I had that same ninja for about a year and the issue with it is that the blades are not made to last… they are very sharp out of the box which makes it appear to be a good product but within 6 months to a year of regular use the blades got dull which made it nearly unusable for green smoothies because of the chunks and inability to grind up fresh greens to a smooth texture. This is a major point which 1 day reviews can't cover! If a 500 dollar blender lasts 10 years it's probably worth it over a 90 dollar blender which lasts 3 years, depending on what you want to do with it.
@@adcashmo Except that's even mathematically wrong. If a $500 blender lasts 10 years, to not be a better value the 3 year blender would have to cost at least $150. You could replace the $90 blender every two years and still be ahead by $50.

I think the big difference is the quality of the motor, a few years ago I investigated why the Vitamix is so expensive and it is made of high quality that has a 10-year guarantee, definitely, if a person uses the blender almost daily and for a long time it is better going for the Vitamix if used once or two times a week with the ninja is enough.
I was doing research on the types of blenders out there, since I wanted to choose the best one for my use. The blender companies all called the container a "jar." Yes, you can pour from it like a pitcher and it mostly resembles a pitcher. so, call it what you want.
the fact that effort has to go into using a Vitamix is proof that it's useless, the whole point of blenders is for them to blend with minimum effort from the person using it.
for real. i use my vitamix for smoothies every single day, their smoothie recipe was not optimal if you want something that tastes good, and she over blended it by the looks of it.
I’ve had a Vitamix for a number of years, so there is no app which doesn’t matter. I use my primarily for smoothies. Both look like wonderful products so it’s a matter of requirements and budget. Thank you for this helpful video.
Couldn’t agree more with them !!!! I’ve got the ninja and I’ve never had any issues with chewing my smoothie , I’ve had the ninja for over 10 years it’s AMAZING!!
I have both and apparently the Ninja is my favourite. Vitamix is over rated. I feel less guilty to abuse the Ninja as its so cheap. Definitely my go to for smoothies with A LOT if ice. It just blends better with the 3 blades. I don't do vege smoothies so can't comment on that. But yes I prefer my Ninja over my Vitamix. And it cost me $1000USD to buy in Singapore. $200USD for my Ninja is soooo much value. If it's spoilt, i can buy 4 more Ninja for the price of 1 Vitamix.
I have both of these blenders and once I tried the vitamix I parked the ninja 🥷 in a box in my garage! What I love with the vitamix there’s no pulps or pieces of what you’re blending u could make a soup with the vitamix
Vitamix is the best, even for commercial use. Very sad to watch these two people who doesn’t know how to use product to do comparison video. Not fair for vitamix
"Vitamix loses out on the ice test" "(the ninja's ice), it's crushed up but also stuck together." Wait, what... how the F does the crushed ice that's a big block win the test?
I got both of theses appliances. I got the Ninja . I got on sale at Best Buy f $90 it includes one pitcher, food processor, and 2 travel containers. I got a 4200 Vitix blender as a gift f helping neighbors move. I like the Ninja f bowls or making things w more consistenty. The vitimix I use f juices and smoothies
clearning the ninja is chore. it's three parts, and you have to be really careful with the blade. the hole at the bottom of the blade gets food inside it and hard to clean it out. the ninja top has a lot of crevices and even with daily scrubbing, you'll start to notice build up. the vitamix cleans itself. as for performance, I noticed whole foods using a vitamix. i tried making the strawberry almond smoothie from whole foods at my house with my ninja and couldn't get the taste and consistency, so i bought a vitamix. it really just boils down to how you like your smoothies. i'm picky and prefer no chunks. i don't even like pulp in orange juice, but obviously some people love it. the ninja cannot blend the tiny seeds in strawberries. there are times you'll have to stop the ninja and move your food around so that it will blend. it's a lot more convenient to use a tamper with the vitamix
A majority of our videos (this one included) are NOT sponsored in any way whatsoever. We go out and pay full price (or sale prices) for any items from retail stores. If a video is sponsored (such as Walmart+ video), we will verbally say so add text on screen and in description. In our tests and in our opinion, the Ninja beat the Vitamix yes.
I agree, the vitamix is a far superior blender by leaps and bounds. They need to go back and blend the exact same ingredients for both blenders and try different settings for each- blending, smoothie, soup, etc… this was not a very good comparison at all.
