wanting verification...sad time in Memphis.

Tamara Walker never fails to cut my heart every time. I was 9 yrs old and was with my dad watching Elvis in the News.
