Exactly, most good NFL players don’t start immediately, but they sit and learn how to read defenses. Like, Michael Penix JR is gonna sit and learn from Kirk Cousins who knows a lot about football and Michael will develop
Everyone remember 2022 when the Vikings were winning all these games by one score against both good and mediocre teams? There’s a team like that right now, the Kansas City Chiefs.
No one should argue that INT should have been ruled incomplete. Barring that, Darnold shouldn't have made that throw. With McCarthy... going to be hard to sit him after this year. He seems to have that "it factor" about him. Something I didn't see with Kirk Cousins. Kind of hard to say Darnold has it or not... his history points to no, but he has been rejuvenated thus far.
Only reason darnold threw that throw was to feed Aaron Jones a TD since the obvious runs near the goal line never pan out for the vikies, wanted him to do that lambeau leap
Man im happy for Sam showing the entire league how good he is ...he is playing complimentary football thats what you need and he can pull out those big plays 3rd and long when you need it ...always takeing his game one play at a time great confidence ....has the play maker and we still arent healthy yet ...defence is dominate they arent the 84 chicago bears ....yet
Thanks for bringing up how much better than Giants are than anyone gives credit for - that team is easily above average, but people still act like they're an FCS team.
3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 with power runs are the only true weakness for the vikes, they have to pass or run tricky gadget plays to creatively get a 1st down.. but thats thebonly glaring weakness this coming from a big NFL fan the past 20 years
I know this is unrealistic but if Brian Flores wanted to stay in Minnesota simply as DC I think that would be a best case situation for him. He definitely deserves another shot at HC but man with say on personnel and drafting input I think he has everything he could ask for in this team. A smart, young, and progressive head coach in KOC and a bunch of talent. He only has to worry about his side of the ball and he does a damn good job of doing it. A great ownership with great facilities and a great state in Minnesota.
I can see the Dolphins being a player for Darnold next season. Tua just needs to retire for his own sake. I think it would be a good fit for Darnold. Tag &Trade and recoup some draft picks.
I’m mad that we played so conservatively second half, Jordan love got dealt with and he hates it jair Alexander being in wouldn’t of mattered Jefferson was covered the entire time and still scored that pick was an incomplete pass skol
Agree with everything except what you said about extending darnold. He has been amazing, sure, but why get rid of the biggest advantage he gives you (paying 10mil for a starting qb)? Paying him top tier money takes away from the rest of the team. Even if McCarthy starts at 80% of darnold, he’s way cheaper and has much more room to grow
Why do people keep saying the Jets are good? They are 2-2. Is it Rodgers? He is 40, didn’t play at all last year, hasn’t been anything above average since 2021
it's not rodgers. denver has TREMENDOUS defense. the rain and bad play by the rest of the team led to that loss. they should be 3-1 ps: that was one of the worst games i have ever watched 😂
I wouldn't buy into the second half too much. Defence played cover two which is by far their worst formation. But they made the Packers fight the clock which is the point of moving into that kind of defence. Plus, Sam hardly threw the ball in the second half. again, to burn the clock. No need to show the rest of the play book when you're up big.
You give Darnold a 2 year extension, and probably move on from him after the second year. He's on a 10 mil one year deal. If Jones keeps doing well do we extend his one year deal too?
Im sorry but scoring 3 points in one whole half is just unacceptable. This should never have been close. I am not happy with this preformance, we should have lost.
Jets should be an easy win. The rest of the season outside division games are pretty easy with the Jags and Texans. Seahawks could be trouble. Vikes have a bad record vs. Seattle.
Brian was a head coach and did horrible, he prefers to be a defensive coordinator and he is absolutely great at it. Not everyone is made to be a head coach
Love the content but your take about keeping Sam and sitting JJ is horrible. That would waste the rookie contract benefit we have with him rn. And if KOC can do this with Sam, just imagine what he can do with JJ
It's better for rookies to learn for a few seasons. Also no rookie QB has ever won a Superbowl as the starter. They're too fresh from college. It's two different games really. It'd be one thing if Sam was losing games left and right, but he's winning, let him cook, let the rookie learn.
@@serbarriston7177 technically he won’t be a rookie next year. He’s already had an entire offseason to learn this system. He went through almost an entire training camp and started a preseason game in which he looked great. The kids already mature beyond his years. Sitting him this year was the move but any longer than this year would be a mistake.
Tom Brady sat 3, Rodgers sat 3, and our fans are insane and try to run people out of town the second we lose a game. Let him grow up a little before he faces the Minnesotan hoard. 1 year at least, 2 or 3 would be better. I'm sure if Sam doesn't get us at least to a Conference championship appearance, JJ will get his shot sooner than later. If he plays right now and doesn't win a super bowl, half our fans will call for his head and that number will grow every game he loses that day forward. Same goes for old MacDarnold lol our fans are lunatics.
@@serbarriston7177 bro he’s injured the entire year have you heard? He’s sitting a year regardless. He will completely know this playbook come this time next year. Plus our fans are not that bad. We will give grace to him in his first games. He has KOC directing him too so I think the floor is high.
Have to be realistic. Who knows if JJ is good. He seemed fine in college, talent wise they’re similar. I think he can be good, but there’s no certainty he’ll be good.

They took their foot off the gas. That was their mistake. Stop acting like the Packers didn't go down 28-0. Momentum changed with the muffled punt. That INT wasn't a catch. Packers are lucky they got back into it.

It's crazy that alot of past great QBs sat for a few years to learn, but people that suggest that nowadays think it's crazy.
Yes Tom Brady sat on the bench and learned from Bledso and Rodgers sat on the bench while farve played

that still happens, it’s just never been the most common thing, even back in the day the majority of teams would start their rookie qb
Imagine if the Vikings had the sort of luck (and officiating) that the Chiefs get? They would be 6:0 after 4 games with 72 points per game!
Everyone remember 2022 when the Vikings were winning all these games by one score against both good and mediocre teams? There’s a team like that right now, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Yep but KC is being praised for it, while Minnesota got called frauds the whole time
🤔
Yep. Paper tiger.
I think we would beat them in the superbowl if Darnold keeps playing like this

He had no control before he was out of bounds. No worries. Refs help the downtrodden for Vegas. Gotta keep em close.
Only reason darnold threw that throw was to feed Aaron Jones a TD since the obvious runs near the goal line never pan out for the vikies, wanted him to do that lambeau leap
Even if Darnold leaves we should grab someone else. McCarthy is going to be a huge bust
I couldn’t tell if that was Jordan love or nick mullens… looked about the same
The Farve jersey he wore post game was just on point. 4TDs/3Ints/383yrds is such a Farve statline

I'm just happy for Darnold. I always liked him and thought New Jersey chewed him up and spit him out. I hope he has a resurgence like Goff did.

The interception was an obvious incomplete pass and the refs should be ashamed of not only getting the call wrong but failing the review.