The funniest part is the sound comparison. I remember vita mix doing their advertisement, and talking about how quiet it was and you can hear them talk fine. They obviously had a different mic system being piped into the video. Because that was loud as hell in your video
I own both. Ninja sucks when it comes to blending. It does not blend food well enough. Consistency is bad too. Try watching American Test Kitchen's video. It is more knowledgeable in what they talk about.
I had my Vitamix for over 7 years and it still is BEAST, its nothing I can't blend with it, my young daughter is about to receive mine as I will be purchasing the newer version. I have Ninja products and I sure it does the job, but as for blending the Viramix is the Cadillac of Blenders.
You pour from a pitcher. You screw a lid on top of a jar. I don't know what the "official" term for it is when it comes to blenders, but I also don't care - it should be pitcher either way.
@@slickdeals First, that pitcher has nothing to do with blenders, second, the screw on lid is what makes it a pitcher. Without the lide is a jar-like component of a potential pitcher. Think it through... pitchers have a pour spout to "pitch" liquid away from the container so that )inside doesn't run down the side of the container. It is in the name. It really shouldn't be this hard... lol
I have never heard a pitcher being called a jar. With a pouring spout and handle, it is a pitcher. The Ninja lists it on the box as a pitcher. It also states that it comes with two cups. :)
Try ice test with liquid, Vitamix makes it like a slurpee machine or frozen margarita machine. What was the result with the nut butters? They didn't say
Yeah, and usually to make nut butter you use the tamper. At least, I do and it never turns out burnt. As someone who’s had both, but only one has lasted past the two year mark, I really don’t think they knew how to use the blenders properly.
When you put a professional tool into amateur hands. You buy a Vitimix when you cook from scratch and do so alot. Every professional kitchen I ever worked in wish a damn had a Vitimix.
Unless you use a blender multiple times a day, everyday, I can't see the Vitamix being worth it. For most people, the Ninja is the obvious choice. Spending $500 on a device you'll only use occasionally is insane. In the "affordable" category, the Ninja is way better than anything else you'll find. The fact this $90 blender can even be compared to a $500 Vitamix is a testament to how great it is. And who really needs a "Smart Blender"?
The Ninja is much more difficult to clean, the blades are sharp which means they wear pretty quickly, and the middle blade column can be quite dangerous in use/cleaning. The Vitamix is for someone who regularly makes themselves smoothies. If you drink smoothies for your health, you don’t want pieces inside. Also, blenders don’t typically last very long because they have cheap motors inside them. The Vitamix will last for over a decade for most people and if you regularly use a Ninja, you might be lucky to get a year.
It’s all about the quality of it ! I have both and I most say vitamix is way better than ninja .. ninja is a great blender but it also doesn’t blend completely well especially for smoothies .. vitamix actually beats ninja in a lot of ways .. but that didn’t mean ninja isn’t good ! They both good ! But vitamix quality is way better and blend way better and easy to clean, easy to make smoothies, milkshakes, soup, sauce ! You want qualities to last long ! People buy expensive jewelry’s that they don’t were everyday, or sneakers or shoes or games or cars ! That’s why quality is always better
Every Ninja I have ever had broke within less than a year. This last Ninja lasted 4 months. I drink smoothies 3 to 4 times a week. Therefore I decided to stop to wasting my money and investing in Ninja and purchased a Vitamix so far I am satisfied.
not a knock against the reviewers because this falls outside of the scope of the review, but the sight of someone pouring Almond Breeze into a Vitamix for a smoothie is hilarious lmao
It depends on the watts and what you are blending. The vitamix is much faster and blends everything silky smooth. The Ninja 1400 watt also blends but not as good. I had both. All I can say is that the vitamix is definately much better but if you are on the budget Ninja is fine. If you are blending hard things like seeds and so on vitamix for the win. If you are blending basic stuff like fruits and kale Ninja will do. They are not the same.
I think this value is not really correct because they use the VitaMix not as it's supposed to be used and also they didn't talk about quality divide a mix has a 10 year warranty metal gears while being ninja only has a two-year-old tea and the gears of plastic and silicone which were down very fast and also the VitaMix has a much more powerful motor and to be honest the Lynches precepts are not even that good and personally I like the VitaMix control dial because you can be much more precise with the controls then just a low medium and high button also personally I don't like the way that the ninja attaches a detaches from the base and the lid is very cheap and clunky and you can get it wrong multiple times before putting in on the correct way.
