Sent my son to learn how to read music and play an instrument. Some years later he went out and bought a very expensive Martin guitar and when he had his own place he called me up and played this over the phone for me I was blown away
In my opinion, this is better than the studio original - and certainly better than the version taped in 1973 for their concert film. Extraordinarily beautiful, and this has nothing to do with the fact that it was from their last gig as a regular quartet with Bonham - this rearranged version is more stately and more emotional, purely musically better! (and I've known it for more than fifteen years) The point where Robert sings "but you know...that I love you so" and the music picks up again into this slow march gets me every time. So sweet and emotional! It feels like he is thinking of his kids, the ones alive and the boy who was taken away from him,
