You want to help them but there is only so much one man can do. I feel for them all old and young. But to see your children starve and know you’re powerless to stop it. Heart breaking. Tell their government that. The Venezuelan government sits the largest oil reserves in the world and they have squandered the wealth of that country and starved the people into submission.

I hope BBC and other news stations and media outlets that do videos and stories on these places are helping them asides from just videos and the stories they do, like that women they could help her with food and other items that may be of help like money or her son’s drugs and also donate if possible . It got me very upset when watching an aljazeera 101 east ( I watch a lot of those) video where they were in Bangladesh and a 13 yr old girl was being married against her will and they did nothing but video the whole thing as the girl was crying, saying that she didn’t want the marriage and the reporter clearly said that it was illegal for the marriage to take place in the country and they saw how the little girl cried and how her hopes of becoming a doctor were crushed but they did nothing all they did was video, interview the sad girl, her groom that thought that his wife shouldn’t go to school but be at home to make meals for him when he got back from work and her parents that thought girl children were a liability. I mean they were other people like that in the community one 15 yrs old girl with 2 kids and an abusive husband, and they couldn’t do anything to have helped the girl to prevent the marriage. So I feel that , it’s ok to do the stories but what do you do behind the scenes, after the video ends do you pack up and leave the country or do you stay back and help.

I really hope that my country recovers from this terrible situation. It is scary that I have some family there and some of them are ill and they don’t have enough money for medication and food. My family sends things from here (The U.S) to my other family to help them out. Everything is just utterly horrible in Venezuela.

I recently came back to Venezuela and the situation has gone worse. I an thankful I live in a well established city where people that own businesses try to sell as much basic needs as possible. Of course, it's expensive. But there are people that aren't as lucky. People that live in small towns & rural areas have it worse.