Well the winner is vitamix. Ninja is also good because is it affordable but for more work Vitamix, yet it is very expensive. I agree with you in vitamix with ice it stuck up you need to use the tamper all the time.
Guys, you need to get these suckers at LEAST 1/3 full or the sides of the containers just get coated. And you didn't test anything at full capacity so you could've done all this with an immersion blender.
When crushing ice with vitamix you need to add a little water. It says it in the recipe book. I've had my vitamix for 20 years and I wouldn't trade it for a ninja. You can make boiling hot soup with a Vitamix.
The usability of the Ninja is superior since the functionality requires no smartphone to use, but the Vitamix is worth the money due to it's longer lasting construction, and the sheer power it has to liquify kale. I don't want to have to chew bits of kale in my green smoothie, I want a creamy consistency that's easy to drink. I would recommend getting a refurbished Vitamix that has the older functionality that didn't require a app to get the most out of it.
For me both blenders are good to use and the Vitamix blender blended very well what ever they just blended in this video also alot of people want more softer ice when is crushed like the Vitamix blender do but the how the Ninja blender crushed the ice for some people it was just fine and why there was no butter for the smoothie on the Vitamix blender is better to know which is the best blender if the Vitamix blender had butter for the smoothie. Alot of people get confused with their own blenders and don't know how to take care any kind of blender they have and then they just break the blender and then think that probably they didn't have a good blender like they expected
I wish I could take the side of the beautiful lady but it’s a pitcher. It has a handle and a spout. I could even go with jug. And it’s no comparison. The vita mix absolutely pulverized everything and makes better butters and grains. And it darn near lasts forever.
I love my vitamix, I’ve had it for almost a decade, and he’s right it called a pitcher. Should’ve had owners/makers of these machines do this video, not 30yr olds
I like the Ninja’s GLASS one Bc I like making hot soups in it. I cracked my plastic one. Ninja can blend an entire tray of ice in a hot second. I love it.
You don’t have to use the app to make anything in the Vitamix. I don’t think you can honestly down rate a product for learning difficulties and a lack of preparedness with an optional app. I would rather have an Oster blender than a Ninja. The motor can’t handle being on a significant amount of time.
i don't get why you guys would put different ingredients in the different blenders if you're trying to do a fair test... maybe just so you can give the Ninja an excuse for looking less blended? Not sure how you can give the Ninja a better performance rating when clearly it didn't blend as well (other than just ice).
As soon as you said you were "testing" the decibel level while blending the nut butters, I knew Malia's nut butter was NOT going to turn out right. She seems a little too disinterested in the whole thing to know the importance of using the tamper to make it. The Vitamix is a much better product, but to be fair, not everyone can afford to pay that much for a blender. The Ninja is a suitable substitute for those on a stricter budget.
Test speaks for itself there nice video .. Also the Ninja kit comes with a smoothie tube and blades set for it not Blending ... ninja hands down there keep up the videos
You didn’t show the results of the almond butter comparison and you also said the Ninja burnt it, and could not blend the kale, so I don’t get the final results except for saving bucks.
Vitamix on shear last-ability. Built like tanks and good enough for commercial use. Least that’s what I hear and that’s what I’m going to want. But also it’s clear your not taking the time to know how to use the Vitamix. Yes your normal people. Great. But normal people also learn how to use a £$400 blender Have to say the US prices are way cheaper than UK.
For price point I will go for ninja. I owned both before & i like Vitamix because it blend really smooth & you dont have to take any parts out to wash it. I will go for one that does not need the App.
I just don't see how this was a good overall test, and stop comparing price the ninja will break easily with not much use but the Vitamix will last a decade. and btw the nut butter test was done wrong, you don't just throw the whole almond in there you need to add something else. this test wasn't a good one. the Vitamix wins every time when done correctly.

@@TransasaurusRex thanks
I’ve had a Vitamix for a number of years, so there is no app which doesn’t matter. I use my primarily for smoothies. Both look like wonderful products so it’s a matter of requirements and budget. Thank you for this helpful video.
Had a ninja and hated it. It doesn't do ice well and consistency of smoothies are off.
