There's now 3 awkward cuts in this video where I trimmed 10 seconds. This was due to a fraudulent claim from Warner Bros. In bad faith they regularly claim videos for outrageous reasons. The appeal process can be long and frustrating or I can trim the offended segments. It's in infuriating compromise to avoid either a long process or losing all the money this video made. But Paramount, Warner Bros, and Universal should be ashamed of themselves for their predatory claiming practices.
it was orignally an Amazon Streaming movie before they shifted it to theatrical. That's also why the actors got so much since there are no backend deals on streaming.
Same, it definitely has the same visual appearance as a Netflix movie because it was shot on digital and mostly against green screen sets in a studio which gives it a cheaper look compared to 'Elf' which looks like it had 4x the budget.
@@evan9902 Exactly, it could have easily been a must-see event movie. With 250 million, I would have shot it on 35 to avoid the Netflix look, used a top cinematographer like Deakins or Van Hoytema, have built sets with a huge team of art directors to make scenes pop, have a poster that didn't look like it required minimal effort, send Dwayne on every major talkshow and podcast while simultaneously running a marketing campaign the size of Barbenheimer across all platforms to create hype at least 8 weeks before release. As it stands, I think you're right, this looks like it will fall into the category of Gray Man / Red Notice which also used their budget in a similar fashion sadly.
@@amy_yoshikawa Because it delayed the production schedule, they had to shoot around him, and so many other things. Being late to a movie set (especially when you’re the star) costs thousands and thousands of dollars every minute.
Casting popular folks is always a double edged sword. You get people in seats for face recognition alone, but they cost a lot of the budget. These actors are costing lots of money nowadays like Robert Downey Jr himself.
Honestly Sean's pitch of this movie being a 50-75 mid budgeted rated r film that has the same concept sounds like a better movie than the actual film we're getting
I believe we are witnessing Johnson's final years as a full-time movie star. With him becoming part of the board of directors controlling WWE, he's clearly setting himself up for a more behind the scenes role in order to keep making money, especially now that he's in his 50s. Starting in 2017, Johnson's films that have him as the sole main star haven't been doing all that well at the box office. The only films that have been profitable are the Jumanji films, but those have him sharing the spotlight with others. Both Black Adam and Jungle Cruise became his biggest box office failures, which have exposed that Johnson just doesn't have the star power that he once did, if he ever did. Now that his films are becoming more expensive, it makes me wonder if Johnson knows his days are numbered in Hollywood and that he's setting himself up for a management role in wrestling, while also making as much as he can before the time comes when the phone for movies doesn't ring anymore.
This movie is very obviously supposed to be ridiculously stupid and fun, and I feel like not many people are catching onto that. I’m also super excited for this movie just because I know it’ll be stupid fun, and I’ll get a little break from reality, as movies are intended to be!
And they made this type of movie called Fatman with Mel Gibson back in 2020 and it was surprisingly really good. Its so hilarious and awesome to see a dark take on Santa Clause
Red One should be proud because it overshot it's box office weekend expectations of $36 million and made $38 million... worldwide. Yeah they never specified if it's expected weekend BO was domestic or worldwide. They can claim worldwide and say Red One overachieved by making $38 million at the weekend box office worldwide against a budget of $253 million.
People to stop say movies are over budgeted and will be a flop. Fact is we're still judging success or flops based on metrics we used 15 - 20 years ago. Agree that it looks like a streaming movie made for about 10 million. For a budget of 250 million, it should at least look as good as Upgrade (5 million) if not as good as a James Cameron or Christopher Nolan or Damian Chazelle movie shot on 35 using built sets with amazing art direction to make it really stand out. Otherwise, Fatman will probably end up being a better Santa-in-trouble Christmas movie for the holidays.
I think Red One may be a fun movie but with that budget the studio probably won't make back its money so then the studios will blame us, the audience and then fun movies like this will go straight to their streaming services and get buried (which is already happening) and not even be considered for a theatrical release! Even though I'm not excited about this, it's still depressing to think how much money it's going to lose. Wow, why is The Rock still getting cast in movies if he's chronically late to the shoots? Isn't this what started his feud with Vin Diesel when doing the Fast and Furious movies?

There should be a cap on how actors get paid and they should get paid after they completed a movie, and their pay should be based on how successful the film is at the box office, studios need to stop paying actors before they even start filming, maybe thats why their performances are not at their best, because they already got paid.

It's sad that Chris Evans wasted his career for these types of films. After Endgame, Knives Out is the only movie I enjoyed from him. That's feel like a promising career for him after retiring from Marvel. He's a great actor. This move could loose $200m at the box office, and for amazon it would have no impact, they would make the money back on black friday sales alone. It is the sutiods like paramount and warner bros that dont have other huge business interests like Apple or Amazon (or even sony and disney) that are more impacted.
Are you going to put out a reaction to the official trailer for skeleton crew it came out this morning in America
doesn't look like it.
I kind of a very busy week getting three very large videos out in 3 days followed by Halloween. So I'm not shooting or editing videos today and I'm playing catch up on everything else.
In the early 80's, low budget horror movies saved cinemas. In the 90's and early 2000's mid tier budget movies ruled the cinema. May these 2 forces come together in 2025 and show studio yhat amazing movies don't have to cost a lot. The Rock is so overrated
We wish you a flop flop we wish u a flop flop 😂we know this will Flop
😂😂
It does look pretty bad imo
It’s just straight up irresponsible 🙄🙄🙄
Gee Rock is getting desperate. Good luck at the box office. I doubt it will make a lot of money.
It's sad that Chris Evans wasted his career for these types of films. After Endgame, Knives Out is the only movie I enjoyed from him. That's feel like a promising career for him after retiring from Marvel. He's a great actor. Especially when you're comparing him to Chris Hemsworth who has Extraction 1&2, Furiosa (I know it's flop but his performance is memorable), Transformers One and still in Marvel
it's a flat movie with not much excitement but interesting ideas that I wish was better, Still, Oh well.
Dwayne Johnson is a has-been. Chris Evans has no career - which means we'll see him back in the MCU soon. Someone shuld get fired for this shite.
Wasn't interested in the slightest when this 💩 was announced. My friend is goofy for the rock which i cant understand in the slightest. Violent night was entertaining af and so was terrifier 3. And rated higher than this 💩 aswell.
I am always so confused by Chris Evans’ role choices, aside from Knives Out everything he does is so generic
he seems like a nice guy but i don't think he has much passion for his craft. He just goes from paycheck movie to paycheck movie.
Money laundering
Those cgi polar bears look awful.. cgi and green screen is lazy filmmaking and a quick turn off for me
