I can't help crying listen to Michael's outstanding vocals .. he was truly a gift from God... such a devastating loss to this world.. gave his whole life to us...love you always Michael x
Can't stop crying listening to this ....such a tremendous talent that the world couldn't truly appreciate while he was with us ....a flame that was dimmed
Jermaine Jackson killed this baseline with the Fender Jazz Bass!!! Absolutely Amazing how he was able to master all of bass lines for the live performances!!!
My goodness what a great performance. I can just imagine how hard it must have been to sing, dance in step and having all of the energy to do all of that. These brothers was the best and they always gave 100% to their fans at live concerts. I remember when they came to my town back in ‘72; I couldn’t go, but a older brother of mine went and the J5 threw down. I had so many great memories of seeing them or all of variety shows back then. So hard believe just how long ago that’s been. 50 yrs. Wow.
It's amazing to watch his performance from childhood to teenagehood to adulthood! WOW ! And I'm referring this to his stage performances, vocals, outfits, hairstyles and looks !! Very dramatic changes !! But he still did his thing For decades can't nobody touch him!
I wasn't even born during this time i have seen alot of footage of the J5 but i can say I Wanna Be Where You Are is my all time favorite live performance of theirs💪💪🔥🔥🔥..............RIP Mike✊
Diddy Doodat.....I read this song is one of his favorites. Willie Hutch reportedly told MJ that he could sing this song differently trough the years and it would be better each time - Hutch was correct.
As we know Michael didn't want to be center stage he just wanted to sing with big brothers, his talent, voice forced the issue and man Randy killing on the bongo's!!!
I wonder if this bass is really JAMES JAMERSON because he was in this same concert playing bass for MARVIN GAYE (look it up) yet if its really Jermaine....DAMN
Jamerson was a session person. He was the one the albums. In live concert the Jackson would do the rest. Jermaine often played the bass in luve concerts
I don't see where his brothers carried anything they were just doing background at the end and didn't hit any high notes. Only difference is Michael didn't hit that High Note in this performance on account of the voice changing due to puberty.
I have this performance on the Save The Children LP from 1972 in Chicago. The background vocals really stand out and whatever vocals they were doing on the original record is the same live. Jermaine is killing that bass.
“No time for tears. You know who you are! You are Michael Jackson! Get out there!”
My favorite scene!
Dam Straight.
Probably exactly where that happened...lol

That stage was their sanctuary! They owned it. That's some serious talent.

Yosiah TruthSeeker_7 Israel In my opinion he improved on the recorded version.
Warren Cox Who was the bassist in the studio? Was it James Jamerson?
Edwin Batiste James Jameson was the studio bassist
Edwin Batiste I’m not sure. The recording was done in ‘72 & Bob Babbit was in board by then too.
Whoever it was, it wasn’t Jermaine. He had to study those recordings and duplicate them live. He’s only 17 in this video

This is the moment that Michael went from being the lead singer of the Jackson 5 to the leader of the Jackson 5.
As we know Michael didn't want to be center stage he just wanted to sing with big brothers, his talent, voice forced the issue and man Randy killing on the bongo's!!!

Had to have been. Must have been Jamerson.
@@tomjordan8634 that was Jackson playing that bass -as he did for all live performances. Jamerson was probably back stage getting high with Marvin.

Its gotta be a thankless job backing MJ

You can tell his voice was getting deeper...he wasnt hitting those high notes! The brothers really had to carry the song.