Couldn’t agree more with them !!!! I’ve got the ninja and I’ve never had any issues with chewing my smoothie , I’ve had the ninja for over 10 years it’s AMAZING!!
The vitamix was designed to use the tamper, it’s not optional for a lot of things if you want things mix evenly and quickly.
There's a reason why it costs more, " because it's worth it
Apparently not
@@mattcurtis79 I'll take the vitamix over any ninja!! Any day!
I think Vitamix outperforms all other blenders
⁸I'll l n,mm ml guidelines site adroit pin.
U can mix ice cream too with frozen fruits ? Smoothies bowls ?
@@Portofino88yes it is a very powerful blender. It blends up frozen fruits no problem and leaves no seeds.
I took my Ninja back that I bought and bought a Vitamix and haven’t looked back. That was 7 years ago. There is no better blender for the money
Vitamix is the best, even for commercial use. Very sad to watch these two people who doesn’t know how to use product to do comparison video. Not fair for vitamix
True
Also. The comparisons we’re very fair when it came to the smoothly. if she didn’t want to use almond butter then it should have been used in his.
Ok but you still never tried ninja way more ratings than vitamix on amazon. I feel like this comparison was correct (in my opinion)
For the price.... ninja wins.
"Vitamix loses out on the ice test" "(the ninja's ice), it's crushed up but also stuck together."
Wait, what... how the F does the crushed ice that's a big block win the test?
I had the same question!! This whole thing didn’t make much sense to me.
they get an F on this test
If you search Vitamix ice crushing you see one where they add cold water to the and then run it and strain the water out it looks like good ice.
Did Ninja pay for this? There is no way the Ninja is better than the Vitamix.
I own both, bought Ninja first and then Vitamix. You guys are defo getting paid by Ninja one way or other.
The funniest part is the sound comparison. I remember vita mix doing their advertisement, and talking about how quiet it was and you can hear them talk fine. They obviously had a different mic system being piped into the video. Because that was loud as hell in your video
We used the same mic for everything and everyone. They were both just as loud as one another.
It depends on how high the blender is. It is generally a low sound until you get to the higher numbers.
This "pitcher" has a screw on lid ;) www.amazon.com/QuickPour-Airtight-Pitcher-Locking-Japanese/dp/B018J4M75Y
@@slickdeals, yes it does. And you pour from it. I never claimed that pitchers can't have screw on lids. :-P
I think the word they're reaching for is "container".
Try ice test with liquid, Vitamix makes it like a slurpee machine or frozen margarita machine.
What was the result with the nut butters? They didn't say
I wondered that too
Yeah, and usually to make nut butter you use the tamper. At least, I do and it never turns out burnt. As someone who’s had both, but only one has lasted past the two year mark, I really don’t think they knew how to use the blenders properly.
I have both; both are powerful but def the Vitamix if you want smooth smoothies.
When you put a professional tool into amateur hands. You buy a Vitimix when you cook from scratch and do so alot. Every professional kitchen I ever worked in wish a damn had a Vitimix.
The investment is well worth it. Had mine for 7 years now, and haven’t bought a jar of nut butter since.
A friend of mine, had her Ninja 1000 for 8 years. I will be taking my Ninja 1000 out the box next month.
Great video guys! Thx a lot!! Now I know what I have to buy
My 5200 us used daily and as good as it was 10 years ago.
@@grahamstefaan really???
The ninja is a pos: so many components are breaking on it.
not a knock against the reviewers because this falls outside of the scope of the review, but the sight of someone pouring Almond Breeze into a Vitamix for a smoothie is hilarious lmao
For frozen fruits and bowl smoothies and i e crushing ninja is enough?
So ninja not best for nut butters- which ninja did you have
Always thought of it as a pitcher and never looked back...till now
I think this value is not really correct because they use the VitaMix not as it's supposed to be used and also they didn't talk about quality divide a mix has a 10 year warranty metal gears while being ninja only has a two-year-old tea and the gears of plastic and silicone which were down very fast and also the VitaMix has a much more powerful motor and to be honest the Lynches precepts are not even that good and personally I like the VitaMix control dial because you can be much more precise with the controls then just a low medium and high button also personally I don't like the way that the ninja attaches a detaches from the base and the lid is very cheap and clunky and you can get it wrong multiple times before putting in on the correct way.
Well the winner is vitamix. Ninja is also good because is it affordable but for more work Vitamix, yet it is very expensive. I agree with you in vitamix with ice it stuck up you need to use the tamper all the time.
you can completly ignore the app and use the buttons on the device. the app is an extra feature, but not required to use the device
I ordered the A3500 so I don't need to worry about the Smoothie setting for the App.
Brought to you by ninja 🤣
The Vitamix is a better blender and well worth the investments.
Definitely. I’ve had mine for 8 years and the manual mode is probably better for less confusion.
Oh god!! I can’t wait 1 year to get Black Friday deal
I wonder who else clicked this because she was in the thumbnail pictures. That guy is a blessed man. If she has a twin sister let me know
i used to be obsessed with the ninja blender
I got a old school Vitamix 5200 black friday for less then 300 before tax look forward to using it.
Deff a pitcher. Do you buy a jar of beer at a bar to share with friends? Do you make a jar of lemonade?
Nah they are all pitchers lol
Guys, you need to get these suckers at LEAST 1/3 full or the sides of the containers just get coated. And you didn't test anything at full capacity so you could've done all this with an immersion blender.
You are absolutely right!
Yes cuz I would like to know which one is the better one okay let's get into it
I have a hard time believing that this is an unbiased comparison. I have both blenders and I can’t imagine ever choosing the Ninja over the Vitamix.
Vitamix better?
It’s about longevity and value for money
I’ve never heard anyone call that a jar. Love how confident she was tho lol
When crushing ice with vitamix you need to add a little water. It says it in the recipe book. I've had my vitamix for 20 years and I wouldn't trade it for a ninja. You can make boiling hot soup with a Vitamix.
Hate my ninja can’t afford a vitamix so I am sad
Good review. Thanks.
Thumbs up, but the questions is why drink kale when you could be eating raw meat instead?

The app is totally optional. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
It's a pitcher lady. Sorry. Okay to call it you want tho 😅
Pitcher for sure.
I bought the biggest ninja but it's still new in the box for 2 years now so maybe one day I will dig it out.
Use a period here and there.
Your review was honest yet so true I could not have said it better I owned both yet returned my vitamix
Lost younger brother of Lars Ulrich is here comparing items.
Hahahaha he does look him 🥁 😂
I wish I could take the side of the beautiful lady but it’s a pitcher.
None of the models actually *need* the app. It’s for those who can’t be bothered to learn how to use it.
Pitcher
I like the Ninja’s GLASS one Bc I like making hot soups in it. I cracked my plastic one. Ninja can blend an entire tray of ice in a hot second. I love it.
amazing review
I had that Ninja and it was TERRIBLE. It is a glorified food processor, more than a "blender".
In Australia we call your jar/pitcher a jug. Blender jug for the win 🏆 😉😂
“Go big or go home” sounds like sometime my man G-Money would say
Test speaks for itself there nice video .. Also the Ninja kit comes with a smoothie tube and blades set for it not Blending ... ninja hands down there keep up the videos
You didn’t show the results of the almond butter comparison and you also said the Ninja burnt it, and could not blend the kale, so I don’t get the final results except for saving bucks.
Simply put...jars don’t have handles!!!
Pete!!! Dude! It’s been so long!
Vitamix hands down
Vitamix on shear last-ability. Built like tanks and good enough for commercial use. Least that’s what I hear and that’s what I’m going to want.
But also it’s clear your not taking the time to know how to use the Vitamix. Yes your normal people. Great. But normal people also learn how to use a £$400 blender
Have to say the US prices are way cheaper than UK.
Blender have jars, However the one Ninja has is shaped/ designed or reminiscent more of a pitcher So i would call it a pitcher as well.
I call it jars and pitchers both have pour spout but both are containers types of jars it’s both basically Brena
They used to use vitamin in the coffee place. I don’t know what they use now?
For price point I will go for ninja. I owned both before & i like Vitamix because it blend really smooth & you dont have to take any parts out to wash it. I will go for one that does not need the App.
You don't need the app for the Vitamix. It's perfectly functional with the controls on the machine.
I’ve had a ninja for ten years it’s amazing I use it to blend smoothies, milkshakes, Oreos for truffles, and make butter it’s amazing.
Honey you need to take it down several notches it not like Vitamix is gonna tank because of one comparison video 😂💀Talk about a loyal customer youre acting as if Vitamix pays you.
